The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has set and announced the date for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)


The JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, announced this during an ongoing stakeholders’ meeting, saying that the dates were chosen “taking into cognizance the dates of other public examinations.”
The JAMB registrar said the 2018 UTME examination exercise would commence from March 9 to March 17, 2018.
JAMB said the mock examination would come up by January 22 and end by january 27, adding that the application fee remains N5000 while the cost of registration for foreign candidates has been slashed from over 100 dollars to 20 dollars.

A 32-year-old woman in her prime, Kate Ude, has implore

an FCT High Court, Jabi to dissolve her four-year-old marriage to her husband, Michael Ude, over his “malfunctioning manhood”.
Kate alleged that Michael’s manhood always had inconsistent erection and that anytime the manhood became erect, he ejaculated within few seconds.
She also alleged that the man did not make known his health status before the consummation of the marriage which took place in Calabar, Cross River, in 2014.
The petitioner also said that during her traditional marriage, Michael did not show up as he was represented by his younger brother.
Kate also said that it was at the registry that she got to know him very well and prayed the court to nullify the marriage.

OAP freeze stressed that Pastor Adeboye has made a mockery of christianity and shamed his scriptural knowledge with such a statement.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has described as wild allegation the claims that it intends to disrupt the Anambra governorship election on Saturday.
The group said it is not true that it plans to disrupt the election, saying that its only plan is to boycott the election because it will not be anything different from others that have been conducted in Nigeria.
It said, “Wild, unfounded and foolish accusations about IPOB intending to disrupt the polls on Saturday as peddled by politicians, is not only baseless but completely unfounded.”
The group said instead of watching out for disturbances from IPOB, Anambra people should better be careful of security agents who have been despatched to the state to kill and maim it’s citizens.
“What the good people of Anambra State should watch out for is the well known rigging antics of INEC. We insist on total boycott of all elections because voting in Anambra or any other elections in Nigeria is an exercise in futility because Aso Rock have already decided who they want sworn in as Anambra governor despite the warm words of free and fair elections emanating from APC praise singers in the South East.
“A country like Nigeria riddled with institutionalised injustice cannot conduct a free and fair elections. No free and fair elections has ever been conducted in Nigeria’s history, so Anambra State cannot be an exception. Risking ones life to go and vote on Saturday, with trigger happy Hausa Fulani soldiers looking for Biafrans to kill, is a risky adventure not worth undertaking by any sane person.”
IPOB spoke further, saying, “That they have perfected plans to rig the upcoming Anambra State Governorship election in favour of the most loyal Hausa Fulani slave among the contenders is not a secret.
“IPOB Intelligence Unit have uncovered plans by APC to import voters from Imo State with the help of Rochas Okorocha. Willie Obiano on the other hand is working hand in hand with Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to bus in Northern youths resident in the state into Anambra to vote for Willie Obiano as a reward for signing up to the war against IPOB.
“At this moment, they have concluded plans to declare the APC candidate winner, whether people vote or not. What this means is that our vote doesn’t count. Voting is tantamount to legitimising illegitimacy,” IPOB said.
The group warned Anambra people that the same politicians who were urging them to go ahead and cast their votes were the same people that conspired with Aso Rock cabal to bring death to the southeast through Operation Python Dance II. “We hereby warn all commercial vehicle operators to please stay away from Anambra State starting from the evening of the 17th of November because any vehicle seen will be regarded as hostile and working to subvert the will of the people.
“On no account must any vehicles pass through Anambra State because some politicians at the payroll of Fulani caliphate are hell bent on causing trouble on the 18th by importing alien voters into Anambra State.
“We are fully aware that all soldiers and police drafted into Anambra State have been brought ostensibly to facilitate the rigging of the election and to kill as many people as possible. So any vehicle seen on the road will be considered a threat to their plans to rig the election and the occupants of such vehicles will be shot dead.
“Therefore, we advise every body to stay in doors on that fateful day in Anambra State and to desist from driving through the state from 5pm on Friday the 17th of November to 6pm on Saturday the 18th,” the release read.

