CelestineC:Of course they will.... some got abuja sef |
I have done my own part....he who has ear let him hear. Go do your Nysc somewhere else leave North.... |
Raintaker:Apart from cow meat, tomatoes, onions, yam.... what again are cheap? |
christejames:I'm not saying serving in the North is entirely bad... But states in South South, South East, South west are better. Northern States are at the bottom. Stop arguing you know the truth |
xamuel17:Ask am oh.... |
christejames:I served in the North too... you seems to care so much about respect compared to your well-being and future. I still maintain that north is the least place to serve. How could you say north is the best place to serve? How many people pay to be posted to the North? The only thing cheap in the North is cow meat and tomatoes.... because they produce it there. House rent is only cheap in the villagers.... which you may not even like. Ibadan, owerri, uyo, enugu, anambra, aba, ado ekiti, calabar, asaba, umuahia, warri, ogun, etc these towns are far better than any state in the North.... when it comes to NYSC |
NYSC: Six (6) Reasons why you should not serve in the North If you want to have a wonderful service year, learn some skills, have fun and have an opportunity of landing yourself a good job, Core northern states should be last in your list. No.1==Lack of Good PPAs:- Due to shortage of qualified teachers in the North, 95% of corpers are deployed to schools with most of these schools located in the rural areas. This means onces you are posted to the North, there is a good chances of you ending up in one of these villages except you bribe some Nysc officials in camp to be posted to town. No.2= Things are not as cheap as you they told you:- Yes! The only thing you can buy cheap here is foodstuffs like cow meat, tomatoes etc. Every other thing goes almost same price you would get it in other states, except those things that are predominantly produced in the North. Don't fall for the scam things are cheap here, it's just a format to get people to serve here. No.3=Having another source of Income apart from your alawee is difficult:- I have read tales where corpers organized private lessons and venture in other business to augment income but that's very hard in the North due to their attitude towards education, nobody might patronize you if you organize private lessons and most private schools in the City already have extra moral classes included in their school activities. No.4=Insecurity:- Most Northern States are underpoliced! There are no enough presence of police and other security agents to protect you incase of any crisis. This is why there are lots casualties recorded anytime crisis broke out. Anybody who served in the village in any northern states can attest to this, you rarely see policemen unlike what we have in the south. No.5=Accommodation Problem:- Most Schools and ministries have no accommodation for you once you're posted to the Capital cities of Northern States. Yes! Same problem that's also being suffered by corpers serving in Lagos, Abuja and Portharcourt. A good self contained apartment in Kano City is rented almost same amount with the ones in Ibadan, addo ekiti, calabar, Enugu, Uyo , owerri etc. Note: If you're posted to the village, you will be provided with accommodation. No.6=Less hope of getting ratained in your PPA:- This one needs no explanation since you are most likely to be posted to the village, you will get tired of the place before your POP, so retaining you is out of the picture even if they do, you will gladly reject the offer. Note: These are my personal opinions and observations, I also agree that serving in the North is not entirely a bad idea because there's also some good stuff here. This is to guide perspective corp members to make the right choice. Thanks Cc: Seun Lalasticlala mynd44 yokiti CrazyMan Ogbeche77 |
NYSC: Six (6) Reasons why you should not serve in the North Any prospective Corp member who wants to have a wonderful service year, learn some skills, and have an opportunity of landing himself a good job, Core northern states should be last in your list. I'm not saying that serving in the North is entirely a bad idea, No! But you're better off serving in other geo political zones than core Northern States. Note: the following reasons are my personal opinions and observations while serving in the North. I might be wrong though, and it can be argued too. Let's go.... No.1==Lack of Good PPAs:- Due to shortage of qualified teachers in the North, 95% of corpers are deployed to schools as teachers with most of these schools located in the rural areas. This means onces you are posted to the North, there is a good chances of you ending up in one of these villages except you bribe some Nysc officials in camp to be posted to town. Trust me living in these villages is not easy ranging from epileptic power supply, language barrier, scarcity of water etc. No.2= Things are not as cheap as you they told you:- Yes! The only things you can buy cheap in the North are foodstuffs like cow meat, tomatoes, onions and yam. Every other thing goes almost same price you would get it in other states. Fish, Rice, beans, groundnut oil(not locally made), indomie, red oil, provisions, Garri, etc are sold the same price as in other states. In fact, you will buy rice cheaper in Abakiliki than in the North. Don't sell your future because of plate of food. No.3=Having another source of Income apart from your alawee is difficult:- I have read tales on how corpers organized private lessons and venture in other business to augument income but that's very hard in the North due to their attitude towards education, nobody might patronize you if you organize private lessons and most private schools in the City already have extra moral classes included in their school activities. Business kwanu? Don't even go there because you won't even stand a chance, an hausa man is ready to sell goods with just 40naira and also offer his services way cheaper than you. No.4=Insecurity:- Most Northern States are underpoliced! There are no enough presence of police and other security agents to protect you incase of any crisis. This is why there are lots casualties recorded anytime crisis broke out, Because before security agents will mobilize and arrival at the scene alot of damages has been done already. Anybody who served in any northern states can attest to this, you rarely see policemen unlike what we have in the south. No.5=Accommodation Problem:- Most Schools and ministries have no accommodation for you once you're posted to the Capital cities of Northern States. Yes! OYO is your case. Same problem that's also being suffered by corpers serving in Lagos, Abuja and Portharcourt. A good self contained apartment in Kano City is rented almost same amount with the ones in Ibadan, addo ekiti, calabar, Enugu, Uyo , owerri etc. Note: If you're posted to the village, you are most likely to be provided with accommodation, I think this is also done nearly in all states. Corpers serving in my village have accommodation free too. No.6=Less hope of getting ratained in your PPA:- This one needs no explanation since you are most likely to be posted to the village, you will get tired of the place before your POP, so retaining you is out of the picture even if they do, you will gladly reject the offer. Other reasons worth mentioning include: Harsh Weather, Lack of Social Activities, language barrier, etc. Written by Ifeanyi Ikwuako |
Kingsley1000:Brother please don't ignore this advice, I beg you with the name of everything you hold dear. ladyF:He's yet to make a public appearance.... we're expecting new camp commandant any moment from now. |
Everything returns to normal in kano state orientation camp karaye today. I want to salute the efforts of the NYSC state coordinator of Kano state for the swift resolution of the crisis at the Nysc orientation camp. Firstly by immediately decamping the camp commandant (Mr terror). Secondly by apologising to all kano corp members and assuring the corp members that the Egyptian we saw last night, we will never see again. Everything is now back to normal in camp and kano camp is now a fun filled camp. As I file in this report there's a football competition going on this right now by platoon 1 vs platoon 4 Mr Ladan Baba, NYSC state coordinator also promised to replaced the damaged chairs which was destroyed yesterday by corp members. Sir, you are truly a father and the entire 2017 batch B stream 1 corp members are proud of you. Cc: Seun Lalasticlala mynd44 yokiti CrazyMan Ogbeche77
