@Harlequeen I am not surprised at your take, because we sadly now live in an era where the things most men look for in a woman are typically empty, shallow attributes lacking in any substantive cerebral value. You obviously are not an airhead so you might come across as a handful to a majority of males. You, however, also need to understand that the few real men left around will have their own specifications too, calling into question what the woman has to offer as well... and I am not talking looks or sex (those are pretty much default). It is more about what things matter to her, what non-physical attributes she's got and what her value system looks like. Things like: Can she hold a good, engaging conversation? Does she have money of your own? Does she make quality input to discussions requiring us to employ some strategy in approaching certain matters? Can she keep a secret and hold confidences in trust? Can she watch my six? Just by your submission and the tone of your essay though, it seems that you are widely read and you write well. You come across as cerebral even though you sound like you could get pretty touchy sometimes. I think I'd enjoy getting to know you... not necessarily in a romantic sense (even though I definitely am not averse to this). Send me an email at mindthing@gmail.com if you think I sound like I'm worth checking out. We can either nurture things from there or kill it without mercy if the product is not viable. |
Marriage, at the crux of it, is a gamble in itself. So my biggest fear is losing that wager and having a bad rest-of-my-life as a result. This is because the exact moment one says 'I do', one is getting married in a very specific and particular set of circumstances e.g. -Youre both good-looking and easy on each others' eyes -Money may not be a burning issue -You very possibly could really love each other -You may not yet know the things about each other that you find in-tolerable -Minimal or zero health problems may exist -In-laws may not yet have become the sometimes-demons they can be -Children are probably not yet on-scene etc But if ANY of these parameters undergo the tiniest shift in metrics in the course of the union e.g. -You no longer look aesthetically pleasing to each other -You guys somehow start getting cash-strapped for one reason or the other -You guys fall out of love -You suddenly find things he/she does you simply cannot imagine spending the rest of your life tolerating -Health problems maybe show up that task your financial and/or physical comfort -In-laws get into the fray and muddy the waters of your hitherto amazing con-existence -Children arrive and introduce the typical complexities of their existence into how you interact etc Things start to go down the drain and life becomes an exercise in survival instead of it being lived to the fullest. People, especially Africans, seem to value their mere existence instead of considering the quality of the life they live. Most people in Nigeria, I am sure, will prefer a long, hard life to a short, comfortable one. But hey, each man/woman to his/her own. I am not in favor of or against marriage as an institution, being totally agnostic about getting hitched. I, however, am pretty particular about having people understand the following: 1. Marriage is NOT a status symbol 2. Marriage is NOT an obligation (to parents, your woman/man or indeed society at large) 3. Marriage is NOT what makes the boy a man 4. Marriage is NOT what finally proves how responsible anyone is Marriage, however, IS a gamble. You win or lose depending on the fate of your circumstances. The fear should thus not be of marriage itself, but of the ebb and flow of life's circumstances that could obliterate the harmony of that matrimonial environment. Selah. - |
@Duggedised12, you are incisive, have an engaging sense of humor (which is more common in intelligent people than not), really well-spoken and can stand up for yourself. I am not totally surprised that you are single in this clime, where the things most men look for in a woman are typically empty, shallow attributes lacking in any substantive cerebral value. I am male, not moslem (at least not yet. lol), comfortable in most ramifications of the word by reason of a good career in IT nurtured in firms that pay well above average salaries and spanning 10 years of my not-so-short life... plus, hell yes, I am more single than a solitary matchstick in a box , probably for pretty much the same reasons that you are.You seem to be someone i'd enjoy having in my corner... not necessarily in a romantic sense (even though I definitely am not averse to this). Why not let's hook up and see if we click enough to fly? Send me an email at mindthing@gmail.com if I have tugged any one of your heartstrings free ![]() |
Hey OP, that'll be 'SystemSpecs', which is the company. Remita is the product. |
Chigold101:Hi sir, Dino misled the country on 3 counts, as follows: 1. THE LIE: Remita is a company. THE TRUTH: Remita is a product - an e-payment/collection platform. SystemSpecs is the company that owns the product. 2. THE LIE: Remita makes NGN25billion daily from collecting FGN revenue. THE TRUTH: NGN8.6bn, not 25bn, has been made IN TOTAL(not daily, sir) since the TSA initiave started so far. And even that was being shared, per contractual agreement, between SystemSpecs, the CBN and participating collecting banks. (Note that this has been refunded temporaily per the President's request pending possible renegotiation of the contract) 3. THE LIE: Remita has somehow contravened some laws of the country and is possibly involved in fraudulent deduction of FGN's revenue THE TRUTH: Remita is a collecting platform, not an FGN revenue collector. Infact, CBN's Remita profile is branded 'CentralPay'. CBN does the collection, it has simply chosen to use Remita for that function. Then, no fraud has been committed here... there was a bidding process that selected Remita as the choice of platform, and OAGF & the World bank were involved in certifying the platform. 1% derivative to be shared by the afore-named parties was also part of the resulting contract. I hope with these few points of mine... (you should know how it goes...) |
