Hatchery: CHI

As at the time the picx was taken, the drinkers were just about to be arranged

I'm only trying to motivate others around and also contribute my own quota to the development of our society.

Try and google Korea Natural farming ....
It will give you a different perspective to broiler rearing ....
U can pick one or two things to add to your practice....

2. Can your cost of production per head
i.e cost of Doc
Cost of feed
Cost of medication and vaccinations
Cost of woodshavings
Cost of charcoal
Cost lightings
Cost of transportation
Cost of labour
Mortality rate before culling
How many was culled
And your said it was culled & 490/kg to 550/kg

This is just the real cost of production and not infrastructural cost like feeders and drinker,coal pot,broom,parker,buckets etc you will pay of this cost from your profit over time

With your breakdown of real cost of production we can score your performance and rate you and if you need any corrections we can advise u as professional so as to encourage other farmers out there who want to come into the business

Its a simple mathematics my brother, I've given the determining factor of broiler production. Once you budget 4kg per bird, use that to make your inference. Take for example the price of 25kg feed is 3800. That means a kg is #152, 4kg is #608 per bird plus price of doc which is not constant, but assuming you bought them at #200 per bird, then its #802 Per bird for eating alone. Then budget #50 per bird for drugs and other expenses, then you're spending around #852 per bird is cost price.

I sold at average 2.2kg at 530 per kg which means a bird is sold at #1166.
It means on a bird a profit of #314 is made.
i had 30mortalities.
I've given enough figures out for you draw your inferences.

Price varies depending on marketer/off taker. But its between the range of #490 to #550 per kg.

Budget for a bird to eat at least 4kg of feed. So do the multiplication with the price of your favorite feed.

At just 5weeks plus, we sold our birds off. They were sold on Sunday with an average of 2.21.
Sincerely its a beautiful and an eye opening experience. We give God the glory!

Op you took a bold step in the right direction. The weight of your birds are impressive going by their age. I presume you are already an experienced farmer judging by the farm management practices. Had there been mortalities?

Experience is like wealth, it can never be enough. You acquire more everyday as you practice.
I've had my fair share of the negative side to. Had up to 25 mortalities out of 550!

Bring out your pen and do the calculations yourself. Get a carpenter to give you estimate on number of planks and the prices, number of roofing sheets to use, the netting and don't forget the workmanship! Get a bricklayer to give you how many blocks you'll need, tips of sand and number of bags of cement and his workmanship.
When you get those, then come back and scream 1.5

To be sincere with you, I've spent well over a million on construction. To be on the safe side, it will be wise to have your cash in excess than to be stucked half way

Roughly 1.5mill on construction

At day 21 when they were 3 weeks, they are already weighing over a kilo!
Now at day 26, they are all weighing 1.3kg and above.

The journey has not been easy but I thank God its been exciting

if I were u, I wud have saved significant resources by attaching the farmhouse and the brooding house to the pen. It would save u both roofing costs and some block work too. Even space
