I didn't want to add to the royal rumble that this thread has become but we are only trading blames & speaking oyinbo till we realise the problem isn't even what we are arguing about....

When Pry 4 pupils are able to "WRITE" / "READ" the definition of a "NOUN" & not just turn it into a song to be mimed, then we can chart a course..

We are just scratching the surface & dancing with shigidi in the market place....

Peace..

N.B.... As for the uniform thing, ALL the schools (+ the highbrow /exclusive ones) in Abidjan Cote D'ivoire wear the same uniform, they are doing very fine...so using that as a point of argument is off key....

On the contrary, atiku has a very large and big support base in the north ,west and east. What gave buhari the image of been too popular is because most of the time he had always been contesting against southerners,I believe if he had contested against a formidable northern candidate like atiku under pdp,the results would have been different. But all that is in the past ,and we have to move on
Let's leave political differences aside.... I'm sure deep deep deep inside of you, you don't believe that assertion... kwankwanso, El Rufai, even Shekarau will dust Atiku in a nano second, he is more of perception than reality.

Atiku is only popular among the political ELITES, his massive war chests won't do him any good where it matters.... most northerners don't care about him, he doesn't elicit any emotional attachment..

As at today, don't know about tomorrow, next week or next year! But on this day, Buhari is numero uno in the north, forget the almajiri propaganda, even the intelligent , professional ones STAN hard!!!!

My dear, I don't take politicians too seriously. They're a problem to the world as a whole.

But I doubt if Fayose will make any such turn. It will be the most ridiculous actions of all time......but never say never......Fayose is needed to keep the APC on its toes. He remains a blessing to our polity.
My thoughts!

& on the opposition thing, allow me make an analogy; if a kid that throws tantrum on a regular basis starts yelling, the normal human reaction is " this pikin, wetin now" undecided

A child that only cries for specific reasons will always get attention & resolution..

Fayose is not very wise... opposition for the sheer hell of it is counterproductive... everyone hears but most don't care!

I'm in the same shoes but I won't let it bug me...

I have vivid recollections how hungry we were for knowledge, we were young readers back then, we read everything & anything we could lay our hands on!!

Someone getting new pacesetter book was a source of joy & "eye service", we all pick numbers on reading order, woe betide you if you misplace it cos you aren't offending the owner only, you also will get the cold shoulder from the folks who lost out...

It took me weeks to get "An African Night's Entertainment" for someone cos bookshops only stock recommended texts... The desire to read has deriously waned!!!

E dey pain me but a nor be government, I also don't have the influence to force things, so I just grew a thick skin & K.I. M !! undecided

I am not even moved anymore!! Used to be embarrassed & forlorn when these results are published but not anymore!

Whyhuh?

Where are the teachers to impart knowledge or guide these malleable minds ??

The state government is lackluster & the policies are skewed on the side of unreasonable but have you ever tried to have a conversation with teachers who aren't youth Corp members ? !

Take a random survey of most of these public school teachers, they are almost incapable of expressing themselves intelligibly, what on earth do we then expect them to teach?!

As for Aregbe, he needs divine intervention, he makes policy gaffes on a buy one get one free mode!

The whole country's educational system is bleeped & in need of major restructuring, banking on state governments to do it will achieve moving from zero to nothing!!

They will claim no money & policy constraints & as long as everything still rests with the centre, we need to tackle it from there.

1.We need the Fed govt to implement the abolishment of all these room & parlour insanashional sukuls, they are causing havoc , giving people who don't know better a false sense of fulfillment about what sound education really is...they aren't balanced! No rec , no extra curricular facilities.

2. We also need them to penalize schols that employ SSCE "fail outs" as teachers!!!

3. Make teaching attractive, better renumeration, training etc

4. Declare a state of emergency in ELEMENTARY education because this problem didn't spring up at the secondary level, it is from the miming A for Apple (without actually being able to spell the apple) that the gbege starts from!!

