Seeing this for the first time. Thanks for the info.

I did as you suggested with my medicals and it has just been updated as "Passed".

I also emailed my School like you suggested and got a rather harsh response, stating they won't be able to give me more time to hear from CIC regarding my application.

So i might have to defer the second time.. sadly

jnyuwa02:
I have answered this question before you are not listening that is all. Review of eligibility is almost never started and it goes back to pending. Possibly a few of your documents needed to be further vetted and it went back to that department. I know some people here told you that it is a glitch that will correct itself within a few days. That it has not corrected itself after one week tells you something else.

Nigerians always look desperate?

I’d be damned if you haven’t lived anywhere else, or God forbid stepped foot out of Nigeria. ...This is deep and LOUD

Paying fees in my opinion isn’t desperation, it’s putting to rest the VO doubts about your financial capability to pay your fees.

Insufficient fund is a valid condition for visa refusal! Paying your full tuition most times makes you invisible to this visa refusal condition.

It’s not that deep.

Everyone should package his/her visa application whichever way he/she feels is best and stop forcing questionable opinions on others.

So what about schools that give you a deadline to pay first semester fee. I applied to Fanshawe college and I was given a payment deadline for the program or I will lose the admission.

NeyofeedNigEnt:

Why paying school fee when u never get your visa.
Fee payment doesn't guarantee approval.
It even looks desperate to some VO

First I doubt that CIC will carry out a physical check on all applications they receive, maybe in some cases where they doubt the authenticity of the documents and need to verify. But going back to the draw board, whether anyone hoards information about their application, if am familiar with the anthem here, is to be honest with all documents to be submitted when applying. Perhaps if the applicant was refused based on fake documentation, it wont be about hoarding information but why did he take that path. Just my two cents

kpizzle:
I suspect people are hoarding information and only coming out with the true picture after been approved. Well, we can't fault them since it is to their prerogative to share or not but I think it will be beneficial to be open and reduce the brain work the gurus are doing.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 7:54am On Aug 15, 2018
Can you shed some more light about the people who came to ask questions. Did they identify themselves as reps from CIC?

shegxyt:
Thanks Doyenrey.

Documents Submitted:
- Applicants CIC forms (although omission and mistakes in the section: tuition fees, room & board and funds available for my stay)
- Uncle's account statement ($24K) and financial support letter
- Friend's Company account statement (N86m) and financial support letter
- University Admission deposit receipt ($500) and online application payment receipts ($145 this year & $130 few years back)
- Retirement Savings Account statement (N2.3m)
- My Registered Company CAC Document

Supporting Documents:
- LOE
- Educational Certificates (Nigeria & UK)
- Marriage Certificate
- CV
- Employment Letters
- Just 2 Payslips (last year Nov & Dec from foreign country...couldn't get others)
- Resignation Letter
- Current & Old passports with travel history (Good travel history to about 12 countries several times without issues - passport filled up before expiry)

Observation: Does the CIC come for physical background checks? The house I reside now is my personal building and I forgot to include the document in the application but It was used in the registered company as office address. About 2 people came to the house shortly when my status changed to "Background checks is in progress" to ask my wife questions.

It shall ALL end in praise for those waiting IJN. Amen.
Note that "Waiting time is not a wasting time" Pray and seek for God's favour in your waiting time!!!

Yea I got the mail. I will email them today, attaching a snapshot of my online profile and asking them for more time.

I checked my online profile early this morning, still nothing, no update. I will mail CIC later this week.

I have deferred my admission once, this will be the second time,so it has to be the last resort, as I intend to buy more time with the school. I also believe that lectures does not start till the 11th of Sept or so, that's me speaking of my program.

Biakwa:
Mighty,

I think you also going to Fanshawe and you got their mail. What is your take? as am looking at options of opting for deferring to January..
Mainwhile did you notice any change on your status or still same?.....

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 12:37pm On Aug 14, 2018
Thanks. Should i email and also use the WEBFORM CIC regarding this issue.

I uploaded my medicals some days ago(Monday) using the WEBFORM and I also added a note stating the reason why I am uploading my medicals now.

Do i need to mail them once more about this recent development?

jnyuwa02:
You need to write the school and tell them that due to the backlog in visa processing in Nigeria, you need an exception to the rule to allow a little bit more time for the High Commission to finish processing your application.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 12:21pm On Aug 14, 2018
So what should I do?

jnyuwa02:
This is not correct! The embassy has all the info they need from the IRCC form the school sends you to apply for visa. They almost always never contact a school for these information. They have these info also from the forms you have filled. The school doesn’t know whether you are approved or denied visa until you tell them.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 8:35am On Aug 14, 2018
Really!! Thanks.

Lagos2canna:
If the embassy is about to approve your study visa they normally send mail to the school confirming your student number, names, date of birth and start date.
So I will advise you screenshot your cic online account to your school or forward the responses from the Web message to your school
