1. In the academia, appointments are made by seniority based on year of appointment at a certain level - from assistant lecturer to professor.

2. Nnamdi Azikwe was the President and had power to determine what happened in Federal institutions which included University of Ibadan.

3. Prof Ajose became a Professor in 1948.

4. I could not find any record on when Prof Dike was appointed a Professor but as at 1946, Kenneth Dike was still a Post Graduate student.

As at 1946, Kenneth Dike was still a PG student meanwhile in 1948, Ajose Oladele was appointed a Professor. This goes tp show Ajose was a much more senior Professor but not only that, he was an accomplished African in his field who held several positions before Kenneth Dike began working in the academia.

Why a much senior professor was skipped for a much younger professor. And interestingly, the appointer and the appointees were both of the same ethnic background.

Every question a doctor asks is to aid his diagnosis. You keep shouting treatment. How would a doctor treat you if he doznt knw wats wrong with u? The questions help him/her make a provisional diagnosis which he can confirm with investigations like Cytology, MRI etc.

Doctors get family history because of the importance of genetics as cause of a disease. Doctors arent babalawos, they dont conjure whats wrong with you but investigate. If a woman presents with a lump in her breast and a doctor asks what killed her deceased mother. You think hez just asking for fun? Hez trying to knw if the mother died of cancer related illness to support his suspicions. If the old woman you are sayin is coughin extremely and she tells the doctor her husband died of tuberculosis. Even you dat you arent a doctor, what will be ur provisional diagnosis?

You get the point and I think the government should look into this so called NYSC scheme, it should be reviewed.
For crying out loud, we have a lot of graduates that studied education in the university, let them be posted as teachers in these secondary schools, it adds to their professional experience. Let our graduates be posted to relative industries, it will add to their cognitive experience in their respective field of study.
Most engineering graduates gain little or nothing out of NYSC as compared to our fellow professional degree holders (Law, Architecture, Pharmacy, Medicine etc.)

It's just like an icebreaker. You need to try and find a way to make the patient your friend, to trust you and be ready to open up to you. That will make the major treatment to be easier. That's what good Doctors do. You can even crack jokes and chat with the patient as you would a normal friend.

It's even advisable to start with something like that if you want to clerk a patient. But it's the psychiatrists that need the skill the most, it's the major part of their job
