Ugosample:Most of them (especially those who have not been able to get loose from the shackles of religious sentiments) have these superiority complex or should I call it a mindset that they are the only ones practising the purest form of Islam. Being educated or lack of education has done little or nothing to cure these set of people from their backward mindset. I've equally met some of them that are open minded about life. An example is my Hausa friend that I referred to in my earlier posts. My fellow Hausa speaking, Christian B15 corps members in my ppa usually lament bitterly about the subtle and sometimes bold display of favouritism and sentimentality based on religion. You may be tempted to ask if I have ever been a victim of their superiority complex? The answer is No for now. Why no for now? Because there is an issue on ground concerning we Corp members in my ppa that has to do with welfare. There has been underhand moves by the key decision makers to make things work in favour of our fellow Hausa Corper. By the time the issue is brought to a logical conclusion, I will be able to say an emphatic YES or NO. |

zorroeta:Let me answer your question with these narrative which happened three weeks ago in my ppa: In this current Batch A16, three male corpers were posted to my ppa. One is a Northerner, the second a Yoruba Muslim while I am a Christian. We (my Yoruba Muslim fellow corps member and I) had a Hausa Muslim friend (emphasis on Hausa Muslim/Yoruba Muslim mine and deliberate) in that community. We were gisting one evening when my Corper guy asked him that why is it that the first question an Hausa babe usually asks her non-Hausa speaking 'toaster' is 'ARE YOU A MUSLIM?' (In case you are wondering how we got the 'LIVER' to 'toast' an Hausa babe in a 99.99% Muslim populated community, the answer is not too far fetched. We happen to be habitual night crawlers and we know beyond reasonable doubt that their girls are something else in the night). In response to our question, he drew our attention to several things. 1. He asked my Yoruba Muslim Corper guy if he hadn't been observing the reactions of the locals anytime he goes to THEIR mosque to pray. He said that some of the locals were always confused that why will a CHRISTIAN WORSHIP WITH THEM IN THE MOSQUE. That my Corper guy has been tagged MUSLIMIYAH which ACCORDING TO HIM means a CHRISTIAN WHO PRETENDS TO BE A MUSLIM. He continued by saying that A CORE MUSLIM HAUSA NORTHERNER DOES NOT HOLD IN HIGH REGARDS, ANY OTHER MUSLIM FROM ANY OTHER PART OF THE COUNTRY REGARDLESS OF YOUR RELIGIOUS/MORAL UPRIGHTNESS NOT TO TALK OF CHRISTIANS. 2. There was a girl my Corper guy asked our Hausa friend to speak to on his behalf. My Corper guy was getting along with the babe with the little Hausa he understood. The girl all of a sudden began to distance herself. In the course of our discussion, our Hausa guy now drew my Corper guy's attention to that incident. He said the girl confronted him that why will he JOIN HER TO A CHRISTIAN GUY. He said all his efforts to make her see that my Corper guy was a MUSLIM but just happened (UNFORTUNATELY... Lol) to come from the SOUTHWEST was in vain. I HOPE YOU CAN DO YOUR DEDUCTIONS. I REST MY CASE! N.B: I STAND TO GAIN NOTHING FROM BADMOUTHING ANY RELIGION, TRIBE OR SECTION OF THE COUNTRY. I SAY IT AS IT IS. NO SUGAR COATING, NO FALSE ALARMS. GRACIAS. cc: mrphysics |
horexy:With due respect to mrphysics, one can perceive a paid advert from afar. Op was talking as if one Corper gets one local security guard attached to him/her. My advice to those contemplating to choose Kano based on OP's recommendation is that they should have a 'expect the best, prepare for the worst mentality'. DON'T GET IT TWISTED: THE NORTH IN GENERAL AND KANO (AND BY EXTENSION, JIGAWA) IN PARTICULAR IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO SERVE. BUT ANYTHIIING CAN HAPPEN AT ANY FUCKKIING TIME. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. AS TIME GOES ON, I MAY DECIDE TO SHARE MY PERSONAL AND OR MY FELLOW CORPER'S EXPERIENCES AS A SOUTHERN NON-MUSLIM CORPER SERVING IN A 99.1% (CONFIRMED STATISTICS) MUSLIM POPULATED CORE-NORTHERN STATE. |
otitokoroleti:Leave mrphysics alone o. I dey serve for Jigawa presently. During my interaction with one Delta lady resident in Kano last week, She told me that those almajiri boys turn to Spartacus when crisis starts. She showed me her hand that those almajiri boys broke in 2004( I really can't remember) during the Miss World crisis. Why is mrphysics contradicting himself when he said you shouldn't bring your family over to settle down with you in Kano? I rest my case for now! |
Welcome back, Sir Davidflo. |

