Politics › Re: Naira Redesign: Buhari In A Meeting With Emefiele, Governors by Mickykarim: 1:57pm On Feb 07, 2023
DIVINEEVIDENCE:
If its no punishment to the cabal, ask yourself why politicians have turned to emergency voice of the people, criticising the policy at every given opportunity.

Its left for the ordinary man to deposit all his money in the bank.
Once we pass the deadline, the available cash will circulate, achieving economic balance.
If there's serious deficit, its left for the CBN to print more notes representative of the amount that should be in circulation.

Unfortunately, the average Nigerian has no knowledge of macroeconomics and would kick against any policy that does not presently favour him, its future long-term benefits notwithstanding.

To think that Nigerians just about 11 years ago took to the streets massively protesting and destroying lives and properties over removal of fuel subsidy by the Jonathan administration.
IF POLITICIANS WHO CARES AND OR CLAIMED TO CARE ABOUT BOTH THE COUNTRY AND PEOPLE CANNOT SPEAK OUT ABOUT THEIR EXCRUCIATING PAINS FROM GETTING THEIR HARD-EARNED MONEY. YOU SHOULD ASK YOURSELF WHY ARE THEY IN POLITICS.

What has macroeconomics - which i have just discovered that you lack knowledge about, going by your statement - got to do with AVAILABILITY of it?

I DO NOT KNOW YOUR AGE. IF YOU KNOW THE NUMBER OF TIMES Nigeria HAS CONDUCTED THE EXERCISE OF CURRENCY CHANGE AND SEEMLESSLY.

You people should go learn about the history of Nigeria before making unsavory uninformed thoughtless statements about your country.

I HAVE LONG AVERED AND CONCLUDED THAT THE AVERAGE Nigerian IN YOUR CLICHE IS NOT WORTH FIGHTING FOR. YOU ARE NOT EVEN WORTHY OF MY THOUGHT CONSIDERATION, LET ALONE FIGHT FOR YOU. SUCH UNDESIRABLE ELEMENTS, TOO MANY IN OUR MIDST.

Why not ask yourself. The reason for monetary change policy at the same time you the country is having electioneering exercise. Maybe you should spend your time pondering about such question and the reasons why the CBN was neither prepared or ready for the current fallout from the SENSELESS indifferent and meaningless exercise of Naira change at a very wrong inauspicious time.

IF ONLY YOU PEOPLE WILL START USING YOUR BRAINS WELL AND APPROPRIATELY. THERE AND THEN WILL THE COUNTRY BE BETTER FOR THE COUNTRY AND ALL HER PEOPLE.

Yet all they want to continue to scream about is the sound health of Tinubu who continued to move around on his feet and standing for hours to address people at the various political rallies. Meanwhile who have not seen these jokers as much as we have seen ABAT at it.

THEREFORE, WHO IS THE SICK ONE, BUT Kwankwaso AND COMPANY.

Buhari is trying to make it seem the banks are the one hoarding the money while in essence the problem is from the CBN who didn't print enough Currency to match the rate of replacement at the moment...This 200 million you see there is not even enough for one branch in Lagos for one day...this careless act of busting banks will lead to a bank run and it will negatively affect the economy further more
You mean Buhari is working against the banks that he expects to execute his own program.

How sensible and plausible for your statement to make the least sense.

LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE GOD

• Nnamdi Kanu bars brother from making statements
• Members allege organization run like family business
• Overseas chapters in tatters

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, ordered his brother, Prince Emmanuel, to stop making public statements on behalf of himself or the family.

Emmanuel, in January, urged the public to disregard a voice note that had gone viral, alleging that the IPOB Leader was poisoned in detention.

He claimed that he met with the IPOB Leader at the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, where he is currently detained.

Reliable sources gathered by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP that the statement issued by Prince Emmanuel has degenerated into controversies among top members of the group.

Many believed Emmanuel's statement downplayed the health challenges of the leader and the concerns for his safety.

They noted that the leader of the group was miffed by the statement released by his brother and has ordered that he should stop making public statements.

NAOSNP also obtained a series of correspondences between the IPOB leader and members of the group.

