Please house, is it compulsory to do upfront medicals if one wants to go via paper route?

No Ma, it's not compulsory. People do upfront medical to expedite their visa processing.

My simple advise.

With a view not to sound repetitive,

1) No matter the admission offer you have (bsc, diploma, pgc, pgd, msc, phd), ensure you have an airtight application. Heck, I recently read a case where a phd applicant was refused visa even with funding because she failed to specify the funding details in her sop and didnt attach the funding offer(she thought she did). She later re applied and got it. Moral: cross check everything before submission, never assume the VO will request for any missing document that might favour you. The more the merrier.
2) Ensure there is some level of progression with respect to your academic offer. This will save you the stress of trying so much to explain the reason why you are going for your course. We keep saying this, things are changing, VOs are humans still leaving in this world, so they know too.

3)Availability of funds is not a criteria to be given VISA. It is one of rhe requirements. As such let every factor work hand in hand for your good.

4) By all means seek alternatives. There are many roads to a destination.

Do have a lovely day.

Also, I will advised anyone who has been refused to request the GCMS File. This will guide you to reshape your next application and refire.

You can't do the same thing twice and expect a different result.

pls this is very urgent guys, pls pls is it possible for one to still submit his/her application a week or so after the deadline for application for u of ottawa ... thanks, in anticipation of ur response
nb: i was delayed by the english test

As already stated by other members. It's best you wait for the next admission cycle.

But why did you feel the need to write an English test ?

Bros how far. Am sure you are aware not more than 5 PGD/C got TRV on this thread last year. Bro, Its so difficult now. What Michv is just saying is to have a plan B. The plan B is not just PGD/C alone but even masters+PhD+funding cos these VOs are not predictable anymore.

You indeed have a point. But you will agree with me that not everyone who applies for TRV is on this forum. Some people don't even know about this thread. That been said it's good to have options in case PGD/C doesn't work out.

It was last year. I see things have changed this year. Sometime last year there was a period when a lot of people with PGD applications were denied. Some people still got approved regardless.

I will appreciate it if you're mature enough to address me. The point of forums like this is to help people. If you made a point I didn't agree with, it is your responsibility (that's if you're responsible cuz clearly I don't think so) to state your points clearly. Kindly refrain from being negative without critically understanding the persons options.

I don't think anyone is saying going to college is a bad option. Getting a study visa with a college admission is what they are concerned about. We have seen it from past experiences that it is quite difficult and ones application needs to have that extra oomph before it gets approved.

I won't debate on the denial rate for college programs because I haven't been on the forum since part 10 when I applied. But I believe that most of the people that applied to colleges in the recent times all seemed to the VO that they weren't going to Canada to study or had no intentions of coming back.

My point is, Masters or PGD if your application is fishy you will get denied.

Lol...is this supposed to be a debate ?

Well it could be a debate lol! But then, it helps people to understand that going to College out here is not a bad option. I believe it has to do with the way you package your application.

Boss,
It is not a question of VO or agent. What @michV is trying to say is, the person in question has a very slim chance of been granted visa.

Since S/he has a Bsc, s/he should spread his or her tentacles.

Yes, the case you mentioned above does happen but more often than not it is always 10/100...

Quoting the text in BOLD @michV seemed pretty negative about her chances. I'm here in Canada and I have met different people here. Most of them who finished from Nigerian Universities with 2nd Class Upper went to college. Most of them even have jobs already and some got PR. So unless you're in the system I don't think you should discourage or bring your negativity here.

Which is a better option studying PDG or Masters and why?

I will appreciate it if people who have studied or currently studying in Canada can share their views.

From my above highlighted, technically i don't think you stand any chance. All I see is ''purpose of visit refusal''. I may sound blunt but it is the gospel truth I make onto you.

I would want to seize this opportunity to encourage some of you guys here especially those who must have applied with pgd/c and got refused once/twice as the case may be. The broken heart you get when refused as a result that your second class lower degree result couldn't get you masters admission in Canada and you just want to spend millions for PGD. I would want to advice such fellows to narrow their search to Europe, especially GERMANY and embrace the free tuition education in their education even in masters. As long as your CPGA is from 3.0 or better in our grading system and schools have your programs completely(100%) taught in English, you stand a big chance. Why not embrace this opportunity than continuously giving yourself emotional pains. Don't tell me language barrier b/c your international program is never taught in German and it is also easier to learn the language if you know you don't want to continue staying in naija.

