Phones / Infinix Note 7: Top 5 Features/Issues by MissTechy(f): 3:29pm On May 14, 2020
The Infinix Note 7 officially launched today, and the major bummer with the device is the fact that it comes with a HD+ display and a USB type C port embarassed

During my time with the device, I also noticed it comes with a couple of new features, for example you get the DTS sound experience, Live transcribe that has baked into the Notification and a couple of others. I also shared some major issues I noticed on the Note 7.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uD62Ta6HwE

Do you think the features are good enough for a price tag of N89,000?

P.S.
Other specs include:

6.95-inch HD+
Android 10.0, XOS 6.0
Helio G70
4GB / 6GB RAM
48MP + 2MP + 2MP + 2MP Rear Camera
64GB / 128GB ROM / SD-Card

Tobi try and add background music/sound to your videos. Try to make the background sound not too dull nor overwhelming. It's gonna add flavour to your videos

Thank you so much for the advice. I usually do that but I discovered that most people don't like it cos it sometimes drown the message that is being passed, but with what you have said, id try to find a blance.

Really appreciate this.

Last week, I tried out MTN'S 5G network and I was able to download a 2GB movie in 19 seconds as opposed to 5 mins on 4G LTE. However, as I said in my video, while the 5G speed test might not translate to real-world usage, it does give a clear insight as to what to expect with 5G in Nigeria.

Phones / Telco Hack Day: Cyber Fraud Experience Spurs Lady To Be Cybersecurity Profession by MissTechy(f): 2:06pm On Nov 21, 2019
Rollback the years to February 2017, Odugbemi Oluwadamiloju was defrauded online whilst paying for an internet security course, ironic right? She successfully made payment (or so she thought) but to a cloned payment portal.

Despite efforts to resolve the issue, neither her nor her bank could trace the beneficiary of the transaction.Rather than dwell on that experience and count her losses, she vowed never to be in such a hopeless situation, deciding to do whatever it takes to live up to that. Having no background in information security, she did not let that deter her ambition, mastering to code and learn other shenanigans associated with the field.

Fast forward to November 2019, MTN Nigeria organizes the ‘Telco Hack Day’, a competition designed to support local tech talents and showcase their ethical hacking skills. Oluwadamiloju and sixteen other finalists progressed from the competition and were offered the opportunity to join the Quality Assurance Panel of the company, where they ’ll be tasked to perform vulnerability checks in order to create more secure products and platforms, in the next 12 months. She’s ready to put the skills she has acquired over the past few years to use, co-creating more secure products and platforms, ensuring that no one ever has to experience a similar ordeal as she did in  2017.

Career / SAP Africa Honors 26 Young Nigerian Graduates, Partners With Covenant University by MissTechy(f): 5:55pm On Nov 12, 2019
SAP recognized twenty-six outstanding Nigerian candidates who successfully completed a three-month intensive digital training and certification program today. The SAP Young Professional Program is organised by SAP in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and hosted by Deloitte. The graduation ceremony was held in Lagos and was attended by Mr Hakeem Fahm, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, who represented Lagos State Government.

During his address, Mr Fahm said:“True transformation is only possible when there is a shift in mindset from the ordinary to the outstanding as exhibited by SAP with its efforts at putting an end to digital skills shortage which affects the growth and innovation potential of even the most successful global organisations.  Around this time last year, we were all gathered here to celebrate the first crop of graduates of this program, who have since then supported organisations to thrive in the Digital Era thanks to the knowledge and skills acquired from the program.

The intensity at which the SAP work-ready digital skills agenda is impacting lives is a testament to the fact that with proper grooming, African youth can indeed play active roles in the much-anticipated digital skills and technologies -dominated future economy.”Great urgency to upskill Africa’s youth The SAP Young Professional Program, an initiative offered under the umbrella of SAP Skills for Africa, has since its launch in 2012 trained and graduated more than 990 youths across Africa and more than 2550 talents globally. According to Cathy Smith, Managing Director at SAP Africa, there is great urgency in equipping more African youth with digital skills, as more than 40 million high-skilled workers will be needed globally by 2020. “Considering that youth account for 60% of Africa’s unemployed and that the continent has the largest and fastest-growing youth population in the world, it is imperative that we equip our young talent with the skills they need to be active participants in the global economy,” said Smith.“The overwhelming response, so far, has further fuelled our organization’s commitment to continue training programs that will help empower the local communities by closing the digital skills gap; providing businesses with the right support system; and powering economic expansion,” said Smith. “We thank our customers and partners including Deloitte, Eta-Zuma Group, Oryx Systems Limited, SHELL Nigeria and WYZE Consulting, that hired our recent program graduates of the SAP Young Professional Program in Nigeria and hereby join our efforts to enable today’s youth for the Digital Era.”Career kick-start for young professionalsGraduates that form part of the Young Professional Program undergo a rigorous selection process before embarking on the three-month full-time training program where they are equipped with SAP and soft skills needed to succeed in the modern workplace. This makes every graduate of the program immediately employable in a range of public and private sector companies. Through SAP’s close partnership with its customers and industry partners, over 99% of all program graduates secure work placement upon graduation. One of the graduates from the inaugural program in 2018, who is now employed at WYZE Consulting as SAP Presales and Delivery Consultant, Adedoyin Akande, said: “Definitely, the Young Professional Program was the major start of my career and the training equipped me with so much competence to help me kickstart my career.”This cohort of the SAP Young Professional Program in Nigeria is part of a recently announced collaboration between SAP and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with the aim to jointly create 450 jobs for highly qualified personnel in the IT sector in ten African countries over the course of three years. The cooperation project is part of the special initiative „Training and Job Creation“ and the develoPPP for jobs program that the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).The new academic partnership promises work-ready innovatorsThe SAP Young Professional Program is one of two programs under the umbrella of SAP Skills for Africa; the other being the SAP Dual Study Program, designed to provide university students with training and certifications linked to SAP’s latest innovations that align to the company’s Intelligent Enterprise model.