edogirl2:Remember the 1% income derived is being shared with SystemSpecs by CBN and the banks. It is cheaper and more efficient for all parties to get their share of the income at source. It makes for less transactional charges and fewer accounting entries to split immediately. This was also part of the contractual agreement that had World bank oversight. Besides, there are detailed reports provided by the platform showing exactly how the money is moving. It is why the initial 25bn allegation was quashed very quickly and CBN knew what to expect back, countering Dino Melaye's wild and un-founded assertions. SystemSpecs wasnt 'caught' and didnt 'rush' to return money. When President Buhari was told about the contractual terms (way before Dino Melaye came out ranting), he ordered the earnings from everyone (not just SystemSpecs) returned and charges suspended for now till re-negotiations are concluded... So FGN has been using Remita to channel revenue to the TSA for weeks now at no charge. If this is not integrity, i dont know what it is. |
edogirl2:My Response>>>>>>>> Again, not so. There is no other platform offers the combination of features i have listed above ALL ON ONE PLATFORM. Whether people like you like it or not, this country WILL move forward in integrity and technology. You might want to do some research on Remita and SystemSpecs before placing your money on a bet for this prediction you have made. |
There are indications that Dino Melaye, a senator representing Kogi West may have misled Nigerians with accusations that Remita, a payment platform owned by Systemspecs is milking the country by charging 1% as fee on all transactions. According to a letter issued on December 17, 2013 and circulated to all Deposit Money Banks, the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] have debunked Melaye’s statement. Titled “Commencement of Federal Government independent revenue collection under the Treasury Single Account [TSA] initiative” the CBN stated in the communication that “a fee of 1% of funds collected is payable, and this would be shared by solution provider and participating banks”. Further investigations showed that the CBN, before it selected Remita as its gateway, examined existing local and foreign infrastructures before its endorsement and choice of the platform. The CBN approached NIBSS; a company owned by all Nigeria banks; including the CBN, the apex bank also reviewed the suitability of RTGS provided by CMA a foreign software house, and was convinced about its unsuitability before SystemSpecs’ Remita was considered. According to facts available online and via the company website, Remita is a payment platform and not a company as many including the Kogi Senator would want the upper chambers to believe. Media reports also claimed that SystemSpecs; owner of Remita-the CBN licensed payment gateway has been in existence for about 23years while Remita has been holding sway in the electronic payments space for about 10 years- long before the advent of TSA. Investigations revealed that during evaluation, the CBN’s requirement-which was an integrated platform that connect to the banks and CBN’s platform, appeared beyond the reach of locally available solution. Nevertheless, to make the selection process transparent, the CBN invited other companies to participate in the bidding as was the required procedure. CBN sources said Remita was offered the TSA project because of its unique capabilities to deliver on the requirement. Investigations further revealed that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation [OAGF] and the World Bank supported the project and its evaluation. “After due diligence, the contract was given to Systemspecs to deploy Remita as the CBN TSA Payment Gateway”, the CBN source said. Recall that Melaye told the senate that Remita is a collection agent. The CBN source debunked this by saying “TSA is not just about collections, but payment and collection. The payment component started since January 2012 with little or no resistance. However, Collections which will have greatest impact on the economy by curbing corruption and blocking leakages was frustrated and repeatedly delayed until the new administration came in and insisted it must take off”. http://expressng.com/2015/11/dino-melaye-misled-the-senate-on-tsa-remita-source/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+expressng%2FLmGT+%28Entertainment+Express%29 |

I have a B.sc in Human Physiology from one of the federal universities in this country, and i can say outright that there is little professional niche for the basic medical sciences in Nigeria. I have personally never looked at my discipline as a meal ticket in itself, because right from when i was in school (i graduated in 2004), even doctors (MBBS holders) had started having their own challenges. I often looked at the kind of cars they drove and how they dressed and simply knew i wanted far more than that. So i started writing my IT certifications from 300L. Now i am almost 10 years in my field of IT, an esoteric field at that because it wasn't vastly popular at the time, and i see my colleagues who are now doctors now not even anywhere close to me in terms of earnings and standing... in actual fact, lots of them have gone either into research (overseas), into business or into administrative medicine because of the allure of the lucre... practice simply cuts it no more (ditto the strikes and protests etc in the health sector these days). So what is my point? 1. Realize that little niche exists for para-medicine in this country 2. Go overseas if you can, para-meds have better working hours and really good pay there, especially in the US, UK and Asia 3. Get your Physiology/Anatomy certificate, and get an education with it, not just literacy. You will find that a little dexterity when applying the kind of mind that got you your degree in the first place to other disciplines will yield amazing results; and 4. Quit whining and start figuring out which of 2 & 3 you wanna do. Better to start late than never. Good hunting. |
Thanks sir, i appreciate. Any recommendations on contacts for the fix? I stay around Gbagada, Lagos. Thanks again. ZIM DRILL: it might be your sender unit in the tank, normally it is attached to the fuel pump |
Hi house. This thread is simply amazing, good work to all consultants. I just got an accord '09, but noticed that even when i fill my tank, the fuel gauge reads just over the halfway mark. What could be the problem, and i'd appreciate a nudge towards someone competent who can help me out very efficiently. Thanks lots in advance. |
Oh really Alright then, i really dont mind if the girlfriend does no chores before we get married. So long as she also does not ask for nor expect a penny from me till we get hooked. This, my friends, is a two-way street ![]() |

@broklyn: I will leave that diagnosis up to your mechanic; but again, nothing is wrong with this car. And it is good for the money. |
@MANGAM/amacom: Those are not bad prices, but unfortunately are not quite up to par for this car. It has been exquisitely well used. Thanks lots. |
