K9blunt: Very touching. Hmn here's mine. I was born and raised a christian, am not much of an academic person, I hated reading textbooks and doing homework was easy enough reasons for the teachers to practise pain inflicting tactics on my young skin *chuckles*. There were times when I see some mischievious people hiding in the dark I was quick to say it was the devil trying to get in and destroy the family I love and knew yadayada. I grew to love God for no reason order than I should just love him. I grew up that way, even making sure I don't give any minute to any talks against God cause I that as an afront on the so-called almighty, I even had dreams of seeing angels and seeing mary (as per catholism) in my dreams praying for me.
The beginning of reality started when my mom became really sick, I prayed and prayed and prayed, I even tried other ways of praying like; thanking god for doing the miracle of yet to see, acting as if am talking to a father close to me and thenn crying blood (that's exagerrating I know) but no help came. Its just through advise, studies and then financial help from here and there, then just plain family bond that made it bearable for the illness to be managed and then mind you we are not financially bouyant.
Then I asked for a sign, it came alright in many ways than one, my sibling had been praying, working and even fasting to God for help out of the country, I later joined, then promises came of us getting our wish but NO! It never came. Even when it seemed something good was coming up, it felt like 1 step forward, thousand steps southwards.
Then what broke the camels back was when I sat back, saw the chaos happening around me, earthquakes, 9/11, tsunami, animal cruelty, perversion, rape, injustice, E,T,C. Then opened my bible (then) read it, prayed to understand, instead I got more anoyyed, more confused as I wanted to believe God is all merciful, asked questions from people I respected and got more and more inquinsitive. Then I just decided that if there's a God at all, all these won't be happening = atheist!
Am telling you all these (am so eshausted) because its not based on anger became an atheist, its because its just what it is to me. If your God exist, he doesn't need me opening my heart or giving me in form of vision ( as most people prefer) he should just show himself, answer these questions in my head, without killing me or making me blind (as he's known to do). In short he should open my heart (not literally o) and prove himself. Maybe just maybe I would believe and then forgive his creating hell if I refuse to believe.
Phew! Did I just type all that..... Hmmmmm...like the Bible says; our ways are not his ways. remember it also says that his grace is sufficient on us... people say; if men were God..remember the signs of the end time is visible to our eyes... no repentance in the grave! |

K9blunt: Go ahead. tnx... I'm an academician, I study nature So well, am a science student, I carry out a lot of experimental research as well as geographical... I'm a mechanical engineer, I believe in evidences to prove my point.. always top in class, always maintained honours list for 6yrs in my sec school (75% to 100% aggregate per term)...I love geography... then, I could recite the whole world and its capital, geo political zones, continental location, race and what have you... o was so broad, drawing world map was my favourite... you don't flog me in school because I was so influential.... I think science all the time, conducted research on the equator, did so many things... I came to the conclusion that there's no God! but one day, I was sleeping, I was moved to ask for forgiveness, I was facing the sky I'm the night in that dream... I looked at the moon.... I saw something falling up there into my body... instantly I felt it on the real life... I had heart disorder then.. my bed was wet with tears before I woke up.. I was afraid... I felt no pains in my chest anymore... I checked the time, it was 4:50am im the morning.... my phone rang immediately...I dashed to my phone, I saw a message sent to me by a casual friend this was the message: B-I-B-L-E - means Basic instruction before leaving earth! Do you know that when you carry the Bible, Satan has a headache? Do you know that when you open it he collapse? when he sees you reading it, he looses his strength? AND when you stand on the word of God Satan can't hurt you? Do you know that when you're about to forward this message to others, the devil will discourage you? please!!! forward this....... JESUS loves YOU! as soon as I saw this message that early hour, I knew it was God speaking to me face to face at that quiet hour... he's everywhere my dear.... just try and give him a try..... am not trying to convince you but I believe the Holy spirit will... |

