MaziOmenuko: From the little I could infer from the report, he made efforts geared towards securing an appointment. All his enquiries met a brick wall. I'm sure that is why he took matters in his own hands to storm the place. He stated his mission, I believe he was expecting to book an appointment and be scheduled for a more convenient day. But al he got was 'no he's not here', 'no, you can't see him'. You do realise this is a "gravely" sick person we are talking about? & pray tell, is there anything in the rules book that this says this particular reporter must get an interview slot ..... . Is there no free will? People can choose not to want to speak with the press at a particular period, This man already did the needful... PYO is acting in his stead... Case closed.. In saner climes, that premises would be flooded by journalist and a host if TV presenters, taking snapshots of everyone going in and out. If that should be the case, what would have been their reaction AR the abuja house? In saner climes, head of governments don't have reporters knocking on their gates to see them,, there are protocols to these things & security wise, do you think it's ok? Would Theresa May, Trump, Mdm Merkel have people knocking on their doors & the next thing is to be ushered inside.. As for reporters camping outside the premises, that is no problem, they don't insist on seeing the person holed up inside, which knocks down your argument... |
Politics › Re: London Police Called To Arrest The Guardian’s Reporter Over Buhari by modath(f): 6:21am On Feb 20, 2017 |
MaziOmenuko: What else do you think investigative journalism is? Should he have stayed back in his house and write a report about the whereabouts of the president without making efforts to find out things for himself? He is trying to do his job professionally and you are crying foul, what if he stays inbthe comfort of his house and writes that the president is dead or has cancer or is down with stroke? Would that be better?
Someone is making effort to get the details of what is really going on, the trip must have been sponsored by his employees, the dude must have spent hours waiting to be attended to and that is not investigative journalism. Tomorrow if he publishes a report based on speculation, you start shouting fake reporter. Bros, as we know for a fact.... Getting an interview slot with high profile individuals is not a matter of just stumbling by & asking to see them. .... Did the guardian newpaper guy book an interview with the man prior to just knocking on the gate? There is no news in this, this is sensationalism for the sheer hell of it... even your local govt chairman is not likely to grant you the time of day in this particular circumstances... Saraki (& probably Zahra)were ushered in, that's that with that... We are grown and know how things ought to be, we shouldn't let our emotion & the way we feel about the nation's state of affairs get in the way of quick / rational &objective criticism! ! Haba!!! P.S.... I know some fools are going to keep their frozen brain in the oven to warm up & quote me to yarn dust, Please do, You'll be fixed quickly... |

Chuksonyeike: We have ezendigbo in kano, likewise we have leader of Yorubas in Onitsha or whatever there are called. I cannot imagine the obi of Onitsha or any other traditional ruler trying to rename the sarkin hausawa. The deji man is just so sick and demented Sarki is CHIEF, Yoruba has Leader .... None is called emir or oba!! & I'm sure none of them goes to the Obi's domain without first asking people around (incase he is new or a toddler who doesn't know the tradition of a place he has been for donkey years) how things are done in Onitsha.... You don't wear a crown to an Oba's palace unless you are a king of equal stature.... it is not done!!Let's even leave that aside, we may all live in Nigeria but Akure is in the southwestern part of Nigeria & populated by a Yoruba majority which as it's extant in the republican/democratic falsehood most of you propagate, the same "sick demented" person has the paramount leadership position & has the right to give an executive order!!!! & like y'all hailed drumpf, it is HIS RIGHT to do so.. ***mic drop*** |
Culture › Re: Forget The Eze Ndigbo Title —Deji Of Akure by modath(f): 7:35am On Feb 19, 2017 |
owobokiri: That deji is a sickening illiterate.. I mean how can the Obi of Onitsha feel threatened by the leader of the Hausa community in Onitsha?? Is that not pitiful?? You see the emir of Kano in a photo-shoot with the so-called Eze ndigbo Kano every now and then. . Everybody knows his place and role. But here, one inebriated deji full of ignorance has been disturbing the public peace for over 2 years over an inconsequential matter.. I like the way the local igbo community there has been annoyingly sticking it up to him.. , that deji chap must be a boring character.. The highlighted is spot on,which is why you'd never see southerners disrespect northern authority figures in their lands.... Yorubas are peaceful, hence this non issue is still trending... I say this with neither fear nor favour, Abokiis will hack (insert meaning of your choice) down anyone who tries any nonsense in their land...You know it, I know it, they freaking know it!! Know your place & respect constituted authority anywhere you find yourself & everyone WILL BE FINE! |

naijaking1: How would you interpret "leader of Igbos in Akure" to Igbo language? That's the futility of the deji's argument. Asiwaju is the literal meaning of "leader"... |

This is where I give my utmost respect to Tinubu Fayose doesn't understand much, his braggadicio & showmanship has deafen him to what's tangible.. The true measure of a leader is how much loyalty he can command without having to say much or make a spectacle of himself.. |
