There are only 5 men on Nairaland . . . Any one of these, I could have a significant relationship with. You can keep the remaining psychopathic tykes. ![]() |
maclatunji:I have no idea who the person is, even though I think the person sounds like Idowogbo. But, my message is for whoever it is. |
This could be of help to you - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-692144.0.html |
Great loss. . .Sad indeed. |
Well you haven't proven me wrong have you, I recognise the insult to my upbringing and 'upbringers' how ladylike. Truth is in real life I could be the most courteous man (anybody who knows me in the flesh will tell you this). I know this might be a bit difficult to comprehend but, just because I don't agree with your rules doesn't make me less privileged (as we can infer that your parents and family did a wonderful job of telling you what to demand of 'real men'). Like I said missy 'when in Rome', don't make me rpeat myself.
Unless you want to get sentimental, I doubt it's difficult to notice that my statement is conditional. A harmless suggestion - If . . . / do . . . I did not insult you or anyone, I understand some truths hurt. But, if you, however, feel insulted, I offer a sincere apology. ![]()
Oh please get off your 15-storey horse. Who cares what my not-opening-doors tells strangers about me? The truth is missy that if noone opens any doors for ya in the next gazillion years nothing will happen. Today's independent woman should know better than to feel sore about unopened doors, damn! I need to get off this bloody matter already.
Like you, I wouldn't want to repeat myself . . . ![]()
Peach! I get like treatment often, not to mention the countless times I was not allowed to lift a seat because a civilized man insisted on helping me out - including black dudes. And I'm usually like - this one can't be a Nigerian . . .You can't be this gentlemanly and cute, and at the same time, be a Nigerian. Na winch? ![]() It's a shame that Naija men are making a mountain outta this very molehill. . . Even in public. Shame! ![]() Nigerian women are women and should be treated thusly. The excuse of 'it's not our culture' is plain phockery. . .Do not make it seem like whoever brought you up did a lousy job. Having said that, no one is dependent on you or asking you to do this stuff, it's simply what you ought to do. . . .Lack of it speaks volumes about your person.
|

Nairaland, O Nairaland! The ''Never take Nairaland too seriously'' is a very hypocritical advice after all. ![]() BTW, Beaf, you're very unserious! That habitual gif of yours is to die for. ![]()
Uhhh, isn't that what he just did?
Sorry to burst your bubble miss but we aint in England where the so called rules of etiquette might mean something. Where I grew up and where I live you must not try it. Men grow up learning their own culture not some borrowed nonsense. And btw going by that culture you're so enamored by ladies are supposed to have some quite confidence and speak ever so lady-likely but not so around these here parts. Moral of my story? when in Naija do as Naijans do. Damn.
Being a Nigerian is not reason enough to be discourteous. . . Very flimsy excuse. If you were not taught to be civil and gentle as a kid, you can learn now . . .It's never too late. ![]() |
otooro:I swear, I didn't even notice every month had a quote. ![]() |
It's the good old way or nothing. . . Missy is to be wooed, not the other way round. |
Any particular reason questioning mustn't or shouldn't be done here? |
What can you offer? |
I'll give some thought to it. . . ![]() |
tjskii:I actually did send it to the right address because I copy and paste . . . I just re-sent it, let me know if you get it. |
Males are supposed to learn certain things in their teen years - Open the door for ladies, hold the door for them, give them precedence, treat them right and be gentle with/to them. ![]() These days, we just have too many males that grew up without parental guidance, hence their misconduct. The few ones that were trained do these things, and I'm lucky to know and have met some. |

Everything natural and simple - Mud, sticks, fruits, and it's fun time. ![]() I saw the photo today on Facebook and it left me pensive. . .Times you can't just explain why you feel proud to be an African. 'Impressive' and 'creative' are perfect captions, but I'll say Familiar. ![]() |
Never been to my village, I doubt I miss anything. |

I used to have this colleague that does the same thing. . . .Kai, Nothing is as annoying as this. She doesn't ask about the price, but most of the time our conversation is about nothing but - ''Missy, Missy, where did you get this, where did you get that'' The only befitting reply that comes my mind at such times is ''Please gerrout'' with a resounding 'mtchew' to go with it. Thank God for courtesy. |
