chidiokay: Can someone please highlight the side the man promote domestic/ physical abuse
Nigerians are so embodied with inferiority complex such that we easily throw away our culture and values with hopes to sound woke or famz the white
Stop reporting your husband to the police, does that negate dont report your husband to people or anyone that have say in his life
In Nigeria we have a culture of resolving marital issues inviting family, elders/clergy .. it worked for our parent, elders or clergy
Police are not instituted to resolve marital crisis, so a woman that report her husband to police could as well kiss the marriage goodbye instead why not jejely divorce
if the Marriage is toxic, simply walk out! but why women are more endear to ruin men is what i dont get
A woman that holds power and did not use it, did not recognise it nii If it is only inviting family, elders/clergy etc .... couples are better off remaining in Nigeria and shouldn't go to a system, anyone can easily call the police and report, action is very likely taken. Police does not resolve marital issues, their role is to maintain peace between the warring couple while issues are being sorted out but any of them whey wan prove craze is taken of and when any is perceived as an aggressor, the Police knows how to pour "cold water " on that person. Just there are toxic people who are married, there are also well adjusted humans, who also are. |

OALandAgents: He was not authorised and he knows it, but it was advice that Nigerian women needed to hear, so that is why he gave it in a Nigerian language. "Needed to hear or not", that shouldn't be coming from him. If I was there, I would have earlier raised issues with the authorities over that "advice"....he is not in Nigeria. |

OALandAgents: I don't understand Yoruba language , but it seemed to me that the man gave his official advice in English language and used Yoruba to give the important advice that Nigerian women in UK needed to hear.
Clearly that advice is that involving the police in any issue to do with your family is ill advised and would inevitably lead to break up of marriage and even the family.
For me, the man was spot on because he works in the system and he knows that it is an unwritten objective of the authorities to destroy black families so that they find it easier to seize the children and put them into care or adoption.
Some NL women like ivolt, cococandy, pocohantas, Kobojunkieee, 1Sharon commenting do not understand this about UK, perhaps because they have never lived in White Oyibo land. I work here in the UK, with a London borough, work in the children and family services department, where I work with children taken away from their family because of neglect, abuse, domestic violence, drugs etc. The Policeman of Nigerian origin was not authorised to make such statements in either languages. If he wanted to give such advice, do so in personal capacity without wearing the UK police uniform... |

femi4: Its not a crime to wear police uniform and give you an advice. Police is part of our community When a Police officer is on uniform, whatever he says is assumed the official position. If you feel like addressing such, go do that in your personal capacity without wearing the UK Police uniform. |

Laple0541: If you are abroad as a man and your wife is in Nigeria, leave her there. If your children are with her, take them there but leave your wife in Nigeria. Come to see her as much as you can, let her enjoy nice trips around the world if you can afford it but don’t let her leave with you over there.
You will surely thank me later if you take the advice. The man must surely be so low on the food chain, that women in that country he is in, don't find him marriage worthy and e wan dey form boss man for Nigeria wife. If I had such children taken away from their mother, come into the service I work in here in the UK, I will CERTAINLY make sure I take it up and he will be getting and doing some visits that will make him sweat.😂😂 |

End things legally with him through divorce and move on with your life, let him clean up his mess as you are not his therapist.
When I worked in rehab facilities, I most times during family therapy sessions and right in the presence of addict husbands, encourage wives not to stress themselves coming to the rehab regularly.....they should relax themselves and be in a better state for their children, who need them more. |
