Phones / Re: Freetel Ice 2 Written Review: Meet the N13,000 Smartphone Google Promised Us by MissTechy(f): 9:49am On Oct 03, 2017 |
As far as the accessories are concerned, you only have your MicroUSB cable and Power Adapter. Powering on the device takes about 28 seconds— it overtook the Infinix Zero 4 Plus to claim the third spot. (Images on MissTechy .com) BUILD The Ice 2 has an all plastic build and the back cover is removable, same as the battery. Therein lies the dual SIM card slot and a slot to put your MicroSD card. And trust me, you are going to need to need one because the Ice 2 has 8GB of Internal storage on paper and only 4.38GB available to use. The Ice 2 is also light, coming in at 117g. DISPLAY As for the display, this is 4-inches, with a screen resolution of 480 x 800. As expected the colors are nowhere near great— they even appear washed out— but it gets the job done. Sunlight visibility is okay provided you increase the brightness slider to the maximum. SOFTWARE AND PERFORMANCE The Freetel Ice 2 comes with an Android 7.0 out of the box, and thanks to the partnership with Google, you get a stock Android experience. However, it does come with a couple of bloatware — like TD Africa, MyMtn, and MTN Music— all of which can be uninstalled. Performance-wise, you get 1GB of ram and a processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz. As expected, the experience while using the device isn’t fast or smooth. But it does the basic stuff like browsing the web, checking WhatsApp, and even playing a game or two (This would only work if you play one game at a time i.e. No other app must be in the app drawer when playing). CAMERA The Ice 2 comes with a 2MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 front-facing camera. So, if you were expecting “on-fleek” photos, you need this: Of course, I took some pictures using the back camera. As for the front camera, all I can say is this, do not use the front camera without enough light (Preferably daylight) so as to avoid your photos looking like this: Another indoor shot with good lights: BATTERY The 1900mAh battery on the Ice 2 won’t last you up to 2 days of light use, but it can be used all through the day before charging. Speaking of charging, it took about 2hours 50 minutes to charge the Ice 2 from 1% to 100%. AUDIO: You won’t get amazing sound from the speaker which has been placed at the back of the device. But you have the earphone jack. BENCHMARK: For those who are interested in benchmarks, it will interest you to note that the Ice 2 is better than the Hot 3 in this regard: Surprised? SENSORS You only get the accelerometer and proximity sensors — nothing else. CONCLUSION: This Ice 2 doesn’t have the best qualities, or the best display, or the best anything for that matter, but it does the basic stuff and for a N13,000, it is not a bad bargain. As always, let me know what you think? Psst: Just to look for a bit of trouble, would you like if I gave this away or the Hot 5? Also, what do you think of Thorpe — one of my quadruplets— in the video? 2 Likes |

Remember the Ice 2? Well, I got a unit of the device some days back and my weekend was spent reviewing the device. In the video, I did mention that there is currently no device with the specification sported on the Ice 2 and at that price point (If there is, let me know in the comment box), as a result of the price tag, you won’t get any bell or whistle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsudje0iNLk By the way, this phone is manufactured by Plus One Japan Limited under the brand name Freetel. cc @lalasticlala 3 Likes