A member of the group who pleaded anonymity confirmed this saying: "It is true that Emmanuel has been ordered to stop making statements. This came from Mazi himself. We are working on settling the issue,".

As of the time of filing this report, the outlawed group's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, and spokesperson, Emma Powerful, could not be reached for comments.

INSIDE IPOB's MULTIPLE CRISES

This comes at a time the IPOB is facing crises in different countries including Germany and South Africa, which has led to the expulsion and suspension of members.

Another Kanu's sibling, Kingsley Ezebuiro, who is also known as 'Kanunta', was suspended from the IPOB branch in Germany late January.

Kingsley's suspension was announced in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the group in Germany, Collins Chinedu.

“The lPOB leadership in Germany unanimously suspends him (Kingsley) indefinitely from the family of IPOB in Germany led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with effect from today, the 21st of January 2023,” the statement read.

Kingsley was also accused of engaging in activities that bring disrepute to the IPOB globally.

The group said Kingsley is just an ordinary member of IPOB in Landsberg am Lech, Germany, but has been using his affiliation to the detained IPOB leader, Mr Kanu to gain “unmerited super advantage” and has been placing himself above every IPOB rule.

But Kingsley, in a series of tweets, has debunked news of his suspension, stating that it was masterminded by Chinedu, who he claimed has been expelled.

"I am born for a day like this, Kanunta Kanu is very much around” This is to inform the general public that Mr Collins Chinedu, was officially expelled from #IpobfamilyGermany by #MaziNnamdiKanu on 28:11:2022 through @AloyEjimakor . And his successor is Mazi OGBONNA ABRAHAM," he wrote on Twitter.

In another codified tweet, the IPOB leader's brother challenged Chinedu for not wanting to relinquish his position.

“After all, I am not being paid for serving IPOB - yes you are right. But why do you put up a fight when you’re asked to leave your position?" Kingsley asked.

LIKE GERMANY, LIKE SOUTH AFRICA

Also in January, the South African branch of the group suspended some members for anti-IPOB activities.

This, NAOSNP gathered, led to the creation of a parallel organisation within the South African branch.

The suspended members have registered another IPOB branch in Western Cape under which they operate.

But the South African national coordinator, Ogechukwu Isu, has countered the creation of the parallel group.

He reiterated that all communication and requests for marches or any public gathering will only be made through the official Head Office in South Africa based in Johannesburg, Braamfontein.

"It has come to our attention that certain members in various provinces who have been suspended for not abiding by the constitution and code of conduct of the organisation (POB), are going around masquerading and presenting themselves and holding, marches, protests or events in the name of IPOB This is most regrettable and unfortunate because unsuspecting people have been caught unawares and misled by these acts of the imposters concerned.

There is only one IPOB registered with the CIPC with the registration numbers 2019/593089/08 or further with registration number 2022/618519/08, which is the NPC registration and Welfare registration but to all intents and purposes referring to the same organisation," he stated.

A FAMILY BUSINESS?

Furthermore, It was gathered that Kanu, who is very unhappy with the crisis in the group, also instructed his brother, Emmanuel to confirm the status of some foreign bank accounts owned by the group from Kingsley adding that they should also give feedback on the amount of funds held in them.

NAOSNP gathered that the crisis in Germany which led to Kingsley's suspension was also partly caused by the discovery of over 700,000 Euros stockpiled in one of the organisation's account managed by him.

Politics › Re: New Naira: CBN Insists On Jan 31, Buhari Snubs Governors, Monarchs by Mickykarim: 5:28am On Jan 29, 2023
adenigga:
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Saturday, reiterated his earlier position that there was no going back on the naira redesign project and ruled out the extension of the January 31 deadline for the old N1,000, N500 and N200 to cease from being legal tender.

The President’s position was supported by the Central Bank of Nigeria, which insisted that the deadline would not be extended.

This is coming at a time when stakeholders, including the 36 state governors, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Arewa Consultative Forum and bank customers, are calling for a review of the policy and an extension of the deadline.

Buhari explained that the currency redesign was not meant to target innocent citizens, but corrupt people and terror financiers hoarding illicit funds.

