midnighter: You are still not getting the point. That the "Fall of the first humans" is seen as a metaphor by some people doesnt negate the fact that human beings are inherently evil. So what is your solution to that evil
How do we atone for the billions of sins that are being committed right now? You don't. You just live and let live. A very wise man once wrote "Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever."(Ecclesiastes 1:4) |

FrLukas: Your mistake is associating the existence of a Divine Being with a particular religion.
The Creator of all that exists is not a Christian God, neither is He a Moslem God.
Once you understand that, you will realize that your first and primary duty on earth is to search for the Truth and not loyalty to a particular religion or sect.

Jidebabs88: Everything God did in the Old Testament is a POINTER to what was to happen in the FUTURE. From the story of Noah to ur citation was done as a WARNING to generations to come. And, like I cited in my post earlier, all who had been b4 Christ was given an equal opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ wen He went hell for 3 days. God is just. Malachi 3:6:“I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." And I'm sure he will repeat the feats of the so-called 'Old Testament' when the man goes overboard again. |

Jidebabs88: Ever since Lucifer's misdeed, evil existed. Evil is opposite God WHO IS HOLY. So, who placed it there? God did! He didn't deny evil wasn't there, yet, our God didn't create a 'remoted toy' but a being that had a chance to choose consciously either to obey God or see something order than God (evil). A God who rains fire from heaven on fowls, goats, sheep and unborn children (Gen. 19:24)is certainly not all holy. God can be anything he likes good or evil depending on who is giving an assessment. He does what is absolutely necessary and ultimately his creatures cannot judge him. |

I concur with the Muslims, Allah akbar, meaning in English: God is the greatest. A God that can make minds capable of doubting his very existence, minds that can believe and die for him if they have to. What a God? I may not be religious but I understand. You got to give man something to believe, something to keep him occupied. -Ecclesiastes 1:13 |

Jidebabs88: God didn't create evil. Check creation story in the book of Genesis, everything He created was good. The first man Adam was the general overseer of God's creation. GOD IS IN LOVE WITH MAN His own creation. So, the rebel, the devil sort to adulterate all what God had done, he did that through Adam, DECEIVING him about God's credibility. Adam lost it! God had other plan, He sent another Adam (JESUS) (1Cor. 15 : 21-22, 45 & 47) not through the seed of the first Adam but through HIS OWN seed to restore what man had lost, paid for man's sins and give man a hope someday to exit darkness into immortal light with Him. The gospel is simple my brother, God didn't send Jesus to end life's transient troubles but to give peace even in the midst if the trouble. (Jn 16:33) God didn't allow Jesus to go through pains to end the world's pain, but ONLY to all who believes has a hope to he comforted. God didn't separate from His only BEGOTTEN Son to prove a POINT to the devil sir, He did it that WE ALL CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE even in this world and world after.
I av so much to say from the Bible but let me just end with ur last point. Do u know Jesus spent three days in Hell? Do u know all who never had the gospel were preached to? Even from Noah's time? (1 Pet 3 : 18 - 20). Do u know that the WORLD won't com to an end until God realizes everyone, every tribe, every nation has a chance to hear about JESUS?
Their might be more than what you've been thinking. God bless you! who put the tree of the knowledge of good and bad in the middle of the garden of eden? (Gen 1:29; 2:17) Common guys, read with an open mind. |

Religion is one of man's greatest inventions. Yes it creates divides, but that's a small price to pay for keeping most people in check. Imagine we all disregarded the Bible's or Quran's view of fornication. Damn, planet earth would be overrun by humans, and the world as you know it would have ended long b4 we were born. Us free thinkers should not fight Christians and Muslims, we need them for balance. I believe God foresaw this a long time ago and he inspired men to constitute religion. I have examined both the Bible and the Quran and i'm sure those books are no ordinary books. |

