So, you didn't see the word 'soul'. And you didn't remember that I told you that man is made up of spirit, soul and body and that the body is the only one that remains in the grave awaiting the day of resurrection. The spirit and soul continue to the spirit realm. I've said this before. They're inseparable. It is the spirit that gives life to both soul and body and that life is everlasting. While the life can depart from the body because of its fallen state, it cannot depart from the soul. And for your information, the soul is the REAL MAN not the body.

A man therefore is a soul made alive by the spirit and enabled to roam the earth by the body. The only purpose of the body is to make man eligible to dwell on earth. Only flesh can dwell on earth. It is the abode of flesh. Hence, where you see soul, you see spirit, and where you see spirit, you see soul as far as man is concerned.

Can't you see the fallacy in your position? For example, the spirits of just men made perfect returned to God at death, but they still fellowship with us on earth according to Hebrews 12. The spirits of Abraham, Lazarus and the rich man returned to God too. Jesus didn't undermine that in His parable. God didn't recover their spirits to Himself. They remain active beings in the spirit realm where God dwells. They are alive unto Him.

Where does Hebrews 12:23 say that the spirits of men are on earth fellowshipping with us instead of the spirit realm?

If they've resurrected, why are their graves still with us? Resurrection is an earthly thing. When a person dies, he can only resurrect on earth. Resurrection does not happen in heaven. Jesus resurrected on earth and went to heaven afterwards. That's the same type of resurrection we'll all experience. Nobody has resurrected yet except Christ. The spirits of just men made perfect are still in their dead state awaiting the day of resurrection, but presently they're alive unto God and do fellowship with us.

Why were you saying "did all Saul's children die as the spirit said?" in your previous post as though Samuel said all of Saul's children would die. Samuel said "you and your sons will be with me ..." Talking about Saul and his sons who were in the battlefield with him. The prophecy of Samuel fulfilled to the letter. Even so shockingly that the godly Jonathan didn't escape its fulfillment.

Where did the spirit say that some of Saul's son will die in battle?
Who did the spirit say would kill Saul?

Did God now tell Samuel and any other not to communicate with Saul because He didn't want to? Or is Samuel omniscient to have even known that God was no longer answering Saul in his grave?

Here are some Bible verses that describe Sheol as the abode of spirits:

1. Psalm 16:10: "For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell [Sheol]; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

It shows his soul went to hell but God didn't abandon it there.

2. Psalm 86:13: "For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell [Sheol]."

That's clear enough.

3. Proverbs 15:24: "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell [Sheol] beneath."

4. Isaiah 14:9-10: "Hell [Sheol] from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations."

5. Ezekiel 32:21: "The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell [Sheol] with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword."

They will even speak from the midst of hell!

Saul committed sin by talking to the spirit of Samuel. Samuel's spirit didn't sin by responding to Saul.

What exactly was Jesus talking about there? He was talking about Himself bringing a direct message from the Father. Hence, He was telling the people that no one has ascended to heaven to bring them a message for heaven but He has come from heaven to give them a direct message from the Father.


The breathe of life returns to God. That doesn't mean God recovered His Spirit from men, otherwise, dead men wouldn't still be called spirits. God is said to be the Father of spirits. Also, in Hebrews 12, we are told that we do fellowship with the spirits of just men made perfect. The spirits of men return to God in the sense that they return to where God has assigned to them in the spirit realm. A spirit cannot be trapped in a grave. A soul cannot be trapped in a grave. Only a body. Many scriptures reveal that spirits of dead people could be active after the death of the body.

So the breath of life that God gave to Adam is different from his spirit? What is the Hebrew word for spirit and what Hebrew word is translated as breath of life in Genesis 2:7?

The spirits of men referred to in Hebrews 12:23. Are faithful men of God who have been resurrected and transformed to spirit creatures just like angels in heaven.

Where does the Bible teach that spirits of dead men goes to hades after death?

Analyse the scene and discussion: The witch said "I saw gods ascending out of the earth" - Does that look a demon to you? Did Samuel not berate Saul for disturbing him? Did he not remind him of his prophecies and warning? Did he not rebuke him for his disobedience? Did he not tell him his hour of final judgement has come and that he and his sons would die same day? Did it not happen exactly? Does a demon reprove anyone of disobedience to God? Does a demon proclaim the judgement of God on those who err as Samuel did Saul? Did the scripture not say that Samuel himself was the one who came up? The woman didn't even know she was interacting with Saul until she saw Samuel.

Did the Scriptures indicate in anyway that it was a fake Samuel?