He also assured Nigerians that the government would ensure that they and their businesses would face no harm from disruptions caused to the entire supply chain arising from the currency redesign.

A statement on Saturday by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said Buhari was reacting to reports of long queues of people waiting for hours for their turn to deposit old notes and get new ones.

The statement was titled, ‘Government will eliminate squeeze, chaos in currency swap, President Buhari assures’.

Buhari reiterated that the currency change was aimed at people hoarding illicit funds and not the common man.

He said the changes had become necessary to prevent counterfeits, corruption and terrorist funding as well as to stabilise and strengthen the economy.

The statement read in part, “While taking note that the poorest section of society is facing hardship as they often keep hard cash at home for various expenses, President Buhari gave strong assurances that the government would not leave them to their own fate.

“He reiterated that a number of initiatives by the central bank and all commercial banks are underway to speed up distribution of the new notes and do all that is necessary to forestall cash squeeze and chaos.”

The President’s explanation may have been in reaction to the position of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, who last Wednesday alleged that the currency change and the lingering fuel scarcity were parts of plans to sabotage the February election and prevent his imminent victory.

Similarly, the CBN, on Saturday, insisted that the January 31 deadline for the validity of the old naira notes remained unchanged.

Refusing to yield to pressure to extend the deadline, the apex bank, via its verified Twitter handle, insisted that the deadline was sacrosanct.

Reposting a video of the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, from the just concluded Monetary Policy Committee meeting, the apex bank said, “Deadline for the return of old series of 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes remains January 31, 2023.”

Emefiele had said after the MPC meeting, “Unfortunately, I don’t have good news for those who feel we should shift the deadline; my apologies.

“The reason is because, just like the President has said on more than two occasions and even to some people privately, 100 days is more than enough for anybody who has the old currency to deposit it in the banks. And we took every measure to ensure that all the banks were and are still open to accept deposits.”

Echoing the President’s position, the CBN explained that the redesigned notes would solve the challenge of insecurity, especially kidnapping in the North-West.

The Director of Development Finance at the apex bank, Philip Yila, who was represented by Aliyu Ashiru, in Gombe State, explained that the policy would ensure sanity in the system.

The CBN team had before swapping old notes for residents visited traditional rulers of Lamido Akko in the Akko Local Government Area of the state, Umar Atiku; Mai Banganje; and the District Head of Tanglan in the Billiri Local Government Area.

“One of the benefits of redesigned notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria is to ensure integrity. We realised that overtime, there had been challenges in our cash management; a lot of challenges of insecurity border on people who hold money, people who kidnap and seek ransom from the people; enforcing the cashless policy will make it difficult for kidnappers to seek ransom, especially in North-West,” Yila said.

He noted that the bank thought it wise to set up high-powered teams across the federation to sensitise the public to the naira redesign policy.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, however, pleaded with the CBN to extend the deadline, saying as much as the policy was welcomed; a slight extension would ease the discomfort of Nigerians

The Senate and the House of Representatives had also pleaded with the apex bank to extend the deadline by six months till July 31, 2023.

‘Buhari snubbed govs’
In Kano State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, revealed that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), rejected the plea of the 36 state governors to review the naira redesign policy, especially the extension of the January 31 deadlines for the old notes to cease being legal tender.

Ganduje made this known during an interactive session with scholars, legislators, political leaders and the business community in the state at the Government House, Kano, on Friday.

The governor said he and his colleagues came under one platform without consideration for party affiliation and sent delegates to Buhari to let him know about the hardship caused by the new policy.

“Governors from all the political parties put heads together and sent delegates (to the President), but to no avail. Traditional rulers also followed the same path individually. But up till now, there is nothing in that respect,” he added.

He also stated that he had written to the Presidency to postpone Buhari’s visit to inaugurate some projects in the state because of possible backlash from frustrated residents, who were unable to get the new naira notes.

This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, which was made available to Sunday PUNCH on Saturday.

The statement read in part, “As we are waiting for this important visit, we found ourselves in this situation, which puts citizens in untold hardship. For security purposes, we wrote to the Presidency that President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano be postponed.

“We got an acknowledgement copy of the letter. People are really suffering because of this policy (naira redesign).”