I made similar post last year. 6 guys who were silent readers on this canada thread after being refused are in Germany studying their masters program, tuition free, working and earning Euros, I got to join them in their international group c*** this morning as one sent me PM yesterday. One on their behalf, who left last month told me michV that your brought hope to my life. I may want to tell you that the very same guy had 3rd class and he is now in one of the top 15 schools in Germany studying masters right now. This morning he called me again and said michV send me your account number,to be contd wink .. Germany is the giant amidst the European nations and ranked no.3 in their educational system globally. Those going for pdg/pgc on here and getting refused for visa should embrace this opportunity.
Hello Sir, Are you're a VO or an Agent? Why're you so conclusive that she doesn't stand a chance In as much as your German option might not be a bad idea don't discourage people. I know someone in Canada here who has B.Sc and M.Sc from the U.K and is studying an Graduate Diploma Program in Project Management Program. Please can you explain why the VO granted her a Visa?

Hello Family, Please i need your candid advice. I just got my TRV with a sept 2016 admission letter but i want to defer to January 2017. will that affect me in anyway at the POE. Has anyone done this recently??

I don't think so. As long as you got your deferment letter from the school. At POE as long as your paid your tuition for the semester they don't have problem with you.

Bro here's mine. I studied mass comm initially at under graduate level in naija but the mass comm industry isn't exactly inspiring.

I then went to India for a year to study IT courses in a bid to switch careers (I've always loved computers and working with them) and I ended up getting 1 certification and about 13 trainings in networking and related areas.I plan on writing about 9 more certifications before applying to Canada for either pgc in information network security or information technology

In your own honest opinion, submitting the certifications alongside my application and probably a good SoP; what chances do I have using the mass comm as a yard stick having In mind the lack of correlation between mass comm and IT? How would the CiC people probably look at it?

All the above is after reasonably proving that I have the required funds of course

Thank you smiley

Get as many certifications as you want. It will go a long way to help with your application. Make sure you're not already doing some courses that will be part of intended program of study. Else, why're you coming to Canada? You dig??

Can you decide to work with a Pgc after completion without options for a masters?

The question should ask is: Would I get a job after my PGD/PGC? The question is Yes and No.

Yes: If you study a program that has got a high demand for the attained skill in the province you plan to study.

Bottomline is, you don't need a Masters program to get a good job. PGD/PDC gives you specialization in a certain field. My idea is, be sure you're picking the right program or you will be stuck.

Someone might have a different opinion though.

God bless u bro for this comment. but I know of someone that applied for a PGD program in UniOttawa for Project management and he wasn't given an offer. he got 3.30 CGPA. I even told him to screen shot the mail to me.

Did he study a related program in his undergrad? Does he have relevant work experience in Project Management. Project Management is taken very serious in this place. The requirements for PMP alone is deep. He should try some other program.

... I was so inquisitive I had to confirm from Uni Ottawa site for electronic business technology. bros abeg no school in Canada accepts less than a 2.1 for masters and the 2.1 must be a very strong one except are ready to keep spending 26,000 naira = 100 Canadian dollars to each schools. 3.73 is almost 3.75 CGPA so he could try out some schools but my bro e too hard walahi. I'm just been very sincere with u

Let me set the facts straight so you understand...

Okay with my very low CGPA I applied for a PGD program. The school got back to me and offered me other options. Their reason was, they were not offering PGD in that school year I applied for. I contacted the school and "a guy (I also met him in person later when I moved here)" spoke to me and advised me that System Science was suitable for my grade. EBT was part of the programs that were offered. I opted for System Science which I'm currently studying and in my second year.

1. Will my single application for a Study Permit cover an application for TRV, or should I also fill an application for TRV along side my application for a TRV.

2. Like I said am JJC, so please where can I get the Police Character Certificate in Lagos

3. When should I proceed with the Medical? should I do at the time of application or should I wait for them to request.
