I will be taking us(those interested) through these DIY home decoration projects like How to paint a pattern on a wall, DIY chandelier etc in other threads. |
Disclaimer: I am not a professional interior designer or decorator. I just enjoy writing about it. So, either take my tips or leave them. |
DIY chandelier: Yep, that's right. You can make your own chandelier. Chandeliers add luxury and are very good source of light for any space. They also make a bold Statement and makes a room look expensive.
|
-Faux Pas Tiling: No, this is not a French class. Faux pas tiling simply means painting a surface to look like tiles. You don't have to keep keeping up with that cold, blah, concrete floor in your house. Apart from tiling, using rug or carpet(some of which can cause a fortune), you can faux pas tile your floor to look something like this:
|
-Patterned Wall: Wanna bring life and colour into that room? You can not go wrong with a patterned wall. Painting pattern on a wall brings life, luxury and a bit of sophistication into a room. Opting for wallpapers can be quite expensive so why not try painting a beautiful pattern on an accent wall? Can turn out to be an exciting Project.
|
Using Wood as a Substitute: Wood comes in handy anytime and it can take any shape. Coupled with the fact that they are very cheap compared to other materials like stone, tiles etc. Wood can be shaped and painted to look like brick, stone, tile, metal... just almost anything. Check out these pictures

You don't neccessarily have to have a 5 or 6-figure budget to make your home beautiful. Here are some easy and simple cheap decorating tricks: -Painting/Repainting: Paint can literally turn straw into gold. A touch of paint can do amazing things. Paint that old dresser or paint a pattern on that '99 coffee table. Paint really makes dry bones rise again and it takes the 'boring, old' look away. |
2romantic: They r all throughfunny you specifically mentioned Nairaland babes as if they are different breeds of people and not Nigerians. |
Upgraded my music library. I downloaded: Run Rabbit run Guilty conscience Cinderella Man LikeToy Soldiers Superman. Haven't listened to all tho. More still coming |