During the meeting, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed the decision as they all spoke in support of it.

Two serving senators on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Kabiru Gaya and Barau Jibrin, as well as 20 members of House of Representatives and 30 legislators from the state House of Assembly were among those who queued behind the governor on the decision to postpone Buhari’s visit.

“There are no banks in most of our rural communities. How these people get new naira notes is of great concern. Just look at what is happening in our urban areas, people go and spend hours upon hours in banks without any assurances of getting the new notes,” Ganduje stated.

According to the governor, one cannot make withdrawals of the new notes from Point of Sales operators as many of them have closed shops due to uncertainties.

He emphasized that Kano, being a commercial hub, must be heard loudly, adding, “This problem affects all of us. Therefore, our voice must be heard in all the nooks and crannies. We are a commercial hub. As such, our position must be loud and clear.”

A source close to the governors confirmed that indeed a delegation of the governors met with Buhari, but added that the President’s mind was already made up on the issue. He, however, declined to name the governors who made the trip to the President.

NBA seeks review
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association has said the law allows Nigerians to redeem their old naira notes at the CBN even after the January 31 deadline.

The NBA, in a letter signed by its President, Yakubu Maikyau, and addressed to the CBN governor, called for an urgent review of the policy. This was disclosed in a statement by the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Akorede Lawal, on Saturday.

While lauding the demonetisation policy of the apex bank as one with the potential to stem corruption, vote-buying and other criminal activities, the NBA President noted that “the necessary logistical, infrastructural and manpower support required for the successful implementation of the policy are in short supply and should be greatly improved upon if they are to be leveraged for full implementation of the policy with minimal loss or economic hardship.”

Maikyau expressed concerns that there was no information in the public domain as to what would happen to the old currency in possession of Nigerians after January 31 even as the law was clear on the issue.

He quoted Section 20 (3) of the CBN Act as stating, “Notwithstanding Sub-sections (1) and (2) of this section, the bank shall have power, if directed to do so by the President and after giving reasonable notice in that behalf, to call in any of its notes or coins on payment of the face value thereof and any note or coin with respect to which a notice has been given under this sub-section, shall, on the expiration of the notice, cease to be legal tender, but, subject to Section 22 of this Act, shall be redeemed by the Bank upon demand.”

Maikyau noted that “any person who shall be in possession of the old notes, which have ceased to be legal tender by January 31, 2023 is at liberty to approach the CBN and demand for the redemption of the notes and the CBN is under statutory obligation to redeem the notes.”

In view of the dearth of information in that regard, the NBA President added, “Our recommendation on this issue is that in addition to educating Nigerians on demonetisation itself, a campaign on what happens to old bank notes after January 31 should be launched so as to adequately inform the public on what to do and prevent or reverse the rising panic or agitation caused by concerns about the inability of Nigerians to swap their old notes for the new notes by January 31.”

The NBA President had on Friday paid a visit to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr Zainab Ahmed, in Abuja, during which he relayed the concerns of Nigerians over the demonetisation policy of the CBN, particularly in view of the scarcity of the new notes and the difficulty Nigerians were encountering in swapping the old notes .

Extend deadline – ACF
Meanwhile, the Arewa Consultative Forum has appealed to the Federal Government to extend the deadline for the expiration and collection of old naira notes in the country.

This was contained in a statement by the Publicity Secretary, ACF, Kano State chapter, Mallam Bello Galadanci, on Saturday.

The statement said the January 31 deadline had almost grounded socio-economic activities in the state.

The statement added that people’s refusal to accept the old naira notes for commercial transactions out of fear of possible inability to deposit the notes in commercial banks was causing untold hardship to the masses.

It read in part, “This has currently made life more difficult for ordinary citizens, because banks, up till today, still give out the old naira notes to customers with the deadline only a few days away.

“We appeal to the Federal Government to reconsider its decision by extending the deadline for the expiration of old naira notes to enable residents to swap their old naira with the new naira notes.”

The National President, Ilasa Development Union in Ekiti State, Tajudeen Ahmed, said on Saturday, “So far so good, the CBN cash swap team is yet to reach our community. We are facing hell; people are running helter-skelter with the old notes.

