NewSheriff: Wow thanks for the heads-up. I didn't know it's against the law to pay for school fees with the money one makes.
Just that the school I'm applying to though! CAD $7k+ every semester (4 months). That's some money in naira. I thought I could shoulder the bills when I get there or at least pay half of the fees. Thanks for replying It's not illegal to pay your fees from the money you make. Dont get it wrong. You wont be able to get enough hours to pay for school fees. Thats the point. Cant wait for summer to get employed *sigh |

adeyemidare: I did and last week I received "sorry...... Wish you best" reply from U of T and Manitoba. Guess team 2017 activating. Am a better person with improved knowledge in the process now than before. Thank God for that.
Relax or mail the department. You sure get a positive reply by God's grace. Thanks for your response. What program did you apply for? |

NittaJ: Carleton Okay! I guess its Ottawa U that is very strict about college degrees. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by MichaelFinn: 2:24am On Apr 17, 2016 |
NittaJ: Funny my undergrad is in Law, my postgrad certificate in business intelligence (which I only did for one semester mind u) and Masters in Innovation Technology, but I have IT experience
So in a nutshell what I'm saying is that it's not always 1 + 1 = 2. Sometimes u gotta try and see how things can work to your advantage!
Nuff said That's good. I guess these things are never certain. Well thanks for clearing the air. What Uni are you in ? |

Avalon316: Kindly list the schools in Canada that accept guys with 2.2. I wrote to lots of schools and they were clear with their replies - "No you do not qualify "
Thanks. I'm sorry I cannot help you with this request. Kindly do your research. Check previous threads you will find some info. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by MichaelFinn: 2:00am On Apr 17, 2016 |
NittaJ: Sure they will evaluate you using your undergrad degree. But if u have some work experience from naija, added to your pgd certificate, you can get a Masters. Infact i got a Masters admission this winter even though I first came in for a post graduate certificate course and minimum requirement was 2:1, but my bsc was 2:2
I know it's God's favour. But I also submitted my first semester post graduate certificate transcript which was all As, and got admitted. Currently doing my masters now.
So don't discourage anyone. If u can come in with post graduate certificate then do, but make sure u do very well so that ur grades, along with your Bachelor's degree can upgrade ur chances of getting a masters admission.
My 2 kobo Okay! I have a few questions. What PGD course did you take, what was your undergrad in, and program did you apply for Masters? |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by MichaelFinn: 12:51am On Apr 17, 2016 |
Just to clear things up. If can graduated with a 2:2 you can still do a Masters Degree. If you intend to go to College in Canada fine. But, dont do a PGD in College hoping to later do a Masters Degree in a university. They will still evaluate you based your undergrad degree.

Hello People,
I see a lot of TRV are coming through this period. I guess the storm is calm now unlike August-September when people were been refused after medicals. I pray that as more of you apply your application would come with God Speed and will be hassle free.
For those of you coming to the cold regions in Canada this winter period, I admonish you to baff-up (Get as much winter gear as you can). No jokes people the cold is real. Frostbite is not friendly. Also, its winter solstice (its gets dark at 4:30PM and the sun doesn't rise till 7:30AM). You know how in Nigeria we're already tired and ready to go to bed once its dark outside? LOL! |

12inches1: hi everyone. im so downcast in the u.s. I simply cannot pay my fees. CBN is being unfair to us. It makes me hate this country called Nigeria even more. Am I the only international student? Why must I go thru so much stress just to pay my fees? Is there any other way one can pay fees in the u.s besides using the form A as the school doesnt allow you to wire money. What does wiring money even mean. Can someone please explain? i have till tuesday to pay The best you can do is send the money in your account to someone you know in Nigeria. Let them fill the form with the necessary details and submit at a bank. I'm also in the predicament. But what you really do ? |

It's disheartening to believe that a lot of people here are applying for TRV but can't take the pains to read a few pages before asking questions. Please I would like to ask, What are you going to do in Canada if you can't find past post?
Some of us fed off the daily post on this thread everyday, applied for TRV and got it. Please do yourself a favor and start reading. We all can prove the adage that says "if you want to hide something from a black man, put in it a book" isn't true. |

For people who got refused after medicals. Can you kindly state;
The Province: & Program Level (Masters, PGD, Adv. Diploma, Diploma or U.G):
I think there should be a common factor. |

wayaa007: For me, I think Canada needs you, as much as you need thm. But they just wanna be sure that you are not a liability, truth is even a master degree student, can equally decide not to return to Nigeria. SOP or no SOP, In my own opinion, I just feel, God should help each applicant here to convey his or her reasons to the V.O's, coz my guy, even with a very strong SOP, a V.O can come to office on a bad morning and tick all possible reasons for denial. Well a Masters Degree is a plus. In most province a Masters Degree student qualifies for a PR after school "if such an individual has a good result afterwards" And yes you're right. GRACE is needed. If a VO has a bad morning and an applicant takes the heat irrespective of how good his/her application is, then na village things bi that. God forbid! |

wayaa007: Well, MichaelFinn, some have 3rd class degrees, some want to switch from one course to another, some need the knowledge. Well, I don't think VOs understand this except the applicant is able to write an extremely convincing SOP. With documents to backup such an application. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by MichaelFinn: 11:00am On Aug 07, 2015 |
I'm not a VO. I don't know anything about TRV. But somethings are only logical. If you're 22 and above, married with kids or have a job with ample working experience why would you want to go to Canada for an Advance Diploma, Diploma or PGD? It's glaring that you won't want to come back.
Anybody with a different opinion can argue this with me. I'm open to a debate. |