Building on its previous efforts on digital skills build and youth enablement in Nigeria and beyond, SAP recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Covenant University in Nigeria for the Dual Study Program, extending the program’s reach to 24 universities across 13 countries globally. Marita Mitschein, Senior Vice President of Digital Skills Southern Europe, Middle East & Africa at SAP and Managing Director of the SAP Training and Development Institute, said:

“In partnership with leading universities, the 6-12 months program combines university theoretical studies with the opportunity for students to take SAP certification during academic years under the collaborative curriculum. This helps bridge the gap between university and workplace by giving students a competitive edge. With a pervasive digital skills shortage affecting the growth and innovation potential of even the most successful global organizations, both the SAP Young Professional Program, as well as the SAP Dual Study Program, provide organizations with ready-to-employ tech talent with scarce digital skills on market-leading SAP technologies.”Dr. Ada, Assistant Professor, and Director International Officer and Linkages at Covenant University, said:“The Dual Study Program is a great opportunity for our students to build the right skillset required by the labor market before they graduate, which allows them to kickstart their career immediately after graduation. By joining hands with the market leader in enterprise application software we can empower our young people who will shape the future of our country and our continent.”

Phones / Here Is How You Can Save & Earn Money On Whatsapp/Facebook Messenger by MissTechy(f): 12:42pm On Oct 01, 2019
When it comes to putting money away every month, as you all know, brethren, the struggle is real!!! But what if there was a way to save money automatically in such small amounts that you would hardly notice?

Personally, I’ve experimented with a number of different methods to help me stay on a diligent savings path. Have I been successful? Well, let’s just say, we fall to rise again. Luckily though, Technology has caught up to our financial needs, and BackUpCash is at the forefront of this!

CAN’T SAVE TO SAVE YOURSELF? MEET BACKUPCASH

BackupCash is an AI-powered Facebook and Whatsapp chatbot (otherwise known as Cassandra) that allows you to start saving money automatically without any effort, fees, or changes in spending.

As stated, it does this effectively using Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp. It’s also emoji-friendly and uses humor and a friendly tone to chat with you which is very welcome in terms of money management! How Does it Work?

To register on Whatsapp, just click on this http:///click2cassandra or you can use this https://www.facebook.com/BackUpCash/ to register on Facebook messenger.

Upon clicking, you can send Cassandra a message and you will be asked to register and provide important information like your name, phone number, email address and other biodata you will need to get started. After registration, you can easily send Cassandra a message and ask a question, save towards a goal or request for your account balance.

Is this Safe really safe?

Understandably, a service like this can be a concern when your bank details are involved; but not to worry - BackupCash is a read-only service so no one can ever move money in or out of your account. No data is stored on their servers and the transaction information is encrypted. There is also the fact that this is secured by Paystack and backed by SFS Capital.

What is the minimum you can save/earn on BackupCash?
One of the cool things about Backupcash is the fact that you can save as little as N500 and also earn up to 13% interest on your savings. Talk about savings with benefits.

After all, is saved and done I like the fact that Backupcash makes banking relevant to the current generation, and that for me is its biggest draw-in, but over to you - what do you think about BackupCash?

Phones / Get Loan On Your Smartphone Using Gtbank's Quickcredit Platform by MissTechy(f): 12:29pm On Sep 26, 2019
It’s no news that the banking sector is currently undergoing digital disruption, I remember how perfectly normal it was to queue in banks and correspond with your bank by post. But everything is rapidly changing, and one bank that has been at the forefront of this change is GTBank.

MEET QUICKCREDIT

One of the ways they are changing the game is through QuickCredit — so, if you are a salary earner, and want to borrow money upfront without visiting the bank or the need for a collateral or guarantor, GTBank has a special USSD code — *737*51*51# that lets you obtain loans instantly thereby enabling you to meet your financial needs. The best part about QuickCredit is the fact that you can get a maximum loan amount of N5million at an interest rate of 1.75% per month and up to 6-12 months payback period.

During this period, GTBank will deduct the QuickCredit loan payment along with the interest rate from your salary account monthly.

Using this is also straightforward! Just dial the code on your phone — *737*51*51#

You will immediately get a message that shows if you are qualified to obtain the loan and the amount that you are qualified for ( Remember that this is only accessible to customers who have a salary account with GTBank and earn more than N10,000 monthly). Once you are qualified, set the amount you want to borrow then follow the other prompts and you will immediately be credited with the requested amount.

As earlier stated, QuickCredit has up to 6-12-month payback period, but you can liquidate it anytime by dialing *737*51*55#. Once again, this process will happen within a second.

So, anyone here used QuickCredit? What are your thoughts?
