mimini: How is someone who is outside the country defend his project? I thought that since its a distance learning things can be done without the person being present. Can a Masters student write exams and defend his project from abroad? NOUN is fast becoming a conventional school, the demand is growing. Students are now appearing physically in their study center for one form of issue or the other rather than handling them online. Also, with Nigeria educational mentality, people just want them to be seeing moving up and down with books and all that, to prove to people they are schooling and University at that. NOUN is taking advantage of all these too, to go the direction of the students |

Blessedarethepe: It shouldn't even be an open University that will be having petty issue like this. Where everything is believed to be digital Don't mind them. In Nigeria,if you heard certain government institution is working, just give it some time. Once they begin to employ people based on whom-you-know and not competency, shame is about to befall such an institution/parastatal |

Enskynelson: The Management in 2023 released a memo on students maintaining the name on the admission letter and they said they won't be entertaining correction of name especially those that want another name inserted during their graduation. I will suggest since you are yet to start, if possible, go to support.nou.edu.ng and send a ticket. I am not sure your matriculation number will be active there yet but just try and see. Send a ticket to Academic Registry for a change of name and attach a sworn affidavit as well as other documents like National ID to it and await their response. See the attached. You are best bro. Thanks very much |

Enskynelson: Some of the services are on hold until the semester resumes proper in January. It has been like this for sometime. Just try again by January when the Semester begins fully. Thank you boss, please one more thing sir. I need your candid advise on this. I applied last semester for thesame PG and got my matric number, but I didn't do any registration. My reason for reapplying now is because I abbreviated one of my names but not surname. The man in charge of the verification frown at it, but told me I should continue but I will have to correct the names by writing them in full when I am about to graduate. That's is the reason why I wanted to reapply since I have not funded my wallet at all with the previous account. My question is,do you still advise I should reapply or just go by my already verified account? Thanks for your anticipated response |

Enskynelson: There is no study Centre in the Head Office, except you just want to send someone to go there for you. But what I think is that, some of those services have closed for the year and hence no response. I have sent an SMS on that line for a student before and I got a response. Truly,I guess they have suspended their activities for the year. They seem to be upgrading some of their activities |