– Dr Junaid Mohammed has cast some aspersion on the Buhari-led government– Mohammed say there is great nepotism in the the APC-led administration– The ex-Joint House Leader of the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) sppoke on the ills in the Nigerian governmentA chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, and member of the Defence Committee in the second republic, Dr Junaid Mohammed has said that there is a group wielding power within President Buhari’s administration.President BuhariIn a recent interview with The Punch, Dr Mohammed reacted to talks abouta cabal hijacking the presidency, a charge the presidency has denied.Mohammed said:“Let me say straight away that whether one calls it a cabal or a mafia or some kind of cult or whatever, there is a group of people who are wielding power within the presidency under Buhari. Whatever you say it is; it is and a lot worse.First, the most influential person in the presidency today is one Mamman Daura whom as you know, is a nephew of the president. His father was Buhari’s elder brother. In addition, Mamman Daura was the one who single handedly brought up Abba Kyari, the current Chief of Staff to the President. In fact, Abba Kyari knows Mamman Daura more than he knows his own father. Next, the Personal Assistant to Buhari himself is the son of Mamman Daura, next is what they call SCOP, State Chief of Protocol, and is also a son-in-law to Mamman Daura because he is married to Mamman Daura’s daughter.READ ALSO:War against corruption takes new dimension as Buhari tells judiciary, others what to doNext, the Minister they unilaterally chose, against the interest of the party and against the wishes of Sokoto people, happens to be the daughter of the younger sister of Mamman Daura’s wife. Both of them are daughters of Sultan Dasuki, who was sacked by General Abacha. We have the Aide De Camp to Buhari himself, Colonel Abubakar. He is married to the granddaughter of one of Buhari’s elder sisters.Next we have the woman who represents Kaduna in the Federal Executive Council, she is a cousin to Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai.It is well known that el-Rufai is one ofthe closest governors to Muhammadu Buhari. Next, we have the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory. The Minister of the FCT is the man called Musa Bello, who used to be the Managing Director of the Northern Nigeria Development Corporation, which used to be the biggest holding company that belonged to all the northern states. His only qualification to be FCT minister is the fact that his father hasbeen Buhari’s friend over the years. Now, there is a young man called Sabiu Yusuf, nicknamed Tunde – probably because of late General Tunde Idiagbon. He is another PA to President Buhari. He is also a grandson of another sister of Buhari. This is enough to prove to you that this is shamelessly the worst form ofnepotism in the history of government in Nigeria. In fact, in the history of Africa, let me make bold to assert that I have never seen any level of nepotism that has equalled or surpassed this in my entire life – I am now in my 67th year.Another thing I also want you to know is that, Amina Zakari, who was and still a national commissioner in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representing the entire seven states in the North-West.It is being claimed that Buhari knows nothing about her appointment (before he became President), it is a lie. When President Goodluck Jonathan was re-organising the INECand he was bringing in Prof Attahiru Jega, he reached out to Buhari and asked Buhari to nominate somebody from the North-West so that that person would be a national commissioner.Of all the people in the North-West, Buhari decided to nominate his own niece, the daughter of his elder sister- Amina Zakari. She has been there; when Jega left, Buhari was determined to make her chairman, it was because of the massive backlash that he dropped the idea like hot potatoes. As we are talking today, that woman is a national commissioner which means she is one of the principal election umpires.READ ALSO:Dogara incurs APC’s wrath; read his new offenceThroughout my reading of history, political science and social sciences generally, I have never heard of any dictator or any tyrant under any system of government whether totalitarian or fascist, appointing his own niece to conduct elections in which he was either a party or going to be a party to; Buhari has done that. The immediate younger brother to Amina Zakari is currently the Ministerfor Water Resources representing Jigawa State in the same Buhari government. In addition, even though they are from Kazaure, Kazaure is contiguous to Daura. The eldest sister of both of them is now the Commissioner for Education in the All Progressives Congress government in Jigawa state. If this is not nepotism, then I don’t know what is nepotism and anybody who has the guts, the brutal arrogance to appoint these relations not bothering about public opinion, about the sense of justice, about competence, then you can see that he has a very serious question to answer. There are two mysterious