“I think the only thing that can ameliorate the present situation is to extend the deadline. If the CBN insists on the January 31 date, a lot of people will have to be left with no option but to lose a lot of money.”

The Chairman, Ise Ekiti Development Council, Tunji Falana, who also bemoaned the plight of his community, said the only way out for now was an extension of the deadline.

Falana said although the community was expecting the CBN cash swap team on Monday and Tuesday, and had made necessary security arrangements, “what I saw when the cash swap team was at Emure Ekiti on Friday showed that there is only a little that the intervention can do.”

Depositors besiege banks
Depositors, on Saturday, took advantage of the decision of banks to extend their work hours by rushing to banks to deposit the old N1,000, N500 and N200 notes in their custody to beat Tuesday’s deadline. More depositors are expected to show up today (Sunday).

The banks had communicated to their customers earlier in the week that they would open for business on Saturday and Sunday strictly to receive deposits of the old notes between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

In most branches visited by Sunday PUNCH on Saturday, especially those located in highly populated areas of Lagos and Ogun states, scores of depositors were seen in queues and under canopies outside the banking halls.

Some of them complained about spending hours to make deposits under inclement weather and asked the Central Bank of Nigeria to listen to the voice of critical stakeholders and extend the deadline for the old notes to cease being legal tender.

A businesswoman, Mrs Florence Fadeyi, said she got to the Zenith Bank branch in the Alagbado area of Lagos State around 9am and was given a tally number 128, adding that she only got into the banking hall around 2.30pm and left around 3pm.

She explained, “I didn’t anticipate the crowd I met on the bank premises as I thought that many people had deposited their old notes. I could have done that before now, but I was out of town for three weeks and just came back two days ago.

“Six cashiers were frantically attending to the depositors and I really pitied them because of the pressure on them. Some of them tried to be friendly, but as humans, they sometimes snapped at unruly depositors. I finally left the bank around 3pm.”

Another depositor at a branch of Access Bank in the Ogba area of Lagos, Chuks Okafor, lamented the many hours he spent to deposit about N350,000, insisting that he left his shop in the care of an apprentice.

“My brother, time is money! I have wasted about four hours here. The CBN and the banks should make things easier for Nigerians. I don’t know why they are insisting that the deadline cannot be extended. I started rejecting the old notes yesterday (Friday) when it became apparent that the deadline will not be extended and I have lost opportunities to make sales,” Okafor said.

At the UBA and Access Bank branches in Ibafo, Ogun State, restive depositors complained of spending hours in the scorching sun without being able to get into the banking halls.

A security guard at the Access Bank branch, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that he and his colleagues have had a hectic time pacifying the aggrieved depositors, who felt that the process was not moving fast enough.

A senior bank official at the Ajose Adeogun, Victoria Island, Lagos branch of a Tier-1 bank told Sunday PUNCH that unlike the situation in the mainland areas of the state, not many depositors turned up on Saturday.

He said, “The situation here is a bit different from what is obtainable on the mainland as we did not record many depositors today (Saturday). As of the closing time at 4pm, we recorded less than N400,000 in deposits.

“The manager has directed that only one teller should come to the branch tomorrow (Sunday) to attend to depositors as we don’t anticipate a crowd as the area is a commercial area and not residential. Other tellers from branches around here have been deployed in our branches on the mainland, especially in areas with a high population of residents and traders.”

Politics › Re: We Will Find Out If Nnamdi Kanu Was Poisoned On Monday – Family by Mickykarim: 5:20am On Jan 29, 2023
phoneport:
The family of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has urged members of the public to disregard rumours claiming that the IPOB leader has been poisoned.
Naija News recalls that a voice note making the rounds on social media claimed that Kanu had been poisoned in detention, urging ‘Biafrans’ to go on a rampage in protest.

Reacting to the voice note, a younger brother to the IPOB leader, Prince Emmanuel told Vanguard that he met with his Kanu last Thursday at the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) where he is currently detained and there was no indication that he had suffered from such an ordeal.

