If this is correct, then it's not the torque converter lockup. The engine should only die when the car comes to a stop. The way it works is that the TC acts like a (wet) clutch between the engine and the gear. At lockup, the TC mechanically locks the engine and the gear, just like a manual gear will do without the driver operating the clutch.

Don't you have good mechanics where you stay?

I'm in Abuja.... I have spent 40k already still didn't fix it. I bought converter 25k, paid the mechanic the that brought down the girl 10k and other expenses. Right now my car is misfiring after changing the converter.

My mind is telling me it's the starter switch because that was what the error code P0707 showed but people here and outside said it cant cause such. I will go next week to buy it and fix if it doesn't work... I don't know what else to do.

the code your vehicle is giving might be caused by faulty park and neutral position switch ,park and neutral switch harness is open.

what should I do please?

I have changed the converter... the engine still dies anytime I put drive or reverse.

Hello gazzuzz, autologic and kingreign abeg make una help my situation

I don't really get this scanning, I did another scann it pointed at transmission module control. The guy that scanned the car said it's gear problem. I wish I can see anyone who has suffered the same issue.

Very likely your torque converter lockup is stuck on.

Push the car to a forward slope. Start the car in neutral and let it start moving under gravity before engaging drive. If the engine doesn't die afterwards, it's the torque converter. A double confirmation is if the engine also dies after you bring the car to a full stop while still in drive.

it's automatic transmission

I did scan today.... it brought out error code P0707 - Transmission Range Switch Low Input. Can anyone explain better?

I have a kia cerato, This morning when I wanted to go to work... I started the car then put it on reverse. The car shakes as if it's struggling to move then goes off. It starts well but goes anytime I put it in drive or reverse it moves within 5 secs then goes off. My mechanic seems to be confuse about the problem.

2 of the 3 guys were her ex. I spied on her social media she didnt know.
