BRIEF HISTORY AND CULTURE OF BABUR/ BURA PEOPLE.

of the present Royal dynasty of Biu is Yamta -ra wala or
Yamta the great. Local tradition asserts that Yamta was the
son of a Mandara woman who already carrying him in her
womb at the time she was taken into the Mai of Borno’s
household. Yamta was brought up as a Kanuri. Yamta
established sizeable kingdom for himself in the area bounded
by the Gongola and the village of Kopchi, with his first
capital at a place called Limbur between Chikorkur and
Mandaragrau. Yamta’s grave is still identified at Limbur.
The Babur people are mostly, the inhabitants of Biu and its
Immediate environment while the Bura people are the rural
inhabitants of the Babur Bura land . The Babur Bura
language is linguistically classified as Afro-Asiatic, Chadic
and Biu-Mandara. The Bura language has great affinity and
similarity with Chibok, Marghi, Higgi , Kilba and Bazza.
The Babur Bura people are found in large numbers in
Borno, Adamawa, Gombe and Yobe States. THE BABUR/
BURA PEOPLE. The various names that the Babur Bura
people are
known with include; Babur, Bura, Babir, Pabir with

the crowd by virtue of his /her intonation, intelligence,
inclination and independence. Most Babur Bura people are
known by either their clan names (thimfwal or thim-
geli) ,individual names ,village or town names. The famous
Babur Bura clan names mostly associated with the Menfolk

and generally intelligent and industrious. Try the Babur Bura
person with music from yagandi, tsinza, gullum or ganga
and you will see what I am talking about. BABUR/ BURA
COMMUNITY; CHALLENGES AND CONCLUSION. The
average Babur Bura person is naturally independent,
intelligent and industrious. The challenge is we must unite,
help each other, promote our culture, tradition and language.
We must teach our language to our children. We must
support one another where ever we are and in whatever
position we are .We must raise our political, intellectual and
business consciousness for the sake of ourselves and
children. We give titles and Honours to whom is due. As a
matter of fact I suggest we begin to honour our people with
Bura home grown and indigenous titles and honours like
“Mdirsinsu” “Mdanapwa” “Mdi gigibu” ‘Mdi msira” ‘Mdi
wala” “Mdir jirkur’ “Mdir dthar mda” instead of or in
addition to Hausa titles like ‘Maiyaki” “Masani” “Maigari”
etc. The names of our traditional rulers should be traditional
like ‘Kuthir Biu” instead of Sarkin Biu” ‘Kuthir zara”
instead of “Mai Angwa” and traditional variants of “Ajiya”
“Lawan” ‘Bulama” etc. Villages that have Hausa names like
“Tashan Alade” “Sabon Gari” “Sabon Kasuwa” should have
their Bura names emphasized and used. We should as much
as possible give Bura names to our children. We should
promote and protect the language and culture of our people
beyond our generation and our boundaries.

the north created Boko Haram to make GEJ government un-gorvernable, in order to wrestle power from GEJ,then peradventure, Buhari wins, let Nigerians know that Niger Delta should also rise against Buhari and make him restless until he dies of HBP. The Northerners alone are not born to rule Nigerians.
If Buhari wins, Nigerians prepare for another stronger violence in Nigeria.
I am not supporting violence in Nigeria, but this is the true nature of things to happen if Buhari wins.
Even Buhari's certificateless issue on ground is enough to cause uprising after he's sworn in as Nigeria's next president. No one is above the law.all heads are equal.
why didn't he tackled it? because he thought it was favouring him when they were killing northern people (buhari supporters)
