Well, I guess you have issues with intelligent filmmakers. The feel-good movies are the best for you.
Majority of the time,Chris Nolan confuses himself and his film viewers. I know you did not understand Interstellar

You couldn't stand Chris Nolan's dark knight trilogy? shocked
Stick to Marvel's feel-good movies then.
Stop trying so hard to pass off DCEU movies as gritty, matured and hard hitting and marvel movies as kids movies. For goodness sake, the DCEU failed woefully with their earlier movies that they went with the marvel M.O in WW.JL,Aquaman and shazam

Kindly tell us what you didn't like about Nolan's batman trilogy undecided
Marvel studios has produced 23 films, can you mention at least 7 that are better than Dark Knight.
I generally don't like Chris Nolan as a film maker. He seems to try too hard to come across as intelligent or impress his film viewers with his intelligence. No fun,no wit.Always serious, serious, serious.Apart from Memento and Insomnia his other movies are a no-no for me.

This is anti DC bias. Pure and simple.

I am neither a DC fan or a marvel fan. When I see a good movie, i admit it.

I am also a DC and marvel fan .Batman:the animated series is my favourite animated show and my second favourite superhero movie is Tim Burton's Batman Returns. My favourite superhero movie is Mr Snyder's Watchmen

I believe that you are 100 percent wrong on this one.

Marvel films do not explore dark themes. At best they just "glance" through them.

I dare you to give me an example of these marvel films you are talking about.
If you wanted to see the themes you would have. You dont need my directions.Marvel movies are a mix of various genre.Marvel have perfected superhero movie-making.DC haven't.For goodness sake the earlier DCEU movies were a bore and tryhard even I can't stand the Chris Nolan trilogy.Everyone in the world isn't miserable and looking for a fix

Spoken, sealed, signed and stamped by a director whom I respect very much!
Scorcese has made a movie called the Irishman for the streaming giant Netflix which is receiving Oscar buzz. His contemporary Steven Spielberg has been staying for years that Netflix is a platform for streaming tv shows and any movie on Netflix should not be considered for an oscar.Times change.Superhero movies rule cinema today but they won't forever. In the 1950s and 60s the western genre was king.Where is it today?

They are detractors of marvel movies. Many fans of DC characters movies seem to erroneously believe using the term "dark" for their movies connotes "maturity" or "mature themes" .As if marvel movies dont also have mature themes in them. From dealing with a surveillance state, racism,PTSD,even human extinction

Lol. That Harley na craze person, pure one. But I love her crazy voice. It has a sweet and naughty ting to it.
There is nothing really interesting about that Harley Quinn character. Her voice is annoying, her weapon of choice is a baseball bat and the joker knocks her around. The character only generated renewed interest amongst horn.y nerds and cosplayers after her hyper-sexualized portrayal by Margot Robbie in suicide squad which led to her becoming a main character in the DC franchises rather than her former side role.

I hope Joker breaks the box office to earn a billion or more just to spite their stupidity
It won't because the film will focus more on how an individual slowly turns into a villain. It will lack the typical bombastic element of many superhero/villain movies loved by the layman .The studio that made this film are taking a risk and hoping something about it will stick amongst the general moviegoing populace.

Stop shoving your bias down others' throats.

So, in your cretinous mind, people like Odumegwu Ojukwu, Wole Soyinka, and Lionel Messi look irresponsible ?
Ojukwu used his beard to mark his ugly face.
Soyinka used and still uses his beard to look like a distinguished intellectual.
Messi uses his beard because he is following the beard gang trend.

Did you check out the link I shared with you?

My answer dependent on that.

Fashion is everywhere bro, that's what you see grooming beards as. Which is perfectly fine.

To us, we see it as a style. A lot of people have been grooming their beards before it became a *trend* thing like you said. Do you even know the number of Nigerians grooming their beards before it became trendy?

We have the numbers, and those we choose to serve more.
Those people were generally Moslem men and men outside the mainstream. The beard gang movement is a worldwide trend amongst men not just a Nigerian trend.Like all trends,it will surely petter out

MyBeardGang:

I disagree Sir.

It is not just only a movement, we also try as much as possible to evolve.

The real question is, why are men not grooming their hair, like women? TheBeardgang movement goes beyond the beards but the facial hair in totality.

The essence is to build a generation of millenials that will not only take care of the hair on their head, but also their facial hair.

Read this:

https://mybeardgang.com/is-keeping-beards-fashion-or-style/
Are you referring to the horse hair women in Nigeria carry on their heads or their real hair? From where I stand,I maintain the real hair on my head better than 95% of Nigerian women and keep my face cleanly shaved.
All this beard gang movement started when? Two years ago?It will pass and the product you are trying to sell will become niche

This "beard gang" movement is nothing but a trend that will pass.Unfortunately, many men following this trend don't have slim faces that will make the look standout on them. Many of their faces are fat/chubby which makes them look "roguish" and unkempt

Solo failed bro, that's the truth of it. The success of rogue one made the producers believe there could actually be a star wars story without the Jedi or Sith stealing the show, forgetting that in Rogue One, a Sith stole the show the moment he appeared.