The Infinix Hot 5 is the latest device in the Infinix Hot series, but like many of you know, there aren't any major specs bump between the Infinix Hot 5 and the Infinix Hot 4, as a matter of fact, the only upgrade to the Infinix Hot 5 is with the dual speakers that is powered by the 3D Dirac Stereo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myYqFFqvTZg Now, here is a fun fact, the Infinix Hot 5 is actually cheaper than the Hot 4, the Hot 5 is priced at N37,500 on Jumia, about $107 whereas the Hot 4 is still selling at N39,000 ($111), so, is this good enough to sway you? Phones / Battle Of The 3gb Ram: Infinix Note 4 Pro Vs Hot S2 Pro Vs A1 Lite + Camera Test by MissTechy(f): 10:16am On Aug 29, 2017 |
I spent the better part of the weekend and Monday reviewing the Note 4 Pro hence the reason I've been MIA (I really need a female writer). But the Note 4 Pro was worth the stress. Here is my video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnF7HLZgA1Q&t=92s And a text review, although the video reviews covers a lot more. Here's what you'd find in the box: The 5.7-inch Note 4 pro Power adapter. Earphones. MicroUSB cable. The famous X-Pen (This is sold at N4,000 should you want to replace yours). Then, This beautiful leather case. A film case. Pin Ejector and manuals. Moving to the similarities and differences, the first has to do with the build, it's still the same size as the Note 4, but the Note 4 Pro looks premium thanks to the metal unibody design as opposed to the removable plastic back on the Note 4. Since the back is not removable, the dual SIM card slot has been placed on the left side of the device. Beneath that is the charge connector pins for the X-pen. On the other side, there is the MicroSD card slot, volume rocker, and power button. Everything looks the same in front and yes! I am talking about the bezels, they are still there on the Note 4 pro, but one difference is the fact that the camera sensor has been moved to the left. The ports on top and beneath still remain the same. As for the specs, this is slightly similar to the Note 4. But there are noticeable changes, one of which is the storage, you get 32GB of RAM on paper but you only have about 23GB available. On the weight side of things, the Note 4 is slightly lighter than the Note 4 Pro, the Note 4 comes in at 208g A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS Meet the X-Pen: Now asides from being able to draw with this, you can also use the X-Pen to do almost everything on the Note 4 Pro. There is also a feature called Air command that allows you to activate a couple of functions on your smartphone by pressing the button on the X-Pen. Some of the functions include the ability to take screenshots of any shape using the X-Pen And my favorite is Screen Write: To name a few. The X-Pen needs to be charged, though, and Infinix is promising that you can charge the X-Pen in 20 seconds and use it for 30 minutes, a statement that is quite true. Which brings me to my dislikes! The smart case is needed to charge the X-Pen, so, if you are not a fan of smart cases you won't like this one. But did I mention how gorgeous this smart case looks? My only complaint is that the smart case makes the phone look large, this is understandable because of the X-Pen slot. I also noticed that Infinix will send constant notifications when your X-Pen's battery is low, but this can be turned off in the settings. DISPLAY Nothing has changed here, you still get the same 5.7FHD display that offers vibrant colors, sunlight visibility is also similar to the Note 4, and the same can be said of the OS and the fingerprint sensor. CAMERA As for the cameras, the specs also stay the same with the Note 4 and I was able to capture a couple of macro shots using the rear camera.More picture samples in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnF7HLZgA1Q&t=26s However, I still don't like the fact that the Note 4 Pro, just like the Note 4 doesn't do so well in low light conditions. Video quality is also okay, here is a screenshot from the video recording in the video above. As for performance, this is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek processor paired with 3GB of RAM, with that you get a smooth multitasking experience and the frame drops noticed during gameplay were not bad. BENCHMARK I compared the Note 4 Pro with the Hot S2 Pro and the Gionee A1 Lite, Check it out. The first image is the Note 4 Pro, second is the A1 Lite and the Hot S2 Pro: So, what happens when the Gionee A1 Lite, the Note 4 Pro, and the Hot S2 Pro go head to head, find out in the video: As for the overall battery life, this is also good, you could get up to 2 days of battery life on moderate use. And even when your battery dies, the Note 4 pro comes with x-charge that would allow you to charge the Note 4 Pro from 1% to 100% in 1 Hour 56 minutes. HOW HOT DOES THIS GET? Slightly above warm, you'd definitely notice the temperature change when playing highly intensive games or charging which is largely due to the metal build. Finally the AUDIO! Why not be the judge by listening to it right now, P.S. The audio test between the Note 4 Pro, the Hot S2 Pro and the Note 4 starts at 8:17minutes. Whew! There you have it guys, what do you think? Phones / My Nokia 5 Unboxing:Would You Choose A Tecno Or Infinix Device Over This? (text) by MissTechy(f): 1:45pm On Aug 10, 2017 |
As seen on MissTechy dot com: So the guys at Nokia sent me the Nokia 5 to review and as usual here is a video review for those who like to see my face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu-iL0XVUy4&t=5s But for those who don't , not to worry, I got your back. Say hello to the Nokia 5's package! When it comes to the accessories, there is nothing special going on, you have the Power adapter, the USB 2.0 cable, a pin Ejector and the manuals: ALL HAIL THE 720P DEVICE: The Nokia 5 is a 5.2-inch device with top and bottom bezels. It comes with an IPS display, however, you are getting the HD experience instead of Full-HD, which might be a letdown, but like I said in the video, the display is colorful As for the buttons and placements, you have a separate tray for your Dual SIM card which supports 4G/LTE. There is also another tray for the MicroSD card slot which is expandable to 256GB. On the right side of the device, you have the volume rocker and power button and I love the fact that Nokia paid close attention to details in this regard (I am talking about the silver tapings that further adds to the sleekness of the device). In front, you have the 8MP front camera and it comes with a wide angled lens and an autofocus feature which is cool considering the price tag.autofocus feature which is cool considering the price tag.Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a notification sensor. But other sensors have been included (More on this in my full review). Naturally, you have the 13MP rear camera at the back of the device, as well as the dual-LED flash. On top seats the 3.5mm earphone jack. And beneath? You have a USB 2.0 port, the dual speaker grills, and a mic. Did I mention that this comes with a unibody body design and an aluminum finish? Also, the device doesn't come with a removable back or battery — the battery is 3000mAh by the way. On the weight side of things, this weighs about 158g and trust me when I say that it feels really good to hold. So, is this device worth the price tag of N65,000 considering these specs? I can't say for now given that it hasn't been put through a lot of tests, but watch this space for my full review. So, over to you, do you like what you see? Plus, would you choose a Tecno device (The Camon CX, for example) or an Infinix device over this? 15 Likes 3 Shares

Jfrankination: Okay I'll try. The first thing you need to do is to trim the video file into 2 scenes — that is if you have two scenes. Then you need to open the KineMaster app and select media browser, after which you'd select the first scene. Next thing you want to do is to tap on the layer button and select media, thereafter you'd choose the second scene. Once this is completed, the rest is easy The reason why this app is gold is that it allows you to add layers to your timeline, something that is only achievable in applications like Adobe Premiere, After effect and Final Cut Pro. 2 Likes |

[img][/img] I think the highest number of requests I have gotten is a tutorial on how I clone myself AKA how I am able to have a twin in the videos I make and even though I use Final cut pro to edit, there are times when I have no choice but to edit the videos (especially the twin video) using my smartphone. So, despite my busy week, I had to do this for you guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCrj4Kbqo8c&t=220s To achieve this I used an app called Kinemaster, Kinemaster is available on both Android and iOS and then got the twin effect by using the app's split screen feature. As always, let me know your thoughts. By the way, Dorcasy (My other twin) is never appearing in my videos after that awful dance. 71 Likes 15 Shares
