fitzmayowa:Why would those Governors donate over N50million each in public when they know that they are owing up to 8months and even more than.... That means they're heartless |
And some sets of useless Governors donated over N1billion for GEJ God will judge them Akpabio, Jang, Imoke, Suswam, Others Donate N1billion While Owing Workers... - As representatives of 21 Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] governors mounted the rostrum Saturday night at the presidential villa in Abuja to announce N1.05 billion in donation to the PDP, back in their respective states, school teachers and other state workers were enduring their second or third month of work without pay. In some states, the indebtedness to workers stretched a year. In Ebonyi, authorities owed teachers under the Universal Basic Education scheme nearly 12 months of salaries. In Abia State, secondary school teachers were last paid in August, while primary school teachers have been owed since October. In Akwa Ibom State, the nation’s leading oil producer which draws more than triple of what other states receive from the federation account monthly, local government staff were on strike. Before the strike, they were forced to receive half salaries for several months, while authorities claimed they had no money. In Cross River, the situation had worsened after months of indebtedness that state-run television, the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC, shut off production last week. The station remains off air till date. Other staff fortunate to have received reasonably up-to-date pay, have yet to be paid for November. But on Saturday night, Cross State governor, Liyel Imoke, stood next to his Bauchi State colleague, Isa Yuguda, as Mr. Yuguda announced to a gleeful president and a shocked nation how the 21 governors who had been struggling to pay salaries long before the present oil crisis, rallied N50 million each in donation to the PDP. “We may do more in future, but that is what we were able to raise for now,” Mr. Yuguda assured. https://www.nairaland.com/2058646/akpabio-jang-imoke- suswam-others |
seankafor:You're right but Nigeria is our Country and I believe; -No soldier will be happy to fight for a nation whose dead troops are left in the battle field or are given mass burials and their family ejected without compensation. -No soldier will be happy to fight when he was given guns that would jam, cannons that would not fire, vests that are fake while fighting on an empty stomach without allowances. Nigerians expect rebellion from these soldiers, when they are bombed by the same jet fighters that they expected aerial cover from. #SMH \\What a Nation// |
johnbuck81:How do you ask a man to fight a war waged on behalf of an unfeeling class of saboteurs, who are benefiting from arms importation, currency trafficking, money laundering and all illegal shades of business in between How do you ask aman to fight with bare hands How do you ask a man to goto confront a brutal enemy unprepared How do you fight in a war that is rigged If Nigeria had a more professionalarmy, these mutinies would not easily happen. If Nigeria has an army of patriots that is unaffected by the debilitating influence of corruption from hiring, training and deployment, Boko Haram would have been defeated. If the ranks of army leadership where not populated by saboteurs, hoteliers, arm dealers and general contractors, the nation would have been spared these humiliations. If Nigeria had sustained the respected army of yore who recorded great exploits in the Congo and many other countries, the experience and pragmatics of war would have produced a more seasoned outlook. These incidents would not have risen to a court-martial. They would have been effectively dealt with in-house. But killing those soldiers is not the best option. |
IKJ66:I'm very sorry bro, it was an error I've tagged your name. Thanks |
tit:They only asked for weapons and they got death in return. These soldiers knew their place and understood the expectation that they maintain it, these soldiers know that in the military orders are orders, even if irrational, But these orders are not legal and morally right, that for sure we know . The orders they got were not battle effective, the army under which they fought is undisciplined, It is an unfair army where soldiers are deliberately sent to their deaths. It is an army whose leadership is populated by a few martinets, and the few are completely outnumbered by incompetents and plain rogues, We must not be deceived; the fog of this war is sabotage. The war on terror is the way it is because the military higher ups have financial interest in maintaining the status quo. Sometimes, disobedience is the only sensible thing to do. In this case, they walked away from death only to come face to face with it. You, as a Nigerian, should not support their death by firing squad, given the circumstances surrounding their rebellion. General Azubike Ihejirika, accused of backing Boko Haram, is walking free. Ali Modu Sheriff, who has repeatedly being named as knowing something about the Boko Haram insurgency, is Jonathan's presidential guide on terror issues. If they walk free, the soldiers must walk free! This death penalty is the worst form of state abuse. Enough is enough. |