cases.Dr Mohammed went on to speak on the mysterious cases saying:“The case of the Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emeifele and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu. It was Buhari himself who said that he knew when the governor of the CBN picked a piece of paper and gave an instruction that N14bn should be withdrawn from the CBN and that money was withdrawn. That was nearly a year ago and up tilltoday, Buhari is still retaining Emefiele as CBN governor. The Buhari I know is an economic illiterate and anybody who knows anything about currency movement and foreign exchange and fluctuations knows that the Naira hasbeen effectively devalued. It was the same Buhari who boasted that the Naira would never be devalued under him for as long as heremains President and even threatened the governor of the CBN that he was going to sack him if he devalued the Naira. He (CBN governor) is still there. In the case of Kachikwu, he is the mystery man in the cabinet. No one can actually tell you who nominated and brought in Kachikwu. We knew that he was friends with Abba Kyari when they both worked inMobil but none of them had the influence to bring him in and make him Minister of Petroleum Resources.Forget the nonsense about him being the junior minister because he is the senior and junior minister in addition to being the Managing Director of the NNPC (until recently when he was replaced. This again confirms the arrogance of President Buhari in putting two positions together; one purely civil service and technocratic position which is the Group Managing Director of the NNPC and the other one which is purely political- a minister. What is wrong with the President merging these portfolios in the light of the administration’s desire to cut the cost of running government…?Since this man became minister, there has been nothing good comingout of the oil industry rather than confusion, crisis and corruption. That again is an indication of the decadence we have in this government. People who are being accused and arrested for corruption as it should be, we are also aware that some of these cases that the DSS is getting involved in are shady because they have no experience whatsoever in prosecution. That is why from the famous case of Farouk Lawal, a former member of the House of Representatives who was involved in getting money and putting it under his cap and what have you which was captured on camera. They arrested that man; it was a clearcut case long before Buhari became President. Till today, the DSS has not been able to prosecute Farouk Lawan. He is still sitting at home; his house is about 200 metres from my house. That shows you that when you hear that the DSS is arresting somebody for corruption, it is clearly political and maybe there is money or corruption involved. We also know that there are people from within the DSS from the very topwho are even threatening that they will soon arrest the Chairman of the EFCC and the National Security Adviser.”The ex-Joint House Leader of the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) said:“The |

FORMER Senior Special Assistant to the ex- president Goodluck Jonathanon public affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, Sunday explained why was paid various sums of money from the office of the National Security Adviser(NSA)Okupe also took a swipe at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for leaking to the media his health status which he had revealed to the commission’soperative in confidence designed for it to understandhis special needs.According to him, for not getting clearance or authorization from him before the information was revealed to the media, was not only a breach of confidence reposed on the anti- graft agency, but designed to embarrass him as a person.Doyin OkupeIn a statement he signed yesterday and made available to Journalists, Okupe explained how he got various sums of money fromthe office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) which has now become the subject of investigation by the EFCC.Denying being linked to any unwholesome benefits from the NSA, he said it became imperative toexplain based on media reports that he was involved in N162million and N85million fraud, adding that in his interactions so far with the anti-graft agency, he had only been requested to make clarifications in three areas.Okupe who lambasted the EFCC said, “I confided in the officers of thecommission about my health situation for them to understand whywhere and how I sleep was important to my overall well being.“Without clearance or authorization by me this information was revealed to the media.“I woke up to hear it on radio broadcast nationwide and was published in many newspapers. Thisis a sad development and a definite breach of the confidence I reposed on the commission as an institution of government.