IbrahimITNS:
Good morning.
Please Guru in the house, i applied since june 15 and i did Biometrics june 22. Since then no update and my resumption at Conestoga college is Sept 4 when classes start.
I want to do my medical and send to them, is this reasonable?
If it is then what document will i take to children practice for the medical?

I will appreciate a prompt response.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 10:07pm On Aug 22, 2018
It baffles me too, all of the people that their profile status changed from eligibility review on Aug 7th didn't change back to processing, only the both of us and I am wondering why.

Don't even know what to think anymore. Please let me know Aysem's response.

Biakwa:
Mighty,

Nothing bro. Just there no change, I just sent Aysem mail today about the delay hoping to hear from her.. But it baffles me what went wrong as our application showed Elijibility review and went back to processing and remained there over two weeks now.. Hoping for the best as I have been delayed in my previous application .....who has withness this kind of changes and what was the outcome at the long run.....
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 8:59pm On Aug 22, 2018
Amen Bro!!

Naijaforeigner:
Thanks bro, you too much. God will perfect your application and you shall surely testify in jesus name (amen).

I don’t know if it is Aysem or Faduma that is responsible for the sept 18th date. The lady jumxie did not mention.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 2:33pm On Aug 22, 2018
Eligibility has not started.

If you are looking for off campus accommodation, try this link

https://www.fanshawec.ca/student-life/campus-services/housing/campus-housing.

or email offcampushousing@fanshawec.ca for details.

Please which of them is "sharing" Sept 18th Faduma or Aysem?

Naijaforeigner:
Thanks so much bro, you seem to know these people very well. I will do as you have mentioned.

How far with your application? Eligibility review started?

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 2:17pm On Aug 22, 2018
How far any luck on your app?.

Biakwa:
Mighty,

What was Lagos response to your mail to them, yet to get response from them...
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 11:01am On Aug 22, 2018
Bro I dey o!!..Aysem gave me till 29th of August to defer if I don't have a study permit by then.

Try and toast Aysem (aonar@fanshawec.ca) very well, I am sure he can pull some strings for you to resume in September. I doubt you will get any help from Faduma Green (intafrica@fanshawec.ca) and I am talking from experience. You can send Aysem a side email without copying intafrica@fanshawec.ca, a note to her soft side, I am sure she will help.

Naijaforeigner:
Mightyola how far bro, did you defer? Mailed the school to tell them I might be late for resumption as I just submitted my passport on Monday but did not get a response from them. The emails I sent to are below.

I sent emails to aonar@fanshawec.ca and intafrica@fanshawec.ca

Modified: I requested for extension till the 10th of September and Aysem replied Almost immediately (early morning).

kceecool:
As at when I applied, processing time 9wks
And yes you right by 28th August will be 8wks
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 10:30am On Aug 21, 2018
I was pushing to resume in September, but they declined. I am to send a copy of my visa to the international office as of yesterday 20th of August, and since I do not have a visa yet, and I sent them an email pleading for more time till September, they only extended it till 29th of August.

They sent me an initial email stating they wont push the 20th of August deadline for me, but someone later sent another email, giving me till 29th of August to send a copy of my student Visa. Are you a June online applicant?

hotcakept2:
See what you said here na!

Sorry, I should have posted the response from Lagos visa office. See response below:

We write in reply to your email.

As indicated on our website, the processing times provided are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all applications during that time period and are subject to change. As these processing times refer to 80 percent of applications, some applications will fall outside of these timeframes. In addition, as they are an average, there will be some fluctuations in processing times at peak periods during the course of the year.

That being said, please be assured that the application has been received and is in process. As soon as processing is completed you will be notified.

What was the processing time when you applied?. Technically, your app would be 8 weeks by the 28th of August, if my calculation is correct?

Biometrics 3rd July

I think it's time we stop this "Mali Number" drama. Just regular spam calls and I doubt it's associated with CIC, besides if they want to verify any information won't they call rather than flash you many times?. Has anyone successfully picked any of these calls from Mali?. Before I applied for study visa, funny numbers from Mali come through. A colleague of mine at work was complaining last week that a strange number from Mali has been flashing her, and I joked about it, that maybe her destiny husband is from Mali. Trust me,she has nothing to do with CIC.

