APC Rivers State will not Participate in the Election. This is according to what the INEC Chairman said today, 20th February, that Supreme Court has sealed Rivers State APC and they will not Participate in the Election. He also said that the Commission has taken a stand on Rivers Election base on the Judgement of the Supreme court.

He said while answering questions from his Press conference today, that the Supreme court has ruled out APC from contesting election in Rivers State and their will be no APC in the ballot papers except in the Presidential election.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said that the Supreme court is the final court and it has given its judgement and their is no other court to go to.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, said the INEC is a law abiding commission and will obey the judgement of the Supreme court to the latest.

Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) through a statement released by its national President, Chinedu Okoronkwo, has announced that Petroleum price will reduce from N145 per litre to N140 per litre across the nation starting from Monday, 20th February.

According to IPMAN, the reduction of price which will last for only 5 days is temporal. The aim of the price slash is for voters to be able to travel to their various voting communities to cast their vote.

Recall that INEC suddenly postponed the election date from 16th February to 23rd February for Presidential elections and National Assemblies elections and also, 2nd of March to 9th March for Governorship and House of Assemblies elections.

“This is because of the political situation that hit the country after INEC suddenly announced the postponement of presidential and National Assembly elections after Nigerians were fully prepared. Doyin Okupe, former Presidential spokesperson to former President Goodluck Jonathan said on Sunday in a statement he titled, "How Lai Mohammed betrayed Saraki", that Bukola Saraki contributed more than Bola Tinubu to make Buhari President of Nigeria in 2015.

“Prior to the establishment of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, certain agreements were reached with principal stakeholders.

“Saraki was among the major stakeholders, being the single individual that raised the highest donation to the Buhari/All Progressives Congress campaign, far in excess of (what) Asiwaju (Bola) Tinubu or (Rotimi) Amaechi or anyone for that matter, (donated).

“Saraki was promised the post of Senate President and two ministerial slots.

“After May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari called Saraki and apologised that he could only have one ministerial slot instead of the two previously agreed.

“Saraki, most reluctantly, but in deference to the President, conceded.

“Shortly afterwards, the President requested for another political favour from Saraki. This time, he wanted Saraki’s consent to use the remaining one ministerial slot allocated to him (Saraki) to appoint Lai Mohammed as minister.

“This was a gruesome blow to Saraki who questioned why the President could not ask Asiwaju (Tinubu) to accommodate Lai Mohammed in his own slot.

“The President confirmed to Saraki that Asiwaju had blatantly refused to do so. A thoroughly perplexed Saraki could only plead with the president to allow him go back home in Kwara State and find the best way to break this heart-shattering news to members of his political family.

“It was an unimaginable scenario. It took more than sagacity and political dexterity for the request of the President to be accepted but for the grace and very long lasting bonded relationship for the Saraki camp not to break up for this singular development.

“Lai Mohammed was summoned by the elders of the group, including Alhaji Kawu Baraje and former Governor Shaba Lafiaji and others.

“Lai Mohammed wept profusely, severally rolling on bare floor and swearing on every sacred institution and object of faith.

“The elders told him point blank that they did not trust him but that they were doing this for God, the President and interest of their leader, Bukola Saraki.
“Today, Lai Mohammed is the leader of a movement planning to unseat Saraki and destroy him politically”.

From what Doyin Okupe said, it means that Saraki was betrayed by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed despite his emergence as Information minister was because Saraki allowed his slot to be given to him. This is still alledged and cannot be confirmed yet.

Okupe also alledged that stakeholders around Buhari also betrayed Saraki by trying to prevent him from becoming the Senate President despite their agreement.

He went further to say that Bukola Saraki as an individual contributed financially to the emergence of President Buhari more than Bola Tinubu and Rotimi Amaechi.

The question many Nigerians wants to know is whether Saraki Contributed more than Bola Tinubu to make Buhari President in 2015.

Rotimi Amaechi, Transport Minister, vowed not to support the governorship aspiration of the Senator representing Rivers South East, Senator Magnus Abe.

Magnus Abe an APC Chieftain, who used to be Amaechi strong ally, has falling out of favour. Abe is busy romancing with all the Politicians in Rivers State, in-respective of Party Affiliation.

Most of the Politicians behind Magnus Abe are PDP members that used to be bedfellows of Mr. Rotimi Amaechi but dump him when he decamped to APC. Amaechi spear headed the Senatorial campaign that brought election victory to Senator Magnus Abe.

Why the sudden rift between these two friends? The Transport Minister has reportedly said that there should be rotation of power between upland and riverine communities. He said that the power should shift to the Riverine communities in Rivers State. Amaechi maintain that an Ikwerre man has ruled for 12 years and it is wise for another tribe to take on the helm of leadership in the state. He said from the rotation of power which was in place in the state, it is the turn of a riverine man or woman to become the next governor of the state.

