solacong: Your answer is on the preceding verses, here you have it
1 The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. 5 ¶ But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, So you agree that the soul dies? |

tctrills: I have addressed your question in my previous comment and pointed you to Paul's writings in Galatians 3.19.
But now let me understand your own point of view. Are you saying that before 2000 years ago, men could come unto the Father directly then Jesus came 2000 years ago and we lost that ability? We now depend on him to reach God? Because, according to you, Moses could come unto God without Christ, same could Abraham, Abel and all the holy prophets So I ask, why did man lose his ability to come unto God directly 2000 years ago. Since according to you, Christ was wrong in saying no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. He was supposed to say, from now on, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Again, if men of old could come to the Father without Christ, that what was the purpose of his coming? Because from your view point, he was not really needed. Oga I never said that christ was wrong in John 14:6. In the Old testament, Christ was not the mediator. Moses was the mediator between God and the people of isrealites. Faithful servants of old were not required to put faith in Jesus to have a Relationship with the Almighty God Jehovah. After Jesus came to the earth, no man could come to the father without Jesus in the New covenant which Jesus is the mediator of. |

MrPRevailer: Obviously obvious bro. They are operating seperately. But it first started with both coming out from the Father.
We humans are limited in our ability to do that. But occult people can pull it off to an extent, with astral projection or soul travel. So who is greater between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit since the son and holy spirit came out from the Father? The flesh and blood returns to dust. The Soul leaves the body. Either goes at lightening speed to Heaven or falls into the pit in the Earth a.k.a Hellfire. Depending on where one's name is found at the point of death.
The soul will be given a new spiritual body. The glorious body of the Saints will be in heaven awaiting the new Heaven. The damned souls of sinners will be in Hellfire awaiting the Lake of fire.
It seems the spirit of man remains sleeping in the dust of the Earth. Because there is a resurrection of the Saints that happens in the day of Rapture. And in the resurrection of the damned. The Soul and spirit will unite in the day of judgement. Where does the Bible teach that the soul leaves the body after death? If the soul of a man does not die when a man dies, How can you explain Ezekiel 18:4 below?

tctrills: But I showed you. Christ says no man can come to the father except through him. Moses and all the others came to the father. Clearly, no matter what I show you, you would doubt so it's of no use. Oga Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant not the old one. So therefore anyone under the new covenant cannot come to the father except through Christ. the bible never gave any human the title of mediator of the old testament. We have only one mediator according to your Bible. Oga Galatians 3:19 and John 1:17 shows that Moses was the mediator between God and the isrealites. Hebrews 9:15 shows that Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant. Again even Christians in the bible were baptized unto John so it's no big deal. And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Acts 19:5 shows that those who did John's baptism had to be baptized again into Christ to be called Christians. He never called Jesus Christ a lifeless rock but he tells you that the Children of Israel depended on Christ to reach the promise land. Without the rock, (Christ) they would have perished. Paul did not say that Christ was the literal rock that isrealites drank from.....Paul clearly stated that the Rock followed the isrealites. He did not say that the isrealites followed the Rock. The Rock symbolizes Christ for Christians because Christ is the source of spiritual water for Christians.

tctrills: You just called Christ a liar and you seem to be smarter than Christ. If Jesus meant that only men who were born after him, he would not have said No Man. He doesn't make mistakes. So I prefer to believe Christ and disbelieve you. Please don't blame me for choosing Christ's words over yours. Again 1 Corinthians 10:4 that verse clearly says Jesus was the rock. So again, you are wrong.
1 Corinthians 10:4 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Please read your Bible 😂😂😂After you have failed to show where Moses followed christ. Who is the Mediator of the old covenant and who is the mediator of the new covenant? You would understand the context of John 14:6 if you get the answer to that question. Why did Paul say in 1 Corinthians 10:2 that the isrealites were baptized into Moses instead of Christ? In 1 Corinthians 10:4, Did Paul meant that Jesus was the lifeless Rock that gave the isrealites water or that Christ symbolized that rock for Christians? Did Paul say in 1 Corinthians 10:4 that the Isrealites followed the Rock that gave them water or that the Rock followed them? Which one? |
Christianity Etc › Re: JW 005 What Is The Difference Between Christians And Jehovah's Witnesses? by Michael547(m): 9:07pm On Aug 31, 2024 |
tctrills: Do you believe Jesus Christ does not lie? If you do, then why ask this question when Jesus Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. This obviously includes Moses and every person who had a true relationship with God. They all came through Christ. Again read 1 Corinthians 10:4
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. It was Christ that led the children of Israel to their promise land. So the question is do you believe Christ or not? Oga John 14:6 is part of the law of christ for those who want to have a relationship with his father under the new covenant. It has nothing to do with the mosaic law which moses was the mediator of. In the mosaic law, Moses was the mediator between the isrealites and God not christ. Hebrews 9:5 shows that christ is the mediator of the new covenant. 1 Corinthians 10:4 likens Jesus to a rock that gives water. It does not say that Jesus was the Rock which was an inanimate object. The water That Jesus gives is spiritual according to John 7:37 not the physical water that the isrealites drank. Don't twist Paul's words. |