KoiceReloaded, even I screamed and cheered the sith lord at the cinema. grin cheesy
Solo performed badly at the box office because of a boycott by the core Star Wars fans and their disagreement with the direction the producers decided to take the franchise with The Last Jedi movie which was released a few months before Solo.
Solo is actually an exciting and watchable movie with great characters, humour and action.

I was about to ask him how he came about “The Boys” being a copy of “Watchmen” lol.

I didn’t even enjoy “Watchmen”, I haven’t even watched the first episode of their 2019 TV show adaptation. Which i feel is a drag because of low ratings on Imbd (viewers’ rating). Even the storylines are completely different, would have upload them here for him to tell us how it is an exact copy of Watchmen but lets avoid spoilers and let it slide.
Have you read the singular 1985 Watchmen comicbook?Have you watched the 2009 Watchmen movie? When you do both, return to this thread then we will have a thorough discussion

Never trust professional critics ratings, it can be deceiving, and can run contrary to popular opinion. Altered Carbon has an average ratings of 67% on RT, but audience score is 93% last time I checked... might have even exceeded that by now. My advice is to hinge your decision more on fan review website, IMDb, than RT... or better yet, don't look at any of the ratings, go in completely blind, and make an independent opinion based on what you see.
Altered Carbon deserves a lower RT score.Personally,i would give that piece of crap 17% just for its existence

While I agree it's not unique, you're clearly wrong in your postulations. The Boys is adapted from a comic book series of the same name. If I recall, the co-creator of the comic series said something about Preacher comic series being the inspiration, not Watchmen.

Then the creator/s of the Preacher series were likely influenced by the Watchmen comicbook. Its a simple stuff.
P.S.I know The Boys,Preacher and even The Walking Dead were first comic series before becoming tv shows

Really, someone watched The Boys and didn’t like it? Thats a wawu. I had to look for the comic and from the little i read can’t wait for Season 2. Butcher is not here to play with anybody #brutal grin

It’s shows us the life of people we already know from another angle. It’s unique, to say the least
There is nothing unique about The Boys. All it did was copy the premise of "Watchmen"...poorly.

What the hell are on about, you negative Gonzalez? Atlanta child murders plot line was the best part of the season IMO. It felt like a longer version of Se7en and Zodiac, which isn't coincidental when you consider the fact that David Fincher, the creator of Mindhunter, directed both movies. It was gripping and enthralling, enshrouded in the kind of mystery only David Fincher could conjure.

What bogged it down a little is the recurring Tench private life, which I had absolutely no interest in knowing. Also, I felt Holden played second fiddle to Tench this season, unlike last season. It kinda pissed me off that Tench had more screentime than everyone else. In fact, I'll be bold, and say that season 2 was Bill Tench's season.

Overall, it's a slight improvement to last season. The did a stellar job on casting as always. The show is still the best psychological mystery on television atm.
1.What I loved about season one of Mindhunter were the many interviews of the serial killers (getting to know them, why they did what they did,how they did what they did,how their mindsets were created etc).It was a fascinating watch.
Season two only had four to five interviews in the first five episodes and the remaining four episodes were dedicated to the Atlanta child murders which dragged the show. The numerous serial killers interviews in season one attracted me to the show and there just weren't enough of them in season two.
2.I know David Fincher's work very well because i am a fan of his.He is heavily involved with this show but he only directed the first three episodes of season two and none of the latter Atlanta child murders episodes
On a sidenote, the opening sequence of "The Game" is similar to the opening sequence of HBOs' "Succession"
3.I liked Bill Tench and his familys' subplot even Holden was alright. My only grouse with season two was there weren't enough serial killers interviews and it dwelled too much on the Atlanta child murders
TV/Movies / Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Miggs(m): 10:02pm On Aug 19, 2019
I just watched Mindhunter season two.The show still maintains its aesthetic quality.Unfortunately, the season got bugged down with the Atlanta child murders storyline. The highlight of the season was the Charles Manson interview.
Overall,it was an okay season.

Everyone that loved endgame here on this thread is a big movie aficionado. No one here is arguing that only popularity or box office performance makes a movie great (although they are strong indicators). Stop telling lies to cover up your nonsensical opinions.

Fyi, the dark knight is my favourite superhero movie.
I consider my humble self to be a bit of a cinemaphile and I did not like anything about avengers:endgame .After all the snap shenanigans in the infinity war movie, all the producers could think of was using the back to the future 2 time travel schtick?
What a tremendous and disappointing letdown

Please dont mind her. She usually makes a lot of illogical movie reviews and then uses the "i am entitled to my own opinion" excuse when she is criticized

Isn't it funny when one accuses someone of something they always do?That lady has given her view about that movie. Why can't you let her be instead of trying to force your own view of the movie on her?

I just watched The Boys and season one had too much filler. The fascinating but overall disappointing storyline could have easily been wrapped up in three to four episodes.
I believe the quality of tv shows writers have progressively gotten worse in the past four to five years

HBO should have left Big Little Lies untouched after its first and what was originally planned to be its only season.Season two is a non-story which lacks the charm and magic of its predecessor
