Apart from the incident related above, many other stories about amazing and supernatural deliverances through the protection that can only come through the Lord Jesus abound. The psalmist highlighted the benefits of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High - that is, living under His protective care and doing His will always. This, according to the psalmist will bring about deliverance from evil arrows and darts of the wicked, long life, victory and peace. The testimony is the same as the Lord protected and shielded the Israelites from the many dangers in the wilderness and saw them through many barriers until they got to the Promised Land.

Life is filled with problems, some small and some great. Psalm 91 has been and continues to be a source of strength, hope, promise and encouragement. This means that you should not lose heart when you come to the end of your resources and the problem you face looms as large as ever. Be encouraged, because God is working out a deal greater than you can ever imagine. Remember Joseph.

So are you saying that so called Christian soldiers could take the bible to wars to protect themselves instead of going with bullet proof vests?

I am going to give you a quote from the Bible which was about an experience Paul partially to some people in a land called Corinth.

It is gotten from 2 Corinthians 12:2.

"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows."

Question Brief: This is Paul talking about the idea of a person leaving his body to explore places.

Question: What do you or would you make of what Paul is talking g about here?

Good. When Paul was talking about the idea of a person leaving his body, where did paul indicate in that verse that he was referring to an isolated entity called 'soul' as the one making the journey?

Looking at that verse again, can't we also say that Paul was saying that it was possible that a person could go to the third heaven with his body?

Okay. Give me the following "scientifically provens" :

1: Moses being given 10 commandments

2: Mary's 'auto' pregnancy

3: John's Prophecy

Etc




In several Biblical scriptures and Scientific Journals, works and experiments.

I never claimed every event in the bible can be scientifically proven.
I am telling you that the idea that humans have souls that can be conscious outside the body is neither backed by the bible or science. If you don't agree, show me where the bible or science says so?

The above statements you've made are either recorder in the bible or are scientifically proven. Where does science or the bible teach that human have souls that could leave the body and be conscious and come back to the body?

Are you asking this question because you want to learn about the topic or because you want to discredit speaking in tongues since you don't believe it??
The latter seems to be your reason.
If you have indeed read and understood the Acts 2 you're quoting, and other scriptures on the subject, you'll know that NO ONE ever preached to unbelievers in their native tongues. Go and read it again and correct your question if there still is.

Below in the screenshot is Acts 2:4, 11. What were the wonderful works of God that the disciples were speaking in people's tongues by the Holy Spirit?

Ignorance all over the thread. While i agree that most of the speaking in tongues you hear are not real, speaking in tongues is not limited to human language. What exactly is the sense in speaking in a human language that neither you nor the people that may hear you don't understand? Speaking in tongues is primarily to God. The speaking in tongues to men either comes as a human language or with interpretation. i speak English, you speak English, why should the Holy Spirit make you speak Spanish to me? Is it a showboat exercise or what?

If speaking or praying in an unknown tongue is speaking primarily to God, why should the person's prayer be audible to others without an interpreter in an effort to convince others that he or she has the gift of speaking In unknown tongues?
Should the person not pray in 'silence' to himself and God as stated in 1Cor 14:28?

There's speaking in other tongues (other languages - maybe Igbo or Russian). There's speaking in unknown tongues - that no one understands except you have the gift of interpretation of tongues.

Most of what you hear, in my opinion, is nonsense.

But I myself did not believe speaking in tongues was genuine until I got the gift myself. And what I can tell you - it's not repeating a particular phrase every time like you hear most people do. I might not repeat any phrase if I continue for an hour. In fact, I could tell that the "language" varies on different occasions. But it might also be same. And the "tongues" sound different each time the prayer subject changes in my heart.
Whenever I do, there's this great peace I experience for the rest of the day.

I only do this privately when I'm praying alone. Because it's between me and God.

Since you have the gift of speaking In tongues, do you also practice what is recorded in the account of Acts 2:4, 11 by preaching to unbelievers in their native tongues that you've never learnt before?