“I was born with sinus bradycadia, a non disease based slowness of the heart. It precluded me from vigorousexercise from childhood but I have by God’s Grace been able to live a normal and active life.“With age the slowness grew worse and life threatening. I sought medical help and went through a procedure at the Arrhythmia cardiac Research center in Atlanta, where this defect was corrected. Its just a year ago and I am still under satellitemonitor from the USA.The statement said these include: “Why I received N50m from the office of the National Security Adviser at the onset of my appointment, and what I used the money for.“Why I was paid N10m monthly by the Office of the National Security Adviser.“Why I received another sum of N50m from the NSA in October 2014.“The initial N50m was approved by the President to be paid to me from His Security vote. N10m was to furnish my rented living apartment and another N10m for my office. Thebalance N30m was approved as takeoff grant for my office.“The N10m I received from the Office of the National Security Adviser monthly was to run my office, pay salaries of staff, includingoverheads, pay expenses for our numerous press conferences, pay for publications in newspapers, magazines, local and foreign, television programs, bulletins, and media consultants who assist and facilitate our work.“I had about 23 staff, 11 were graduates out of which 5 were Masters degrees holders. Details were submitted to EFCC.“The second N50m was approved again by Mr President when I reported to him that the monthly allowance has been cut from N10m to N5m and that I was no longer in a position to keep running a 1hr NTA network program called INSIGHT which was aired 9-10am everyFridayand some other days of the week.“We paid NTA about N1.2m monthly for airtime. Two presenters were paid N600,000 monthly. We paid for tapes and Editing per program.“Besides we also pay honorarium forguests either directly or inform of hotel bills for those outside Abuja, ortransportation.“This cost averagely N500,000 weekly or about N 2m monthly. All in all we spent about N4m monthly on the program.“Mr President promised to help with the expenses. About a few months later when we had incurred some debts, the NSA sent me a sum of N50m which was to cover the cost of the program for 12 months(12×N4m=N48m).”Okupe who wondered why payment made to his private company for handling a state government contract had been linked to his function as a presidential aide, said, “The Fact however is that my company Romix soilfix was one of the over 20 construction companies who were duly awarded contracts forrural roads some 5yrs ago by the Niger state govt.“Due to lack of funds, contractors were paid irregularly thus making thejob to drag on for long. The job is still on going. The relationship of thisto my service as Senior Special assistant to President is still not clear.”“This is what I revealed to the EFCC and they made it a public issue.“I have been in public service in more than 20years. Because of my pedigree, I have by deliberate policy avoided anything that will bring shame to me and my family.“In spite of my high level involvement in politics and government, I have never done directly or indirectly any federal government contracts. In the whole of this world, I have only two houses. One in Lagos and another in my home town. I have no house elsewhere including Abuja.“It is a pity that the situation in the country is so bad that everybody believes that there are no men with honour in politics or government. It is not true. I have submitted all my personal and company accounts to the EFCC. I have nothing to hide.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/07/okupe-explains-nsa-paid/ cc lalasticlala |
A top official in the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation has disclosed that the football house are set to appoint Paul Le Guen as the coach of the Super Eagles. This came after Belgian coach, Tom Saintfiet, who was among the three shortlisted coaches for the Super Eagles managerial job, ruled himself out of the race to accept the Bandaglesh job, thereby leaving Le Guen and Salisu Yusuf for the position. However, the NFF insistence to hire a manager worthy of qualifying the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, now puts Le Guen in pole position to fill the gap left behind by Samson Siasia. According to the reliable source in the Glass House, he says the NFF are almost certain of appointing the French coach for the senior national team.“The appointment of a coach for the Super Eagles is almost coming to an end. We have been working ceaselessly to ensure that Nigeria gets the best coach,” the top official revealed.“All things being equal, Paul Le Guen seems to have impressed us and I won’t be surprised if he’s appointed Super Eagles coach in the coming weeks.”he said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/07/le-guen-set-named-super-eagles-coach/ |