(HTML) means Hypertext Markup Language
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language used to create web page documents. There are a few versions of HTML in use today: HTML 4.01 is the most firmly established and the newer, more robust HTML5 is gaining steam and browser support. Both versions have a stricter implementation called XHTML (eXtensible HTML), which is essentially the same language with much stricter syntax rules.
HTML is not a programming language; it is a markup language, which means it is a system for identifying and describing the various components of a document such as headings, paragraphs, and lists. The markup indicates the document’s underlying structure (you can think of it as a detailed, machine readable outline). You don’t need programming skills—only patience and common sense—to write HTML.
The best way to learn HTML is to write out some pages by hand, as we will be doing in the exercises in this book. If you end up working in web production, you’ll live and breathe HTML. But even hobbyists will benefit from knowing what is going on under the hood. The good news is that it’s simple to learn the basics.

(CSS ) SIMPLE MEANS Cascading Style Sheets
While HTML is used to describe the content in a web page, it is Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) that describe how that content should look.
In the webdesign biz, the way the page looks is known as its presentation. That means fonts, colors, background images, line spacing, page layout, and so on… all controlled with CSS. With the newest version (CSS3), you can even add special effects and basic animation to your page.
CSS also provides methods for controlling how documents will be presented in contexts other than the traditional desktop browser, such as in print and or on devices with small screen widths. It also has rules for specifying the nonvisual presentation of documents, such as how they will sound when read by a screen reader (although those are not well supported).
Style sheets are also a great tool for automating production because you can change the way an element looks across all the pages in your site by editing a single style sheet document. Style sheets are supported to some degree by all modern browsers.
Although it is possible to publish web pages using HTML alone, you’ll probably want to take on style sheets so you’re not stuck with the browser’s default styles. If you’re looking into designing websites professionally, proficiency at style sheets is mandatory.

Nigerian R&B singer and actor, Oluwabankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has just survived cancer of the skin.
Banky shared the news via his Intagram page, where he also announced that this is actually his third surgery on the same ailment, adding that he has been away taking treatment.





He wrote “A wise man once said this: “Scars. A sign that you had been hurt. A sign that you had been healed.” Scroll through the pictures to see mine.
“I’m sharing these because they’re proof of what God has brought me through. And because somewhere out there, I know there’s someone who needs to hear this.
“For those who’ve been wondering why I’ve been away so long..I had my 3rd surgery on a rare strain of skin cancer tumours in my shoulder last month. The first 2 times were over 10 yrs ago, then it recently resurfaced. But this isn’t a sad story as much as it is a reminder, and a testimony.
“A reminder that you should never take life for granted. You only get 1 shot. Some people went to sleep and never woke up. Many others have lost the battle to cancer and other illnesses. Many are still fighting.
“You never know when your time will be up so don’t waste another minute. It’s also a testimony about the goodness of God. I think I had to go through this again to remember how merciful God is to me; Lord knows I don’t deserve it but He saves me time and again anyway. I keep saying I need to write a book. I really, really do.
“The past few weeks of recovery have been tough, but beautiful. I’m finally back on my feet, feeling stronger and ready to get back to life.

The outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Rahamon Bello, has announced that only 8,000 applicants would secure admission in the institution in the 2017/2018 academic session.
Bellow said although 32,000 applicants to the university scored 200 marks and above in this year’s Unified Tertiary matriculation examination (UTME), the school would only admit 8,000.

Bello whose tenure as vice chancellor expires on November 11 explained that the aim was to promote excellence.
“We know what goes on in our public examinations. That is why we insist on candidates undertaking our post UTME and scoring at least 40 per cent,’’ he said.
“We admit the best so that we can produce the best,” he told newsmen on Thursday.
He said that the university held 75 inaugural lectures during his five-year tenure in an effort to promote scholarship.

