Thank God the press release is out to define the stance of lecturers. It is now left for government to improve on the offer. Negotiations can continue, u can’t imagine the highest paid Prof is #416k and u are adding only 60k to his salary. Would anyone here accept such offers?

Let’s be sincere, Nigerian lecturers are the worst paid in African and the government is not willing to improve the take home pay of these lecturers.

How many of us wants to be lecturers after graduation?

We don’t want o because of the poor pay but go to FIRS and see a first degree holder earning about 400k a Prof is earning.

Allow ASUU to strike for a better welfare package so that they can retain the best brains.

I just hope and pray everything get cleared by September, so we can atleast get a semester before the year runs out.

Unconfirmed info have it that the ASUU exco got invited by the presidency for a meeting.
So if the meeting goes well, they will suspend the strike but if not the strike continues.

That’s the reason for the non release of the press conference for now.


Even lecturers are confused because the rollover strike expired yesterday and no official statement as to their current status.

The memo is now out though.

Same here, be like say there's no glint of hope on the horizon.

After all, We are still young and can enjoy our time alone, try new things or travel the world.

I once held the believe that Marriage is not necessary until I start getting a long term view from people over 40-60 who are single and not a kid to call theirs. And yes, it gets even worse when you have no kid.

It is by that period that loneliness in the real sense will creep in, it's better to have a child, maybe without marriage?.

But then, can a child grow well with both parent? we may say "Yes" without considering the facts that it is a NO.

Lastly, I am not here to make you accept a view contrary to yours. I just want to let you know, views/opinion do change when one gets to a particular age in time, or point in time.

It is not dangerous to have 'out-of-body' (OBE) experiences. There are some experiences which might be strange/different, but rest assured that the OBE traveller will always get back to his body.
The soul is connected to the body by a silver cord, always. As such, you will never get lost. The silver cord is only severed/dissolved at death, when the soul leaves the physical vehicle forever. The silver cord is what keeps the OBE traveler from getting lost, ever. Many OBE have attested to seeing the silver cord, and some have even saw the silver cord of their pets having an OBE.
In fact, it is rather difficult to remain out of one's body, since when one thinks of his own body, he will be instantly pulled back into his body through the silver cord!
As such, an OBE is something that requires practice to achieve conscious control over it. It might be a little scary at first when things are not always crystal clear or under control, but rest assured, nothing can happen to an OBE traveler. It is only our physical body that is fragile and susceptible to being harmed, but this does not carry over to the astral realms, where one can walk through walls and fly around freely.
However, there are OBE travelers who had experienced situations that are strange/difficult. For instance, there was once Robert Monroe traveled to a place where he saw thousands of souls piling upon each other [1], trying to experience the sexual pleasure of the physical, without realizing that it is impossible without the physical body.
Monroe also had numerous times when he met playful dwellers of the astral realms, who seek fun in teasing OBE travelers by pulling their legs, laughing or staring at them. To someone who is an amateur, that would have been really scary, but one needs to realize that in the astral realms, these beings can do no harm, and upon an insistent command by thought, they would go away (they themselves don't actually disappear, but the OBE traveler's frequency will be changed so as to tune out from these lower astral realms into higher astral realms).
There was also once when Monroe met against a huge immovable wall that prevented his return for hours. That seemed more like a lesson that was meant to teach him something - he turned the other way and found his way back to his body. OBE travelers might also experience certain manifestations of their own fears or troubles, in the form of a bear or tiger or some ferocious animal, chasing them or something. These usually only happen in the initial stage of OBE travels, as these are meant to be lessons to be overcome by the OBE traveler. Once these lessons are learnt, they will not appear again, and the OBE traveler will move on and face other challenges in the astral realm.
The other challenge an OBE traveler might face is that the astral realm is extremely sensitive to thoughts. Preston Dennett chronicled his initial experiences of gorging for food forever, till he finally was able to learn to gain control of his own thoughts in that realm, and move on.
In this sense, the OBE experience is only 'dangerous' to the extent one's fears, desires and thoughts are still untamed; once one overcomes these challenges, the astral is indeed a dream come true!
