RedCapChief: Jonathan's only problem was his indebtedness to many people because his government was filled with round pegs in round holes. His desire to have a second term made him turn a blind eye to many cases of corruption. He didn't want to offend anybody but ended up offending everybody.
When he went hard on Boko Haram, Northern Elders accused Ihejirika of genocide. (Remember: An attack on BH is an attack on the North) When he went soft on Boko Haram and allowed the Northern Elders to fix their issues locally, they accused him of cluelessness and insensitivity.
Paradoxically, Nigeria is best governed by a military man like Buhari who doesn't care about making people happy, rather who just does what he feels like.

Politics › One Year Ago, Buhari Promised To Change Nigeria Http://www.aljazeera.com/ind by millhouse(op): 7:31pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
When Nigerians rouse from sleep on April 1, they will again head for filling stations to join the now de rigueur queues for Premium Motor Spirit. This is no big news; queueing for hours at petrol stations has been the most recurring item on the itinerary of Nigerians not only for the past month, but also for the third spell in the past three months. What is news is that when these same people woke up exactly one year ago, the majority of them trooped to the streets in jubilation. Three hours and 47 minutes into that day, opposition candidate Muhammadu Buhari was declared president-elect. Talk to Al Jazeera - Muhammadu Buhari: 'I haven't failed' against Boko Haram But while Nigerians hailed Buhari as a Messiah of sorts, they forgot to remind themselves that no Nigerian leader, democratic or dictatorial, had ever succeeded in delivering socioeconomic prosperity to the masses Joy so often short-lived There was something familiar about the sheer joy that was unleashed on the streets of Nigeria on April 1, 2015. More than five decades ago, on October 1, 1960, when Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa accepted the symbols of Independence from the Queen of England and cheerily declared that he was "opening a new chapter in the history of Nigeria", it was to the delight of millions of citizens. http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2016/03/year-buhari-promised-change-nigeria-160330100241917.html |

Politics › Re: Nuclear Energy Is Good For Nigeria – Femi Adesina by millhouse: 6:19pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
CACAWA: Lol...it appears someone went to the wrong summit.
It is called Nuclear Security Summit and not Nuclear Energy Summit. The issue to be discussed is the need to protect nuclear assets against terror minded countries, rebels and leaders. The only reason Nigeria was invited was because of her position as a member of the UNited Nations Security Seat.
If Mr Femi Adesina knows what he is saying, why did Mr Buhari go with the minister of defence, Director of Nigerian Intelligence Agency NIA and a few other security personnel but didn't go with anyone from ministry of Power, solid minerals and investment?
As an expert, may I make it clear that to develop nuclear energy in the first place, you need to submit a detail report of your assessment. Indicating how you wish to access the highly radioactive uranium (which is in some African countries anyway), how you hope to secure it from health hazards and terrorists, what technical team you have trained or are training To deal with the complexities attached, what Water bodies you intend to located the plants nearby.
In fact before this can be approved, you need to show your strength in protecting ordinary oil pipelines and electricity facilities.
Wait o, is it the people that refused to sell ordinary AK 47 and fighter jets to you that will now give you permission to explore nuclear energy? Knowing fully well that it is the same plants you'd use to generate nuclear weapons?

Or... Was it all a lie? Bubu claiming glory for another man's hard work. Not a single megawatt has been added since he came on board.. Even crashing to point zero for d first time in Nigeria. Body language seems to have turned body odour. What do u expect from a party built on quick sand... Only lies and deceit |

Liam86: Many are screaming sabotage, of course that's not far from the truth. Now, I'd be stupid to be anything close to happy with what's happening in the country at the moment, but if we're being honest that's the same kind of sabotage that played a role in ousting GEJ from office. That kind of steady power that happened immediately after PMB took over? That was someone else's years of hardwork, some people deliberately hid all that from Nigerians to paint the previous administration as clueless and thereafter gave the glory to "body language". Now common to maintain the already attained power generation is ironically rocket science for them. my broda.. The thing tire me. That's how the shehu garba said hi fridge is very cold and takes cold water due to Mr. Body language. Body language has turned body odour all of a sudden. The truth is the APC is a party founded on the Sandy soil of lies and deceit. So if you are still expecting Eldorado from them it's at your own peril. |

AreaFada2: The problem with Africa fora is that matters always take a religious dimension.
Easy to see why we have poor hospitals, poor schools, poor roads, no light, no fuel BUT sparkling mega churches & mega mosques. 10 churches per street, yet no pharmacy or dentist on that street.
After worshiping in these places and forming holy holy, people return to workplace on Monday and continue bribery, looting, corruption, yahoo-yahoo, prostitution, even kidnapping & armed robbery.
What has this got to do with matter at hand? Simple. Over religiosity prevents us from finding practical & scientific solutions to issues, let us abdicate our duties & ultimately shifting all to GOD to handle.
Did China, Japan, Germany and others succeed with this our approach? my Broda... The thing tire me ooo... For my street wey them claim to be residential.. I Have to trek for 15Mins to get to the nearest pharmacy, but church full left right and center |