If the PDP has so much confidence in its administration’s achievements, it should prove it by bringing out the campaign promises of 2011 and let us put a check mark to the ones its man has achieved. The party should tell us, in an unambiguous language, what happened to the 7-Point Agenda of Yar’Adua/Jonathan regime. It should explain why Boko Haram, a rag-tag army of religion-crazed maniacs that lack the intelligence to make the simplest battle formation, keeps defeating trained soldiers of the Nigerian Army. It should explain why soldiers consistently mutiny; why their wives have echoed the similar complaints as their husbands –that their failures on the battlefront is because that they are poorly equipped for war. It should tell us why, after all the monies spent on security and the extra $1bn it received, soldiers still complain they lack the weapons they need to confront Boko Haram. It should tell us why those soldiers should be sacrificed on the altar of their collective impotence and pot-bellied corruption. And truthfully tell us if the government is still searching for the Chibok girls. It should tell us about the fuel subsidy and why Nigerians are still paying that obnoxious money even as the price of oil is crashing on the world market. It should tell us what became of the various reports on corruption and why so much money has been reported “missing” in this government and no one has been held accountable. It should also tell us why kerosene sells for more than N150 per litre when government claims it is subsidising it to sell for N50/litre. CC: Ola6, Rossike, Truckpusher, |
Ah!!!!! Walahi I will support GMB till GEJ go geh sense Killing the soldiers is not the best option, there are several ways of dealing with them #GodBlessAmerica |
Head of the Nigeria National Office of West African Examinations Council,WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu has stated that making Mathematics a compulsory subject for students seeking admission in tertiary institutions is unfair, when the candidate’s course of study in the university has nothing to do with Mathematics. Eguridu who made this statement against the backdrop of the 29.37 per cent WASSCE candidates who obtained five credits and above in Mathematics and English Language said: “It will be unfair to judge or determine students’ performance in examination based on Mathematics and English Language.” Answering questions from journalists at WAEC corporate office, Yaba, Lagos after the release of results last Thursday Eguridu explained that as a student of Theatre Arts, you have no business learning quadratic equation. According to him; “Somebody who wants to read Yoruba in the university, and the institution is demanding for Mathematics is an issue because he does not need Mathematics to perform well in Yoruba. I do not think Mathematical ability is necessary for success in every endeavour of live.” In all his years, he reiterated that, he is yet to see where mathematical ability is necessary in all areas of endeavour. ‘’Those who play football and can score goals, or those who can sing very well, I am yet to see how passing Mathematics made them successful. For English Language, I agree because it is the means of communication, but for Maths, it should not compulsory for some studies,’’ he added. The HNO who took a swipe at those condemning WAEC for mass failure based on Mathematics and English Language said: ‘’This is a private candidate exam. Preharps a candidate registers for Biology, Maths and English, if he does not write Maths and English and you use the population of those who wrote Maths and English to ascertain the percentage of success, the statistics will be incorrect. “In a situation where a candidate registers for eight or nine subjects and you isolate two subjects to ascertain his overall performance, is unfair. The purpose of education is not to pass examination but to equip children for life.’’ Double registrations Eguridu further maintained; “Nigerians need to go back and read the national policy on education. It is not envisaged that every child who entered primary school will end up a university professor. We expect that after the first six years of primary school, then the first three, senior high school. After this stage the results will determine the route such student will take, either to technical education, college of education, school of nursing, polytechnic or university.’’ On the drop of candidates that registered for the examination, Eguridu heaps the reasons on effiency of WAEC. He provided that WAEC has made it impossible for candidates to have double registrations. In the past, he pointed out, people asked candidates to register them in one centre and go to another centre to re-register. He insisted that with the introduction of biometric features, if you try to register twice, it will not be possible. For those who criticized the walk in candidate initiative, Eguridu said: “Nigeria is not an island, it is a country that is advancing like other countries. In Singapore for example, people will write their exams when they are ready. A situation where a candidate needs a credit to advance in his studies and he has to wait for another one year cannot be justified. We have no apology for this, we have done it and we will do it again. “If a candidate wants to register on the day of examination, we register him and ensure that the registration properly done. We will capture biometric details, exam fees will be paid and the candidate will be allowed to write with those who registered before.” On the issue of wrong pictures of some candidates, Eguridu heaped the blame on school owners, explaining that WAEC’s registration portal has been designed in such a way that it works on information uploaded by schools into the server. That not withstanding, WAEC has to give them a second chance for the information to be uploaded correctly. However, from the next examination, he stated that WAEC’s upgraded systems will reject such flawed entries. In spite of this facilities, some school authority do not take time to cross check the information uploaded to our data based. His words: “If a school authority assignments a picture on wrong candidate, they should be held responsible. ‘’We have a situation where instead of uploading the candidate picture, they just put a flower pot. At times, one candidate’s picture will be dominant in the picture of some schools. Beginning from next examination, our upgraded system will reject such entries.’’ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/maths-ability-not-necessary-every-course-study-waec-boss/ |
