First of all, I was fortunate to be at the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) convention that started on 3rd Sept. 2016 at Old Parade ground, Area10, Abuja. Therefore, everything I am going to say is an eye witnesses report as it happened right in front of me.

Secondly, I used to be a victim of electronic media propaganda until I saw a report on the convention which was entirely contrary to what happened there, and unfortunately broadcasted by so many media outfits including the almighty Nairaland.

The report shows a picture of some policemen beating an unidentified person and another picture of a wounded person purpoted to be the same person and then tagged it "Police beat delegate at NANS convention", what a junk journalism.

On the contrary, the person beaten by the police was not a delegate!

The guy carried a sophisticated gun to the convention and he was boldly brandishing it, and he equally wore a P-cap with AIYE boldly written on it. So that was the reason why police arrested him and beat him to pulp after seizing the gun.

The second person with injuries was not the same person, he was one of the aspirants. He sustained that injury in a stampede when police started shooting in the air, trying to scare other cultists away. That was the reason why the election could not hold on saturday till sunday.

Finally, Aruna was elected the president of NANS. Always use your number six when you see reports on newspapers.