He maintained that the embattled activist did not inform him that he was poisoned when they met last Thursday but promised that he would find out more about the situation when they meet on Monday, January 30,

Kanu’s brother wondered how the story of the alleged poisoning began and cautioned against fake news.

He subsequently warned Kanu’s supporters again taking the matter into their hands but to remain calm as he hoped to see and hear from his brother again on Monday.
Kanu’s brother had posted on his Facebook page the outcome of Thursday’s meeting with him.

The post read: ” I Met with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the company of Evangelist, and Barr Nnaemeka Ejiofor, at Department of State Services, Abuja.

“As always, we focused more on victories recorded and the way forward. He maintained that this struggle for liberation remains a collective fight and thanked those who have not betrayed the struggle.

“He said Nigeria has continuously flouted the orders of her own court and such will never be tolerated in IPOB. Those who attack this noble structure were not there when it was built and can never be brought down

“This movement is divine. To me, IPOB is a huge achievement for our people and for men and women of good conscience . We have come that humanity may be set free”.

Aiel123:
2023: FUEL AND NAIRA SCARCITY, A STITCH IN TIME, MR. PRESIDENT
By Dr. Aliyu U. Tilde, Bauchi, 27 January 2023

At the end of his tenure in, 1985, the then Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, granted his last interview to Halilu Ahmed Getso of FRCN Kaduna. The answer to the last question in the interview was very informative. What last message do you have for Nigerians? Halilu asked. Buhari, aware of plans to topple him, simply said that if anyone thinks leading the country is easy, let him come and try it.

Barely two weeks later, Buhari was overthrown. My kind-hearted mentor thought then he would retire to a quiet life. No. It was to be four years of torturous isolation and a haunting nightmare for 30 long years.

A decade later, Buhari would tell the world that he did not order the search of the houses of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi when he was head of state. It was done by some fifth columnists, he revealed. Unfortunately, as he noted, neither Awo nor Gumi was alive to forgive him.

To Egypt. In their bid to topple Muhammad Mursi from power, the military and some prominent businessmen orchestrated fuel shortages and power outages in order to pitch the Egyptian populace against the Muslim Brotherhood and its regime. They then hired some youth organizations to carry out demonstrations that snowballed into the 3 July 2013 coup. I was shocked to watch the public confession of the sabotage after all was done. Dr. Mursi was immediately arrested and incarcerated until he died.

Sabotage

The sabotage script is among the standard templates of people who want to topple governments. Opposition parties that lack credibility in fledgling democracies do the same. The recent cry of the APC presidential candidate cannot therefore be far-fetched. He echoed two issues—fuel scarcity and shortage of new naira notes—that are spawning the anger of Nigerians barely a month to the presidential election. With his name representing the ruling APC on the ballot paper, he has every reason to voice out his concerns. His reading of the situation is that it is a sabotage against him and the party at the polls by moles in government and business whose loyalty is to the opposition.

What else can explain the inability of the CBN to make the naira notes it printed available to citizens for 3 months since it announced the new policy last October? Is it that it did not print the new notes sufficiently or is it so incompetent of transporting them to its state branches and issue them to banks in sufficient quantities? That banks are unable to issue the new notes this late after threatening to reject any old one early next week reveals the incapacity of the present CBN administration or betrays its deliberate sabotage of the present government, targeting the harm that the pain would cause the APC ticket on 25th February.

The pretexts for fuel scarcity under different pretexts since the flood of last September can hardly acquit the NNPC of the same intention. Government is paying the subsidy. Why would it allow distribution to become a problem at this crucial moment, just weeks to the elections that will determine whether or not it will retain power or lose it? Is the regime so inept of pressing the right buttons to force compliance by NNPC officials and fuel marketers, so basic a logistic that even undergraduates of mechanical engineering can execute successfully?

Indifference

I do not share the indifference of the President in this case because it undermines his legacy and his future. If he is proud of his performance in the past 8 years, which he ought to be, he must take measures to protect it. You just do not throw away a child you nursed for eight years to fate. Nigeria is that child which he nursed that long. The projects he started and the younger ones that traveled with him along the difficult path of governance must not be abandoned. There is a future for completion in one case and of political ambition in the other even as the president personally feels fulfilled.

