They say the first part to psychological healing, is "acknowledgement". I'm prepared to come out of my shell, and say what I actually feel about my father, so that I can be healed. I take back the part were I said he was 'insignificant', but to be honest with myself I hated him. It was as if I was leaving my life to please my old man. It is because of him I'm un able to control my temper, to God, if I had been given the opportunity to choose who I wanted as my pop, omo, my father would not be in the top 50. I was/ still am a good son to my mother, very obedient, infact to a fault, that kind of child who doesn't not give his parents or teachers trouble. Even at this age that I'm matured, I sometimes daydream I had, had a more close relationship with my father. Alas, it's just a daydream, an illusion that would never come to pass. It's all my father's fault.

When my father died, I was heartbroken, wept for over 1 year, I had wished that I loved him......but NO....I could not fake love, I didn't love, I hated him, and so I wept and wept as a teenager, everyday, even now I'm all grown up, I still wept. I could not even look at my fathers corpse, not because I was afraid, I did not just love him. Chai.....do you know how painful that is Words cannot even describe it. Maybe he was been a typical nigerian father who cannot express emotion, Eh, I'd never know. My mother has always been there, the good times and the bad, when it was time to flog she was ruthless, whn it's time to love she was simply perfection. In sickness and in health she has been there/ would always be there. I cannot say the same for the other parent. May his soul R.I.P

God bless her, she was always around nurturing and disciplining sometimes even to a fault. I was a difficult child and would have gone haywire but my mum never waiver in her determination to see me tow the straight line. It was cat and dog love then but now I love her so much especially now that I am old enough to understand/appreciate all her efforts.

Dad was only there to intervene when the discipline was too much or to support Mum when the issue was serious and I needed to be given heavy beaten by the two parents

Henry120: My mum, the luv of my life, my mother the rock of girbralta, she cared for me, pampered me and also beat me, she had/ still has so many pet names she calls me. When I succeed or fail in school my mother was always there for me. Now that I'm through with school and have a job of my own, she still sends me pocket money( of course I'd accept).