What i know deep inside me is that the Maker is somewhere, maybe even in this thread, watching us in laughter and catching fun. I believe in a maker or makers as the case maybe. (Gen.1:26) But i also believe that the concept of 'God' as defined by religion is entirely a product of man's fantasy. Take a virtual trip into space and see the wonders of this universe how planet earth is a mere speckle of dust, then you will know your worship is nothing for the master Engineer. |

musicwriter: The assumption that the bible is an authority on God is your No.1 problem. The bible is a European conceptualization of God but God itself has nothing to do with that.
Before you begin your journey to undersranding God, you must first shed yourself of the misconception of the bible or any other so called holy book as an authority on God. Believe it or not, you're already subconsciously doing so. And once you've completed the process, you'll eventually discover God on your own. You'll eventually realize that God is not and cannot be in any book or religion.
God has nothing to do with religion!!. Someone is getting it. |

I cannot doubt the existence of a maker, everything i have seen in this life convinces me of that. What i do not know for sure is whether man can really find his way to him. Do you remember Solomon in the Bible how God gave him wisdom like he gave no other? I will quote what he said in Ecclesiastes 8:17: then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it. (New International Version). |

englishmart: 1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6 This invariably means those who don't believe in Jesus have no business in heaven. Christians worldwide have an estimated population of 2.4billion people Islam records an estimate of 1.9 billion adherents, Hindu has an estimated 1.1bn adherents. The remaining world's population have their own beliefs which includes atheism. If Jesus is the only way to God, what happens to those who don't believe in him? Hell? Well, the Bible suggests so.
2. There are a lot of complications and contradictory remarks in the Bible- a verse says don't drink, another says "Drink for your stomach sake", or "Do not drink wherein excess." Malachi 3:10 a famous Bible verse on tithing speaks about bringing your tithe to the storehouse (church, maybe) Deuteronomy 14:22-26 says otherwise, it says "you should drink and be merry with your tithe". I'm seriously beginning to doubt the credibility of the Bible. Maybe the translators' fault or God told writers different stories on the same issue. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John's account of Jesus and see real contradictions.
3. Does God answer prayers? Well, I'm not really sure about that. Someone might be suffering from malaria, the person takes drugs and still prays, the drugs work, but the person thanks God. Or a successful surgical operation, instead of thanking the doctor, they thank God. Some illnesses that would have been treated led to deaths because a certain congregation who were supposed to take the ill persons to the hospital, circled around praying. Faith without work isn't it still dead? I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue. I spent 80% of 2019 at home because of my misgivings about God's existence. I really wish I could be convinced about God's existence because I'm not even happy to be away from Church because of the views of friends and family.
4. Children of God, or so called children of God tend to suffer more tribulations, hard times and desperate moments, a lot of them scream "Vanity upon Vanity" when secular people live in luxury or spend extravagantly. God tends to turn his back on those who worship Him especially when they need Him most. The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people Repulsive comments are highly welcome What if Apostle John was just another over zealous disciple of Christ? Did you know that the gospel of John is the one that calls Jesus God?-John 1:1.Trust me you wont find it anywhere else except in a scripture written by John if there's any at all. Did you also know that John was the only gospel account where Jesus said 'I and the father are one'?(John 10:30) Did you also know that the doctrine of trinity is based only on the account written by John? (1 John 5:7) What if John was to Jesus as Lai Mohammed is to Buhari? What if....No offense. Just thinking out loud. |

I know APC has failed.....
But let's not forget
UAE produces 2.5 million barrels per day , and shares the revenue among 11 million people Nigeria produces 2.2 million barrels per day, and shares the revenue among 200million people.
So for Nigeria to be like UAE
Either our population goes down to less than 10 million OR
We pursure polices that get us off dependency on oil......
Simples. Isn't that what the UAE are already doing. They gradually developed Dubai into the commercial capital of planet earth in a bid to avoid over dependence on a commodity that will run out of supply eventually. In Dubai it's commerce, in Europe it's sports and manufacturing, think of how much money TV rights earn those European countries just from soccer alone and you'll see we have a long way to go. Population explosion represents a small aspect of our problem if indeed those figures are true, corruption and greed are at the fore front. Did you know that there are more people in China than there are in all of africa? Yet, China is doing just fine. The secret; good governance, strict compliance to the rule of law, and a dynamic economy that is steadily being diversified. |