[quote author=detosho post=36269536]Wow!, it is obvious how highly educated you must be, if you cannot discern an article written neither as a sword or a shield from those of tribalistic intents. Non of us got our Ethnicity and Country by choice, how we proceed however is by choice. If we choose to let ethnic misunderstandings cripple us all, we are to suffer the consequences. And I'll give everyone an imaginary analysis of what our cultural misunderstandings can achieve later. By the way, I'm restating my Statement about Yorubas and trust emphatically and without fidgeting. We have faced betrayal by both Easterners and Northerners more than we can continue to count and holding us for the sins of a Man everyone else also betrayed is hypocritical, and through it all, we have learnt to let it go, everyone else should try that too, forgiveness may not be forgetfulness, but its healthier.[/qu
pls state one betrayal you know. back it up with facts.. don't come here to give a generalised statements that will make people think you're tribalistic |
Politics › Re: 10 Things Igbos Need To Understand About Yorubas.. by mkbessman(m): 8:04pm On Jul 25, 2015 |
detosho: YOU HAVE TO READ ALL TO UNDERSTAND IN FULL... OK guys, lemme explain somethings to you. 1) Hausa people had tried an invasion of the SW before, it didn't end well for them, we may not be violent, but we are skilled at self defence. Its not just you guys against them. 2) Every Yoruba is bred with knowledge of the perpetual enmity with Hausa's, infact an average Yoruba thinks of them as idiots (ask why they are called Abokis in SW) 3) Every Yoruba knows that Igbos are less of enemies and more of competitors to us. But every Yoruba also thinks of Igbos as prone to being dubious and disloyal, especially when they are set to benefit from it. 4) Due to the aforementioned, Yorubas prefer sometimes to deal with Hausas (whose state of enmity with them is sure), than with Igbos, who may be their friends but who may betray their trust, something Yoruba people value a lot, and know at least they cannot give to Hausas. 5) Be sure that like Igbos, Yoruba people also have a cause for feud with Hausas, one dat even goes beyond the creation of Nigeria, the place called Ilorin. No true Yoruba does not know of the story of Ilorin, Aare Afonja and Alimi. 6) Yoruba people are generally the most welcoming in this country, you may dispute it, but I've been to most other regions in this country, save NE. Thus we welcome Hausas as much as we welcome Igbos, Idomas, Efiks, Igalas, Tivs, etc. You are all welcomed in our Lands ( we don't like that no mans land talk). 7) Due to Pre-colonial trading, a lot of lingual similarities have occured between Hausas and Yorubas, thus in modern life, it may tell why Yorubas seem to understand Hausas and their Language/Culture faster and better than Igbos and their language/Culture. Its not for animosity.
This is subject to dispute, but an average Yoruba person, like Artisans and Traders and co, is highly interested in politics and governance, but doesn't really give a damn about either the Unity or Seperation of Nigeria, although when asked most would reply that "we are better off on our own". 9) The above Stated reason is why not too many Yoruba people go out of the SW for residence and those that do so are considered doing it at their own risk. 10) Yorubas are benefiting the most from the fracas between Hausas and Igbos, as they are able to make both bring their resources meant for other parts of the country to the SW, due to their non-partisan accommodation. Why do u think SW is the least poor region in the country, and having the highest per capita standard of living (fact from Nigerian Bureau of Statistics) guy! you're not educated.... a tribalist in this era? you just disgraced yourself..... look at you talking of trust.... Yoruba you say? pls go and sleep |

Its even more safe investing abroad than home, because there are mechanisms that prevent against shady deals, no omo nile wahala or on going court case. I personally know of someone who is a very big oga in Total Oil, the property he bought in Maryland Lagos, is in court and he was evicted. So whats my point? Sacluxpaint: This is a time to cash in on American real estate as houses are now affordable, this was as a result of the financial meltdown that happened over 5 years ago, but now experts say the value of those foreclosed properties are creeping upwards. The ROI on the properties are incredible and a great asset to have. After acquisition, your C of O will be sent to you and if in doubt , you can check your local county online. You can also earn your rent at home in Nigeria. So its a sit back and relax process. We currently sell homes in Florida,Georgia, Illinois Chicago, Texas, Alabama and basically anywhere in the United States(New York and California on special requests) price ranges from less than $40000(8million) to above $500,000(100million).(You can pay in Naira Equivalent). Mortgage plans also available.Ping me on 29C3A10B or call +2348127465565 good if true! |

Be you Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, Igala, Benin, Urhobo or wherever you may come from, I know you might not like Buhari Muhammed as your president either because he is Fulani, a Muslim or whatever personal reason that might have been brainwashed into your head, I will want you to realize one simple fact that YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO GAIN IF BUHARI'S GOVERNMENT SUCCEEDS AND EVERYTHING TO LOSE IF HE DOESN'T.
Praying for this government to fail across all board is like praying life becomes reasonable for you and your household. Why am I saying these things you may ask right? The reason is if dollar becomes N700 to $1 all these past and present government officials and politicians won't feel the itch. It is you and your household that will buy items at skyrocket prices.
This government needs to succeed in making electricity 24/7, good roads, hospital, low cost housing, security, employment for the youths and above all FIGHT CORRUPT POLITICIANS WHO ARE YOU BIGGEST ENEMIES.
Forget the likes of barcanista, temitemi, CR77 and the rest. They are all jobless and bitter individuals who use this forum to try to forget the sorrows in their lives. you speak sense! |