Speaking further, the professor of chemical engineering, noted that the university had held a total of 374 inaugural lectures since its existence.
“They just don’t come and get them; the process of becoming a professor in UNILAG is very tedious.

It was gathered that Toyin Lawani asked her lawyer to write petitions against him, stating he worked for her and he is selling cream to all her customers.

He also announced that registration for the exams would commence before the end of November, urging prospective candidates to visit the board’s website, download JAMB app, syllabus and brochures.

He said these during an interactive session with CTB owners from across the country.

Oloyede said: “We have learnt some lessons from the last year’s experience and therefore introduced some measures that will further add to the integrity of the registration process and the conduct of the examination.
“Four example, we discovered last year and this year that some electronic devices such as Pens, wrist watches, were used to perpetrate exam malpractices.“We are also going to introduce some detective devices to ensure that those who plan to cheat inside the examination halls are frustrated.
“We willl not rest ourselves. As they are planning, we are also planning not allow them to play any old tricks. We know they will come up with new tricks but we will outwit them”/
Oloyede disclosed that the 71 CBT centers found to be culpable during the last exercise were either suspended or banned, with the board prosecuting some albeit with grievous offences.
Oloyede said the board would henceforth install electric jammers and lens detectors at every CBT to neutralise gadgets candidates may have sneaked into the hall.
He said the board has already registered 617 CBT Centers nationwide, noting that the board is still considering about 50 pending applications.
Oloyede added that each centre will be equipped with 250 computers with additional 25 as back ups.

The camp of former President Goodluck Jonathan has stated that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, is not a Pastor.
This is in reaction to Osinbajo’s claim that Jonathan’s administration did not build any infrastructure for Nigeria but frittered away the nation’s wealth.

The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife has denied news that the institution has concluded plans to increase tuition fees next session.
A statement by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju, explained that the authorities of the University had no intention whatsoever to introduce tuition or increase any fees.
“It has come to the attention of the university management that a very few students have been spreading an unfounded rumour that the management has concluded plans to increase tuition fees next session”, it read.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we wishe to inform the general public, particularly our students, their parents and, or guardians, that Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, is a federal government institution with well- structured administrative organ. It is therefore, not possible to change the fees structure without discussion at the various levels”.

or allegedly refusing to enter a police cell in Ghana, a 29-year-old lady identified as Sarah Darko was lashed by one ASP Emmanuel Osei, the officer in charge of the Dompim police station.
Darko had been arrested in the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality of the Western Region, and sent to the station for allegedly slapping another woman in a marital dispute.
According to her, the police officer first hit her with a plastic object and later with a stick, when she refused to enter the station’s cell.

Narrating her ordeal to Citi News, Sarah explained that “In August this year, I returned from my two months trip to my room to meet my husband and another woman.

Out of anger and frustration, I slapped the woman and she in return hit me with a phone. The matter was taken to an elder in the town where it was amicably settled.

But when we all thought the matter has been put to rest, two months later, with me staying peacefully with my husband, the lady retuned this Wednesday 1st November to my house with three police officers. They told me I was under arrest.

A Nigerian footballer based in Ghana, Misbau Afolabi has been jailed after he broke into a church to steal from worshippers.
Misbau Afolabi a footballer who robbed members of the Tabernacle of Hope Church International of monies, mobile phones and laptop during an all night service has sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by a Circuit court in Accra.
This was after the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh ad found him guilty on the charges of robbery. The court however acquitted Afolabi on the charge of conspiracy to commit crime.
Two other accomplices are said to be at large. Prosecuting, Superintendent of Police Kwaku Bempah said the complainant was Jerry Akotia an Assistant Pastor of the church.
Prosecution said the convict who claims to be footballer residing at Community one Site 10, Tema on January 26, 2013 at about 2:30am the members was having an all night service at the church auditorium when the convict and two others at large wielding a locally manufactured pistol and pump action gun and attacked them.