The other reason is that no one can predict what happens after allowing power to slip away from his fingers. Because it could be brutal, chances are not taken. Men acquiring power after a dirty fight behave like lions, except for few forgiving ones. Once victors, the majority do not take hostages. They strangulate the enemy until it cannot no longer breathe. That tradition of power was miscalculated in the risk estimation of Buhari in 1985. The corruption he fought retuned full swing and the lieutenants he brought were suddenly washed away into the sea by the new regime as he spends his dark days in prison.

Today, none can assure the President of the continuity of his good policies, finish his projects and shelter his lieutenants better than his party and its presidential candidate. Relying on the promises of the opponent is like writing on water. To think of safety in the jaws of the lion will be regrettable.

“Lion of Jada”

The opposition is naturally cashing on the pain which the deliberate failure of the government is causing Nigerians, smiling as if it has grabbed a manna falling from heaven. Officials—many of whom are companions of the opposition—who want the corrupt practices to persist should the opposition win the election are happy too, while the ruling APC and its candidate are left in pain, helplessly.

If I were the President or a member of his cabinet, I will have a rethink. I will remember 1985 and the pain it caused me. I will not miscalculate it this time as I can see the same people who orchestrated 1985 are today busy running errands for the PDP to defeat my government again. It will be a mistake to trust them or hand over the country to them.

And what will follow the victory of an injured “Lion of Jada”, can best be imagined. This time it will not only affect the President but also his family, relatives, friends, associates, ministers and the party. Anyone who does not know what election defeat portends should ask some ex-governors. Bauchi in 2007 is a classical example. Good luck was for Jonathan; it might not be for everybody. “The Lion” cannot be indifferent.

In the unlikely event of Tinubu losing the elections, the biggest loser will be the APC. It is a merger of three parties cobbled together to defeat the PDP and which will disintegrate in the ensuing atmosphere of distrust that the defeat will bring.

The President and the government must wake up to their responsibility and not allow saboteurs from within and petrol marketers to succeed. While we are in the front vanguard of welcoming the cashless policy, the CBN must be directed to issue sufficient new notes to banks and the public. The President must also press the NNPC to ensure that fuel scarcity is overcome quickly.

Otherwise, he must know that he only has, like a coin, two outcomes in 2023: a head with the anticipated victory of the front runner, which must not be in spite of the President and his officials but because of them; a tail, in which he loses and the President and his officials must prepare for a long night in which the sun will set, stars will eclipse and life after office will not be the quiet they calculate but a bitterly distressing one.

Call

I will call on Nigerians, as did the APC candidate, to defy the antics of the saboteurs and vote for someone who has the capacity to change things; someone who in his business and position as a governor has proven to be an achiever; a modernising innovator; ready to draw from brains of experts and technocrats; deploy latest techniques and technologies to solve intractable administrative problems and to execute projects in record time; carry workers and the Nigerian public along; etc.

That person is the front runner in the presidential race, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He leads with the determination that problems like fuel shortage and distribution of Naira notes shall be solved with the aptitude that will end the privileges of saboteurs, who conjure our present suffering and whom we must not support. Four years for our undergraduates, he said, will be four years. Period. That is the language of efficient administrators that saboteurs hate to hear but which we will continue to sound into their ears.

I must remind the President that in the game of power, peace is earned, not granted. The wise, like Obasanjo and many governors, by determining their successors, fought hard while still in power to earn the peace they would enjoy. President Buhari must fight hard to ensure the success of his flag bearer as if he were on the ballot paper. 1985 must not reincarnate. For his future peace, it must remain dead. A stitch in time!

—————
WELL WRITTEN AND WELL DELIVERED.

If this were for historical purposes and a reminder to awaken the federal government led by President Buhari to the urgency of the matter at hand, with the ill motives of saboteur. Hopefully, they get it and recall the antecedents of same occurrence in the past.

GOVERNMENT IS WITH GOOD INTENTION, USUALLY.

But, when those intentions are not going well and or working out, would be time to have a rethink and not either be indifferent or intransigent.

BESIDES, GOOD INTENTION MIGHT NOT NECESSARILY TRANSLATE TO A GOOD OUTCOME.

