Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir has been assigned to officiate the Champions League quarter-final between Juventus and Real Madrid. The first leg kicks off in Turin on Tuesday evening at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT). Cakir has been appointed to this match, assisted by Bahattin Duran, Tarik Ongun, Huseyin Gocek, Baris Simsek and fourth official Mustafa Eyisoy. The 41-year-old has a mixed record with Juventus, overseeing two wins and two defeats. Most notably, he was holding the whistle in the 2015 Champions League Final, which Juve lost 3-1 to Barcelona. Real Madrid have won five, drawn two and lost two of their matches with Cakir involved. Superstitious Juventini could be interested in the fact the last two have been defeats, 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the 2017 Champions League semi-final and 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur in this season’s group phase.

Real Madrid player ratings vs Las Palmas: Real Madrid warmed up for their Champions League trip to Juventus by winning 3-0 away at Las Palmas on Saturday afternoon. While Zinedine Zidane rested a number of starters, there were a few players in the lineup against Las Palmas who will hope to feature in midweek. Marco Asensio falls into that category, but didn't do too much to make his case for a starting spot in Turin. Below we look at how each of the players performed in the victory. Keylor Navas He overcomplicated his game by trying to take too many touches of the ball, while he had very few saves to make. Nacho Nacho's injury put a real blot on Los Blancos' copybook in Gran Canaria. He looked distraught on the bench and is unlikely to face Juventus. Jesus Vallejo Jesus Vallejo was incredibly solid in defence, as he marshalled the central areas and kept Calleri at bay. Raphael Varane Raphael Varane tussled with Calleri for the majority of the match and the Argentine failed to get the better of him, as Los Blancos earned a clean sheet. Theo Hernandez Theo Hernandez did what he was asked to do well. He was comfortable with the ball at his feet and his speed was impressive. Lucas Vazquez It was important for Lucas Vazquez to come through the match without suffering an injury. He also contributed in attack, while his main goal was completed. Luka Modric He was unassumingly effective on Saturday, as he provided key passes when required. Casemiro The Brazilian was everywhere. His role is so vital to the team dynamic and nobody could get past him easily. Marco Asensio Expectations are so high for the youngster that it's very difficult for him to meet them every single week. He was fine against Las Palmas, but didn't contribute all that much. Karim Benzema With his goalscoring drought behind him, Karim Benzema is finding his form once again. He scored a simple goal from the penalty spot. Gareth Bale The Welshman enjoyed his return to the starting lineup and, after an excellent international break, he returned to goalscoring form with Real Madrid by netting twice. Zinedine Zidane The French coach made many rotations, although it was good resource management and his team still earned all three points. |
With Vallejo's form, I think he should start ahead of varane on Tuesday. Or maybe not |
monerozi5590:I swear bro. He was a god in that back line. |
Goal . 0:3 Poor penalty kick from bale btw. |

Benzema captains on 400th appearance

Real Madrid XI: Keylor, Nacho, Varane, Vallejo, Theo, Casemiro, Modric, Lucas Vázquez, Asensio, Bale, Benzema |
LordAdam16:ceballos is a beast bro. He cold have been in the starting 11 for Liverpool assuming he left last winter window. |
You call up a little boy from castilla and then drops an experienced player at home. Ceballos should leave before zidane destroys his future. |
usbcable:i don't know, bit I felt I was the one judging both players in court ![]() |
Against las palmas The list of 19 players is below: Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Luca. Defenders: Vallejo, Varane, Nacho, Theo, Achraf and Tejero. Midfielders: Modric, Casemiro, Marcos Llorente, Asensio, Kovacic and Oscar. Strikers Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vazquez and Borja Mayoral. |
So isco and Ramos will stay at home with Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo and Keylor Navas while the rest travel south to play against las palmas. |
Happy birthday to our captain, who turns 32 today. ![]()

monerozi5590:I was really suprised and at the same time pissed. Saying such thing can really bring a lot of hate. You need to see how people are reacting on Twitter and other social media accounts. Pochettino has really lost it, I hate him for that now. |
Nice specs. I love the 4000 mah battery. |

Lewandowski to 'force through Real Madrid move' as he wants to finish career at Bernabeu Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is set to force through a big-money transfer to Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain. The Poland international, who has once again been in fine form for Bayern this season, is looking to see out his career with the Spanish giants. And Spanish paper AS are reporting that Lewandowski will tell Bayern that he wants to leave this summer to force his 'dream move' to the Bernabeu. A potential move for Lewandowski to the Spanish capital would be a huge loss for the Bavarians. Their star striker has scored a remarkable 100 goals in just 121 appearances for the club. The Bundesliga giants will have to make their move quickly to replace him and according to AS, they have already lined up three possible replacements in Alvaro Morata, Edinson Cavani and Timo Werner. Despite Lewandowski having his heart set on a move to Madrid, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are also looking to make their move and are willing to pay a staggering £131million for his services. But Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly told Zinedine Zidane that the 29-year-old will be their player in the summer. |
