I served in Rano Kano State... he's saying the truth. Foodstuffs are not cheap too. Social Activities are zero, the weather is bleeped. Self-con goes for 80 to 150k in town. There's no enough presence of police incase of crisis. The state don't pay kobo....bro we're better off serving in other region... you know the truth stop deceiving others.

NYSC: Six (6) Reasons why you should not serve in the North


Any prospective Corp member who wants to have a wonderful service year, learn some skills, and have an opportunity of landing himself a good job, Core northern states should be last in your list. I'm not saying that serving in the North is entirely a bad idea, No! But you're better off serving in other geo political zones than core Northern States.


Note: the following reasons are my personal opinions and observations while serving in the North. I might be wrong though, and it can be argued too. Let's go...


No.1==Lack of Good PPAs:-

Due to shortage of qualified teachers in the North, 95% of corpers are deployed to schools as teachers with most of these schools located in the rural areas. This means onces you are posted to the North, there is a good chances of you ending up in one of these villages except you bribe some Nysc officials in camp to be posted to town. Trust me living in these villages is not easy ranging from epileptic power supply, language barrier, scarcity of potable water etc.


No.2= Things are not as cheap as you were told:-

Yes! The only things you can buy cheap in the North are foodstuffs like cow meat, fresh tomatoes, onions and yam. Every other thing goes almost same price you would get it in other states. Fish, Rice, beans, groundnut oil, indomie, red oil, provisions, Garri, etc are sold the same price as in other states. In fact, you will buy rice cheaper in Abakiliki than in the North. Don't sell your future because of plate of food.


No.3=Having another source of Income apart from your alawee is difficult:-


I have read tales on how corpers organized private lessons and venture in other business to augument income but that's very difficult in the North, nobody might patronize you if you organize private lessons and most private schools in the City already have extra moral classes included in their school activities. Business kwanu? Don't even go there, you won't even stand a chance, an hausa/fulani man is ready to sell goods with just 40naira and can also offer his services way cheaper than you.




No.4=Insecurity:-


Most Northern States are underpoliced! There are no enough presence of police and other security agents to protect you incase of any crisis. This is why there are lots casualties recorded anytime crisis broke out, before security agents would mobilize and arrived at the scene alot of damages has been done already. Anybody who served in any northern states can attest to this, you rarely see policemen unlike what is obtainable in the south.

No.5=Accommodation Problem:-

Most Schools and ministries have no accommodation for you once you're posted to the Capital cities of Northern States. Yes! OYO is your case. Same problem that's also being suffered by corpers serving in Lagos, Abuja and Portharcourt. A good self contained apartment in Kano City is rented almost same amount with the ones in Ibadan, addo ekiti, calabar, Enugu, Uyo , owerri etc.

Note: If you're posted to the village, you are most likely to be provided with accommodation, I think this is also done nearly in all states. Corpers serving in my village have accommodation free too.


No.6=Less hope of getting ratained in your PPA:-

This one needs no explanation since you are most likely to be posted to the village, you will get tired of the place before your POP, so retaining you is out of the picture even if they do, you will gladly reject the offer.


Other reasons worth mentioning include: Harsh Weather, Lack of Social Activities, language barrier, etc.

He must have said "take this ecobank cheque " by so saying, the victim did not bother looking at the name of the bank on the cheque and dashed off. By using a posh environment he was able to throw the victim off guard.
The victim has learnt a harsh lesson in Nigeria business environment.
Rule no 5. Never accept cheque from people you don't know very well.
How on earth does he accept a cheque from someone that he doesn't know his business premises, his house or knows someone that knows him. Who does that? In a country like Nigeria.
I don't even trust instant transfers not to talk of cheques.

The only reasonable answer to that is he must have made lots of profit from that sales. So he was so much in a hurry to cash the money.

A corps member who really wish to redeploy should not depend on medical report because it fails except it is evident that you are suffering from such illness.

If paying a doctor 7k for medical report or whatever you call it works, believe you me 90% of corps members posted to sokoto would have redeployed.

This Nysc official know the trick too, they are not dumb.

I'm not forcing anybody to pay me for redeployment, moreover it is a choice, but what I'm against is someone resigning from his job because of crap called NYSC or killing oneself for a country that doesn't give a hoot about you.

Give a doctor 7k or less to give you a report.... it's done.

NYSC can't keep you in the state you stated would be difficult for getting your treatment. They don't have such lever! But they can reject your redeployment if you already summit medical fitness.... stating you're fit for the programme.

Camp redeployment works yes it does but what is the chance of it working?

Anybody who really wants to redeploy should never I mean never depend on camp redeployment except you have an illness that is visible, every corps member claims illness and back it up with medical report, Nysc officials ain't dumb, they know all these.

My advice simply, if you want to redeploy work it out otherwise you will surely get disappointed come end of camp.

Yes! It is easy when followed accordingly. I don't think parting ways with 40-60k in the name of person working out for you is easy too, as many falls prey to scammers. Even if my ideas didn't work which I sincerely doubt, at least the person didn't lose money.

Number one reason for failure in camp redeployment is presenting both medical fitness and doctors report stating that you're sick. Once that's taking care of, they will redeploy you period.

Bro no need for the dm. Go get a recognized hospital doctor's report stating that you have one illness or other. Don't go with medical fitness because it will contradict our plan or at least go with it but don't summit it.

Summit your doctor's report instead of medical fitness. Make sure you choose illness you can defend incase they decide to interview.. like mental illness, epilepsy, etc.


You will be redeploy ones you follow as I have said.... I'm here to answer more of your questions. Please don't pay anyone a dime, you ought have done that before now.... simply go to states you're deployed to, camp there then follow my instructions and redeploy.

Don't allow them brainwash you in camp to stay, don't fall for Media hype. The best states to do your Nysc still remains South East ,South South, South west, North Central....any other thing na wash

You May not get direct bus to karaye camp because I didn't also get... just go board any luxurious bus going to kano. When you get to the park, you will see many caps going to karaye kusala dam camp as well as other pcm too. They will collect like 800h to 1k

Bro it's simple, you don't need to pay anyone.... just get doctors report stating you have serious illness that needs urgent treatment in your state of choice, instead of fitness report.... take it to camp. It's done.

No matter the brain washing in camp... don't change your mind. I don't want you to suffer what I'm suffering here in one village in Kano