tctrills: The word Christian was invented only after his death so your question is not relevant. Are you saying that any of his followers who died before the word was invented is not a Christian? According to this your question, Stephen is not a Christian because he died before the word or the nickname was invented Oga Stephen was a follower of christ and was part of the church which was under the law of christ. Stephen was therefore a Christian. |

tctrills: The bible never says you need to know Jesus as a person. You and I never knew Jesus as a person neither did the bible teach that only those under the new testament are christians. Let's not add a new meaning to being a Christian. The most important teaching of Jesus Christ is for us to believe in him and it's clear that they did. He was their Lord according to David. Oga I never knew Jesus as person but his earthly records are in the bible and he has established the church in which he is the head of it. Show me where the bible called faithful men of old Christians so that we can know who is adding to the Bible or giving a new meaning to the word 'Christian'. |

Now, you have seen that Peter and Paul also responded to witches and now you have changed post to be asking a very stupid and foolish mad question that "Peter and Paul communicate with the dead through a witch"
Did you read that Samuel went to communicate with the dead through a witch? No.
But maybe in your mad lying.jw bible, it is what you people read which is why you are mad and ask very stupid and mad questions. Oga Saul's sin was not talking to a witch. His sin was trying to communicate with the dead through a witch medium which God Forbade in Deuteronomy 10:18. Samuel would never have responded to saul through a witch medium. It was forbidden by God. |
The question of what part of a person goes to hell after death is a topic that has been interpreted in various ways within Christian theology, and different denominations may have differing views. Here's a general overview based on biblical references:
1. The Soul and Spirit: According to many Christian interpretations, it is the soul (or spirit) that would go to hell or heaven, not the physical body. This view is often supported by passages such as: Matthew 10:28: "Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." This verse suggests that the soul is distinct from the body and can experience punishment in hell. Luke 16:19-31 (The Rich Man and Lazarus): This parable describes the rich man suffering in Hades after death, implying a continued existence of the soul after physical death.
2. Resurrection and Judgment: Christian theology also teaches that at the end of time, there will be a resurrection of the dead and a final judgment, where both the righteous and the wicked will be judged: Revelation 20:12-15: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened... Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." This passage suggests that, ultimately, the whole person (body and soul) could be subject to judgment and either eternal life or the second death (often interpreted as hell).
3. The Nature of Hell: In terms of what hell is, there are different interpretations, ranging from a place of eternal conscious torment to a state of separation from God or even annihilation (the complete destruction of the soul): 2 Thessalonians 1:9: "They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might." Matthew 25:46: "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
According to traditional Christian teaching, based on these biblical references, it is primarily the soul that goes to hell after death, experiencing separation from God or punishment. The body is thought to remain in the grave until the resurrection at the final judgment, when both body and soul may be reunited to face eternal life or eternal punishment.
Is the soul and spirit the same? According to Matthew 10:28 that you quoted, can the soul be destroyed?
Was the Parable of the rich man and Lazarus a true life story? If yes, where did the soul of Lazarus the brother to Mary and Martha go when he died?
Where did Jesus indicate in the parable that the rich man and Lazarus soul was separated from their body? |

tctrills: A follower of Christ for example David
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Just like you and I, Jesus Christ is his Lord. Same with all the Prophets, they all looked into the coming of Christ. He is their Lord just as he is our Lord Though they did not see Jesus Christ, like us, the obtained his promises by faith in him Heb 6.12-13 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Them of old all died but because of their faith in him, they receive salvation just like you and I. Heb 11.13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Who was the first LORD that David referred to in psalm 110:1? Did faithful servants of old like Abraham and david put faith in Jesus Christ or they put faith in the promise of the coming messiah by the Almighty God who was greater than Jesus? |
