1000 Beneficiaries Targeted for “Operation Feed the Widows” 2021 Edition

Ibadan, Oyo State, October 18, 2021.

AbidingTV Initiatives will host indigenes of the Ibadan community to her yearly “Operation Feed the Widows” program. The outreach will hold at the UMC Primary School, Obafemi Awolowo Road, Oke-Ado Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria on the 19th of December 2021.

This will be the third edition of the Initiative’s outreach with targeted beneficiaries of 1,000 widows and widowers resident in the Oyo State capital, Ibadan. The first and second editions held in 2019 and 2020 with over 300 and 800 respective beneficiaries.

“It is humbling to be able to put smiles on the faces of these aged indigents and I am excited at the impact stories recorded so far,” said Mr. Arinola Olakanmi Yinka, Founder, AbidingTV Initiatives and CEO of Abiding Television Limited. “It is a cause we are committed and determined to maintain by ensuring beneficiaries have access to food items to lessen the effects of the current economic hardship on their households.”

The Initiative aims at demonstrating the love of God by spreading love to indigents. All our campaigns are centered around the people’s needs which further improve the quality of their lives. “I am grateful to God and the AbidingTV Initiatives for the love and thoughtfulness that has put smiles on my face and that of my children,” said a beneficiary in the Yoruba language.

With the support of donors, AbidingTV Initiatives is achieving its goal of making a difference and creating real life impacts. One of the Initiative’s donors, the Bukola Olafisan Foundation (BOF) said that the outreach program has become a vehicle for ensuring that these groups of people have access to nourishing foods on their tables for the holidays.

There was the case of a veiled woman who came to visit her relatives in the university but who was denied access at the university’s Main Gate by OAU security personnel on the ground that she did not reveal her identity. Subsequent to this was the arrest of a female Muslim student who was also reported to have used the face veil. It was gathered that the lady was arrested in the morning and was not released until late in the night despite the determined effort of the executive members of the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) to get her out at once.


This war on an Islamic dress code reached its pinnacle on Tuesday 13th November, 2012 at about five in the evening when a veiled female Muslim student, who had once been arrested for using Niqab, was re-arrested by the security officers at the Oduduwa Hall of the university where the lady was said to have gone to attend an inaugural lecture.
