Remember those fitness watches that measures your heartbeat? well this app uses your index finger to monitor the color changes in your pulse. I was skpetical about it, but when I got to the hospital I tried it and it went with the doctos results.

Who remembers the heart rate monitor on the Samsung S5 that allows you check your heart beat and interprets the results? Apparently what Samsung S5 created as their Unique Selling Point that year wasn’t spectacular at all, since many app developers have found an alternative to having that feature installed in your smartphone. In case you don’t know what I am talking about, I am referring to the Heart Rate Monitor that was featured on the S5 but can now be installed in any Smartphone.

And Guess what guys! IT ACTUALLY WORKS

FYI: Even though this isn’t a fresh news, I feel most people might not be aware of this.

MEET HEART RATE MONITOR BY AZUMIO

This app was given the best Health & Fitness app on Mobile Premier Awards, I installed it to see if it would check my heart rate accurately, so what I did was; when I went to the hospital for check up, I told the doctor to check my heart rate which he did, then I checked immediately with this app and guess what. it was slightly the same, with only 1-point difference.

So how does it work?

Just download the app from Google Play Store using this link (check my blog, misstechy . com) after installing, you should get a screen that tells you how to go about it.. It’s basic, in order to check your heart rate, all you have to do is activate the app and put your index finger on your camera screen when the flashlight lit up. see the images below

When it’s done, it gives you a highly accurate result of your heartbeat and tells you where you stand. If it detected a problem, it would simply start over. Now, I decided to test its limit, when I got home, I went up and down the stairs more than 4 times, to see if it would give me the same result and to my much-relived self, the heart rate monitor gave me a faster heart beat rate. You can interpret the result using their measurements to see if you need to visit the hospital

So with the way Samsung made us believe this was a USP, you can have this app installed on your Tecno, Innjoo, Infinix, or any smartphone for that matter.

For now you can upgrade to a technical preview for free, but as reported, the Windows 10 would offically be launched in June

The most anticipated update has finally been pushed to all HTC One users in Nigeria, I just confirmed it from my phone and YUP!!!!! we are live on the Android 5.0 network baby. The update came yesterday, but I upgraded mine today.


To activate, Go to your Settings, click on About and then select Software update!

Make sure you are connected to a WIFI Network, because the update is 723.17mb in size

I just made a post on Nairaland by 11:00am today, so I was shocked when I checked by 11:30am and discovered it was down again, but fortunately, it came back on by 11:47am.

Apparently, it was probably due to some maintenance or maybe the hosting service had a downtime, but whatever reasons that might come up, this gets to show how important Nairaland is to Nigerians. ( Me included)

BATTLE OF THE OS – Windows 8 vs Windows 10: THIS IS A FACEOFF BATTLE BETWEEN THE TWO OS GIANTS.. BE PREPARED FOR BLOOD SHED..

It would be interesting to note that so many Windows users still use Windows 7, Vista and YES even the XP however, when the Windows 8 was launched, some of us (including me) were disappointed and we aired out our opinions. Apparently, Windows listened to us by providing us a beautiful update to the Windows 8 OS … Meet the Windows 10.

According to Tech Radar, The Windows 10 OS could officially launch as early as June 2015, but before the official release, Please read and of course tell me your opinions

1. THE RETURN OF THE START MENU

Remember when Windows 8 was launched and people were really talking about the lack of a start menu?, most people complained (like me) and we had no choice but to manage it like that, anyways to all the Windows 7, Vista and of course our XP users out there, Windows 10 kicked the Windows 8 in the chin by going back to the start menu approach. Whoopie!

What this means is you won’t have all those awkward big fat tiles taking over your screen.. can I hear an Amen! The anticipated windows 10 comes with a start menu bar just like the Window 7, though instead of those big fat tiles taking over the screen you now

Remember Cortana, well the Windows 10 slyed its junior brother (Windows 8 ) by having the Almighty ( well not so almighty based on this article) Cortana feature. With the Cortana feature, you can now get a powerful search and personal assistant that Microsoft first introduced on its phones.

3. WINDOW 10 USERS GET READY TO BE NOTIFIED

Yes! If you have ever used a Mac laptop, you’d appreciate this feature. The Windows 10 is going to feature a notification bar where you can get alerts for new emails, Windows updates or security flags, just like your smartphones notification. The Notification appears neatly on your taskbar .. making it very easy to be well notified

4. KICK THE INTERNET EXPLORER’S ASS OUT.. IN COMES THE SPARTAN BROWSER

Remember the annoying browser called Internet Explorer well you won’t have to deal with it anymore as Microsoft is launching a new web browser for Windows 10, which is currently called “Spartacu.. sorry Spartan” , This browser comes with an annotation feature, a reading mode and of course it would be integrated with the Cortana app.
