If you have deferred your admission to January, I guess there is no rush to do medicals. You can wait for medical call, just my opinion.

Well, I am not sure who gave you the September 18th deadline, but I was given Sept 5th deadline by Faduma Green, after i pleaded and pleaded for an extension.

A friend of mine who resides over there in Canada said the national drivers license of Nigeria is valid in Canada and will be allowed to drive if you've one and also would help to apply for that of Canada when expired.

Yes, I have deferred.. Next plan is to wait to hear from them against Winter Semester-January.

I doubt it is your birth certificate. That is never an issue. If I were to guess, perhaps bank statement, transcripts. If all your documents are legit and all answers you have on form are honestly answered, you should just chill, it will go back to review of eligibility again. I know you asked this question several weeks ago. Some told you it’s a system error. I had long suspected and expressed that it was not.

Correct. But it is not only documents that is checked. Information you answered on CIC forms is also verified for authenticity.

So it might be many things..

From what I have gathered, when an application get to the Canadian High Commission, it goes straight to background check which is in two ways. One is done by CSIS for security and criminal check while the second one is conducted by the quality control unit for document check and verification. Once your application get to the VO for a review, your application changes to "we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements".
IF ALONG THE LINE THE VO HAS CONCERN WITH CERTAIN DOCUMENTS YOU INCLUDED IN YOUR APPLICATION, HE WILL RETURN YOUR DOSSIER BACK TO THE CONTROL UNIT FOR FURTHER VERIFICATION.
That might be the reason your eligibility started and went back to processing.

Errm.. Let me be sure, we are on the same page. On Aug 7th it change to "we are reviewing eligibility" and on the 8th Aug it changed back to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility". While background check remained "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information" at both period.

From observation it's not a good sign for eligibility to start then later go back to background check instead of proceeding medical request. I think something was not convincing enough!

Wish I have a logical explanation for that, unfortunately I don't.

If you want to learn patience, then apply for Canadian visa. Processing time now 11 weeks ...na God win.

Applied 15th June (online). Eligibility stared almost three weeks ago, and I've been waiting and waiting and waiting. June applicants, may our prayers be answered.

I sent an email to the international office and they replied that they gave me till 5th of Sept to fill the program deferral form and send it back. They wont issue a new LOA until I hear a decision form the embassy.

Tbh!!! I don't know what to do if the TRV comes out after you defer. I think you will have to contact CIC to inform them, or maybe you when you get to Canny land, you will sort that out. Maybe we can ask the Guru's in the house.

Yea, will probably defer. Although I am hearing something about 18th Sept deadline,but i didn't get the memo. Classes they say start Sept 5th, and deadline to register for courses on the 11th if am correct.

But am hopeful.

Means your application is still waiting approval. As time goes on your status changes and you get a notification update from CIC sometimes. Don't be afraid we are in the same boat.