Google is your friend and oracle. Do some research and you will find out that this "Mali Number" thing is not new and has nothing to do with your study app or CIC.

hotcakept2:
Is there anyone here who wishes to go to fanshawe college but has not being granted visa but resumes September?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 10:53am On Aug 17, 2018
Yes they can see you at the airport. You can't come out of the Airport. They will have to come inside to see you.

orobs93:
will I be able to see my relatives at the airport I mean can they visit me were ever I am in the airport during the layovers or can I meet them around the airport during layovers in Heathrow airport ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 10:20am On Aug 17, 2018
Best of my knowledge, as long as you don't have plans of leaving the airport and going into the city, you don't need a transit Visa. You would just have to wait in the airport. There would be free wifi, so charge your phone and your laptop to keep you company. Best of Luck

Good day my people:

I have a quick question to ask.

I recently got my TRV application approved and would be travelling from the EU with a valid residence permit to Canada. Most of the flights that I have seen have brief layovers (4 hours max in the UK). I would like to know if I will be needing a transit visa to go through the UK. The airline could not provide me with this information. Your urgent answers are needed so as to enable me make an informed decision before the prices go up again.

God Bless!!!.. Fellow Fanshawe brother.

Naijaforeigner:
Let me start by thanking all the gurus of this great thread, you guys rock. Thank you so much jnyuwa02 and Frankrobbn1 and the guy that made that list on the first page, God bless you guys.
I make a special prayer for you today Jnyuwa02, as you have been a blessing to many People on here, God Almighty will perfect everything that concerns you in Jesus name (amen).

I started my journey late June and had to read close to 50 pages of this thread within a week.

I got all documents and applied July 10. My application to Canada was a last minute try. I had a 2:1 in business but the only school I could find as at late June was Fanshawe college and I picked PGC logistics and supply chain management (LSCM), got admission and paid first term fees.

Documents submitted - Paper Application - submitted July 10

All IMM forms

My personal statement of account - mum transferred over £16,000 in 3 tranches via an agent.

A sponsors letter from my mum - I actually wrote this letter for my mum ( I saw sample on the first page) and strongly emphasised how she has been the one who sent me to do BA in UK and paid for 4 years without owing. I made sure this letter was not more than a page and straight to the point.

- Letter of explanation (LOE) from me - I detailed the course I was going for, focused on how I have had a good record in the UK, no criminal convictions and always obeyed the rules. Also mentioned how I never missed classes for 4 years and completed my studies without any issue. I stressed on how I love challenges, stating how I moved from Nigeria to UK alone (culture change, new people et al) and how I would love to try a new challenge in Canada and try education over there and then concluded with, once I am done with the PGC LSCM in Canada, I would come back and take over my mums company. p.s my mum owns a company in Nigeria.

I wrote my LOE myself using the sample on the first page and then sent it to my brother who is a PHD holder to proof read for errors. I Told him I am satisfied with the content all I needed was proof reading for errors. If I remember correctly, I made sure my LOE was not more than 600 words.

- birth certificate, my passport page, mothers passport page, C of O of my mothers house, CAC documents for my mothers business, proof of payment of first term tuition fees, BA certificate, transcripts.

All these documents were photocopied and no original was collected at London Canada VFS office.

- no medicals (not needed for applicants in UK) and no Police certificate.

The things that scared me were;

(1) I forgot to explain the lump sum. I honestly cannot tell how I forgot to explain this after reading this word for word before submitting my documents.

(2) Difficult convincing the VO in my SOP why I would be leaving UK with a 2:1 with the option of doing masters here in UK in a university but decided to do PGC in Canada when the fees were almost the same? To make matters worse, the course is a very common course in UK in almost all Universities.
Infact, my application was screaming this guy wants to run away.

(3) I am a matured student - 31 years.

(4) I also forgot to show my USA visa (still valid till Dec 2019), Dubai stamped passport page.

After I submitted, I fasted day and night for at least 9 days. I have never fasted more than a day in UK in my 4 years of being here. This whole process taught me many things I will never forget.

Finally let me say this, on 10/08/18 (Last week Friday), I listened to a convention online by Pastor EA Adeboye and once he was done with his sermon, he asked everyone to stand up for prayers. Just before he asked people to pray, he paused and suddenly said
"the lord said there is someone here, that one breakthrough you need for your joy to be full, receive it. Something in me told me that word was for me, I jumped up, claimed it and kept on praying with it.

I sincerely pray for as many that are still hoping on God for their visas, your joy would also be full before this month runs out if you believe. this whole application is just Mercy of God. p.s I am not saying don't put in work, put in maximum work, put all documents and then pray.

Thank you to wheyme, galala123, lagos2canna, bismo, ezriela, mightyola, shizzleadedapo, bbclue and every other person. I am so grateful.
