ShowYoung: Provided that you abide by the conditions of visitor visa, you should be fine applying for study permit. You didn't even need to leave Canada to apply if you could still stay based on the condition of your visitor visa. Is not permitted to apply for study permit in Canada while on a tourist visa |

[quote author=josephb post=121856151]Hi, Congratulations on your approval, when was it approved and where did you apply from?
To your questions, it takes from days to some weeks before your passport is returned to you depending on your location.
Secondly, you will be asked some basic questions like;
Where are you coming from? Where are you traveling to / Why are you here What will you be doing?
How long do you intend to stay? (In this case your return ticket might be requested).
If you are visiting someone you might be asked if the person knows you are coming, if you are a tourist your hotel reservation(s) might be asked.
In some cases you can be very lucky and no question(s) will be asked.
Thanks for your response.
I applied from Turkey and it was approved on 7th of March. The waiting period was 1months and 22days |

Trailblazer21: I had a refusal like this because I applied from a place I had temporary residency status in. My GCMS note showed that lesser value was accorded to my home ties because I didn’t apply from Nigeria. So I think you should think of coming back home and reapplying unless you can proof overwhelmingly strong ties in Nigeria and answer the question of what are you doing in Turkey that’s why the limited employment prospects issue. You have a good profile, your next application will be an approval. Thanks for the insight |

kweje: Your first degree and your choice of study are somewhat aligned.
You did Bsc Biochem here in Nigeria or or Turkey? If in Nigeria, what are you studying in Turkey? How well did you explain your intended move from Turkey to Canada?
In your next application maybe broaden what you could achieve with course, it may not be in environmental sciences but can tither towards it.. you mentioned pollution control… pollution is every where.. it affects our water bodies if those effluents gets into the communities water bodies etc..(I could go on and on here) Lol.
You definitely can broaden this scope on your SOP/LOE Ok. Thanks for your advice. Well appreciated |

kweje: Hmmm, I see then your GCMS notes will really expose the thoughts of the VO on both grounds.
But wait oh, did you mention the huge need for your expertise in Niger Delta n other areas in Nigeria affected by natural and man made causes? My 2cents…
Keep the faith. It will end well. The course is not in the faculty of environmental science. Its applied science. The course focuses on; 1; Quality assurance 2; waste management. 2; Pollution control. e.t.c I have passion for the course. My first degree was in Biochemistry. I was opportune to do my I.T in the Nigeria Bottling Company. i like to work in the area of Effluent treatment plant and Water treatment. That was why i choose the program. |

kweje: Dear MightRance, so sorry. I see you have ordered your GCMS notes, the next time will be a success.
The one of the grounds states on the refusal email.. “limited employment opportunities in home country”
What course are you going for? Are your working now? How did you present the future prospects for the course you chose?
The home ties angle- - lots of ideas have been shared in the past for that.
I wish you all the best as you address the issues and strategize to reapply.
Keep the faith. I applied to Environmental Management and Assessment (Co-op) @ Algonquin College - Ottawa. But i am currently in Turkey as a student THANKS |

makano: Hello Paragon
Alagbon(Lagos) is the office responsible for the Police Character Certificate..
If you don't wanna travel down to Lagos, you can go to the state command of the state you reside, they will have to contact Alagbon on your behalf. But note this can be way expensive..
Doing it in Alagbon is between 4k - 7k.. But doing it from other states will be more expensive.. So it depends on you on how you wanna go about it..
Peace Hello @makano please send me your email. THANKS |

Good day Gurus
I just recently did some finding based on the feedback i review on this trend.
It seems like once eligibility review starts, it takes within 2 months to get a final decision on application.
Who else has observed this? |

makano: Hello MightyRance
If your application has passed the processing time, then you can start sending mails and webform to IRCC..
And your elder brother being your sponsor and submitting a Nigerian account isnt a problem at all.. What the Visa Officer is more concerned about is that the declared funds will be readily available for your studies all through your studies in Canada....
I just hope you showed close relationship with your sponsor..
And its Makano and not mekano, thanks..
It will end in praise..
Peace Ok. Thanks |

tosynn007: Hello @ everyone, I intend re-applying for for study visa which was refused last month.
1 I seem confused and I want to find out if I'm to submit a reviewed Sop and also a LOE? Or am I just to submit an LOE?
2. My dad will be transferring one million as a gift/dash towards my room and boarding. Do I still need to go get a gift of deed or should I just screenshot the transaction reference and explain the lump sum indicating that it was transferred from his account
3. Does using my dad properties and attaching a reference letter indicating I will work for him after the completion of my study suffice enough proof of home ties?
4. Does any one have a LOE template on how to tackle the VO worries
It is very important to note that I was rejected on the basis of personal asset and financial status. Paid my first term tuition. I have applied for gmcs note but can't wait anymore. I will suggest you reach out to @mekano |