Magnus Abe is from Ogoni, an upland area of the state. He want an Ogoni man to become the next governor of the state. He sees himself as the only qualified Ogoni man that should be the next governor of the state. But if an Ogoni man become the governor of Rivers State come 2019, it will make 20 years an upland man have rule the state successively. Peter Odili ruled for 8 years. Rotimi Amaechi ruled for 8 years and now Wike will rule for 4 years or another 8 years. These men are all from the upland part of the state. This is what Rotimi Amaechi is trying to put an end to. He said it will be unjust if power is not shifted to the people of the riverine part of the state.

The question some APC supporters are asking is whether Senator Magnus Abe can take power from Nyesom Wike in 2019. One of the supporters of APC in Rivers State told Talk News Sports that if truly Abe wants to defeat Wike come 2019, he should stop romancing with the opposition. If Abe is working for APC, he will not be seen with the opposition all the time. Mr. Ebele, an APC supporter in Rivers State said Magnus Abe is being used by PDP to create disaffection among APC members in the state, in order for Wike to have a smooth running victory in 2019.

Could this be the reason why Rotimi Amaechi said that Magnus Abe is daring him and that he won’t support his governorship aspiration?

Physically challenged Protesters shut down NDDC

Just this morning all physically-challenged people invaded NDDC headquarters building situated along Port Harcourt Aba Expressway to protest against the injustice done to them by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

They are unhappy with the rate of unemployment of physically-challenged individuals in Niger Delta region.
According to an eyewitness, the protesters passed the night at the NDDC headquarters gate Aba road where they can express their neglect by Niger Delta Development Commission in the scheme of things. Their action led to the barricade of the major Aba expressway as well as restricting workers from entering the NDDC headquarter to begin their day to day activities.

Their major grievance was with the fact that they don't get the same opportunities as able-bodied people.

They later granted workers pass after the MD of NDDC had addressed them and asked to speak with their representatives. The aggrieved people living with disability blocked the gates of NDDC headquarter building and Rumuola to Waterline axis in Aba road from 6:30 am to 11:30 am. There was massive traffic jam around the axis this morning.

The Managing Director of NDDC, Nsima Ekere was angry with the security operatives of both the Nigerian Police and Civil Defense for allowing the physically challenged people to obstruct traffic in Rumuola to Waterline axis in Aba road.

After the meeting between the MD of NDDC and the representatives of the physically challenged, they later removed their barricade from the road and traffic started moving about 11:34 am.

10 Human Skulls and 17 AK47 Found in Don Wanny’s Shrine as Army denies Killing Him

Six division of the Nigeria Army in Port Harcourt yesterday, Monday 20th November raided the Shrine of a notorious Militant and kidnap kingpin popularly known as Don Wanny. Don Wanny whose real name is Ejima Igwe Dibia was among the militants who accepted Rivers State Amnesty and pardon.

He was almost killed yesterday by the Military who said they acted on a tip-off from some Rivers indigenes. The Six division of Nigeria Army stormed the shrine of Don Wanny on a surprise attack. The Army debunk the claim by some quarters that Don Wanny was killed in the surprise attack. The Army also said that Don was not around when they stroke.

Some of Don Wanny boys were killed and some escaped with bullet wounds. The Army arrested some females living in the Shrine and recovered 17 AK47, 1 Pump Action Rifle and according to the Army, more than 8 human skulls were found in the shrine.

Don Wanny has been terrorising the Egbema – Omoku – Ahoada axis of Rivers State as most kidnapping on that axis has been linked to him and his bunch of criminals.

Yesterday there was great jubilation from the residents of Omoke on hearing the news of what the Army did to Don Wanny, this also stormed the council secretariat with an atmosphere of jubilation. They were saying that the Army has killed Don Wanny the notorious criminal and militant but this claim has been debunked by the Army.

The question some people were asking is whether the Army has the right to storm, attack and almost killed a man believed to be a former militant who was among those granted Amnesty by the Rivers State Government or should we say that the Rivers State Amnesty program is a hoax as claimed by the opposition party?

Some people also thought that the Army is trying to rid the state of bad boys before 2019 Election but all these assertions cannot be verified.

The 193- member United Nation General Assembly has adopted a resolution that calls for an end to United State economic embargo on Cuba. United State Congress on Wednesday voted against the resolution adopted by United Nation condemning U.S trade embargo against Cuba. A man who has loss his car battery to thieves 3 times in Woji area of Port Harcourt has decided to use chain to secure his motor battery from being stolen again. When asked by Talk News Sports, he said that Robbers come at night to steal his car battery.