Hopefully, Nigerians can still trust this government and rely on it. Given every good reason for such fate.

including, IF THE NEW Naiara POLICY IS CAUSING SO MUCH IMBROGLIO AS BAD AS TO ASK THE PRESIDENT TO NOT COME VISITING A FEDERATING STATE UNDER HIS WATCH. IT HAS THEN BECOME A CASE FOR CONCERN.

Only discerning minds will appreciate the import of this delivery!

Tinubu has just told CAN and all Christians in Nigeria that he is not contesting on a religious ticket. Those Christians who believe him are exercising their own choice and rationalization rights with a conviction that Nigeria is not yet or ever going to be an Islamic state like Turkey or Libya or Niger or Chad. Please rationalize this for me Abegi.

📢 *ANNOUNCEMENT*

*ENOUGH IS ENOUGH*

*Any Christian who is mistakenly planning to vote APC in 2023 election should consider these facts.*

1. *Presidential Candidate: Muslim (Lagos),*

2. *Vice Presidential Candidate: Muslim (Borno),*

3. *National Chairman: Muslim (Nasarawa)*

4. *Deputy National Chairman : Muslim (Borno),*

5. *Seating* *President : Muslim(Katsina);*

6. *Senate President: Muslim (Yobe);*

7. *Speaker of the House of Representatives: Muslim (Lagos);*

8. *Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives: Muslim (Plateau)*

*NOTE*
*that these appointments of only Muslims extends to almost all the heads of the Security Agencies, NNPC, Federal Ministries and Parastatals*

*The Question for every discerning mind to ask is: "Is APC an Islamic political party? Is it a platform for advancing an Islamic political agenda?*

*Let every Christian be careful with how they cast their vote in this coming 2023 election.*

*It is time for the Christians to rise up and change this narrative. And we need to begin to create awareness among Christians by helping to spread this information to all the contacts we have and the platforms we belong to.*

*Cursed be the man or woman who calls himself a believer, and have seen or witnessed the ethnic cleansing, killing of Christians, and appointment of Muslims in all Key national departments and offices, and still vote these Islamists.*

*The raw truth is that only sworn, self confirmed antichrists who go to Church can vote APC, or any other Islamists in other parties to continue an open Islamic jihad, and by extension, Fulanization agenda.*

*Christians have helped to advance Islamic jihad agenda these years. Enough is enough.*

**ONE MORE THING WE SHOULD NOTE:*
*_In one of the clauses in the_ ORGANIZATION OF ISLAMIC COUNTRIES (OIC) _Charter, it's stated that if a country is ruled by Muslims continuously for Ten(10) years, that country shall automatically be declared a Muslim country with the SHARIA LAWS entrenched in it._*

*At the end of Buhari's tenure, Nigeria shall have been ruled by Muslims continuously for Eight(cool years. The OIC needs only Two(2) more years of Muslim governance in Nigeria to takeover Nigeria and declare it an Islamic state.*
*That's why the Fulani cabal manipulated the PDP to have a Muslim as it Presidential* *Candidate to make assurance doubly sure.*
*(That's also why Atiku recently said that after a 4-year tenure as president,* *he would vacate for an Igbo president.*
*By then, Nigeria would have fully been Islamized.*
*That's further why some greedy Igbos are converting or are planning to convert to Islam.*

*_Share this in all Christian believers platforms, just as you read and speak to those who have no access to social media platforms._*
YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN. JUST A DEVIL IN A SHEEP SKIN.

Imagine your very low mentality below.

"**ONE MORE THING WE SHOULD NOTE:*

THEREFORE, AS GULLIBLE AND DIABOLICAL AS YOU APPEAR, THE OIC WILL AUTMATICALLY CONVERT SUCH COUNTRIES INTO Islamic STATES EVEN WITHOUT THEIR CONSENTS. SINCE ACCORDING TO YOU, THE ORGANIZATION WITHOLDS SUCH SUPREME POWER FOR SUCH EXERCISE WANTON DECLARATION FOR PEOPLE AND COUNTRY AGAINST THEIR WISHES.