The matter get as e be!! sad

Politics › Re: Fielding Jonathan In 2015 Election Was A Mistake - Fayose by modath(f):
omenka:
Jonathan was unfit to govern a Local Government Area, let alone a country.

Jonathan didn't lose the election because he isn't from the North, no. He lost because he was a perpetual failure both in character and performance. He redefined what it meant to be a weak leader. He embraced the oddest of people and loathed anyone with a touch of moral rectitude who dared to point him in the right direction. He surrounded himself with all the ingredients for a guaranteed flop.

Regardless, the election is done and dusted and I find it somewhat incomprehensible why. Fayose is coming up with this now; I mean, if he knew all along PDP erred in fielding Jonathan, why did he make himself the arrowhead of the personal attacks on Buhari in the run-up to the general elections?? Is he trying to warm himself up to the presidency?? Is Aluko's threat to expose more behind this latest overtures especially this coming after visiting two APC governors??

Only time will tell, and when that time comes, I hope those miscreants who've sworn on the remains of their forefathers to sing Fayose's praises to the end of time feel humble enough to acknowledge and applaud his utterances. I hope when that time comes, he doesn't become "a Yoruba man" to those people...
The Fayose is role model crew dare not back down from this assertion Of his, he is their mouthpiece, they've always applauded every asinine act & comment that have been placed in the public domain so they have no choice but to agree with him on this as well.....

This MOFO hasn't paid salary since October, he isn't sharing money to party jobbers anymore (I like this, lazy people don't deserve handouts), they were really shaken by the Aluko story cos they never dreamt that amount of money passed through their formerly beloved oshoko's hands...

His version of lastma seriously dealing with motorists (nice as well, people should learn to obey the law).

They also were so enraged that he is now seeking to be on good terms with other SW governors & states (particularly Aregbe) that he has consistently called names & used as examples of the bullet they dodged by not returning Fayemi.

See badmouthing cheesy... I just dey laugh dem for my Belle cos if I laugh out, they'd be seriously offended cos they are really really pained. cheesy

It was just a political miscalculation. The fact is that my former president, I chose my word, my former president, Goodluck Jonathan, tried his best. But if I were him, I would not have contested at all, you understand. Because it is two ways: if he did not contest and the PDP lost out, he will still be an honourable man, and if he had given that opportunity to the north, those who defected from the PDP would not have defected.
Waoh , Fayose knew all these & he still collected Hero's money to coerce Ekiti voters with 2k each... shocked

When he was being "helped" with ecological fund, shining among low allocation + IGR states & able to pay salaries on time, Hero wasn't a political miscalculation then!!

When Don Fortunato was disarming Nigerians with his sappy shoeless story &got votes from every corner of the country in '11, was he a NORTHENER thenhuh

Subject: Notification of Intent.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to notify the embassy of an update in my travel plans. I have a B1/B2 visa which was renewed via the drop box service in February. I am pregnant and we have decided to have our baby in the USA. I have contacted an hospital in the USA for this purpose and we have adequate finances to cover all expenses.

I understand my visa covers for this purpose but would like to request you kindly update my records to reflect this development  in my travel plans. Also please advise if there is any other thing i would need to know or do.

Yours sincerely,
I got two responses, the Lagos own was harsh like kilode!! so I discarded with the quickness & went with the Abuja.

Subject: RE: Notification of Intent.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your notification. Before you travel to the United States to have a child you should make the appropriate preparations, including an appointment with a healthcare provider, detailed information about where you will receive your medical services, and an estimate of the financial costs. Immigration officials may ask for this information upon your arrival.  Healthcare in the United States is expensive.  Costs associated with child birth are high and can escalate quickly if there are complications. You are expected to pay all costs associated with the medical services received.  Retain an itemized statement of account from your healthcare provider that outlines all of the charges from your care and receipt of your payment.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Best Regards,
Consular Section
