PDP can actually lose the two states. No two legal battles are EXACTLY the same. Each case has it's own peculiarities and wining a case is largely dependent on how the lawyers are able to argue their case CONVINCINGLY.

So, what will determine the two cases (Benue and Taraba) goes beyond writing artlicles on Nairaland or PDP/Metuh writing press releases to blackmail the judiciary. If such tactics would work, Taraba's tribunal would not have favoured Mama Taraba given that PDP had shouted of cladenstine plots before that judgement.

Is Taraba state more volatile now than it was 6months ago? How come the tribunals are not holding court in affected state capitals? Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Rivers all had their tribunal hearing moved to Abuja, except Delta state.

To most discerning people the tribunal read from a prepared script, shikena.

This same tribunal is presently sitting in Abuja because of........yes you guessed it...because of security challenges, same reason PDP primaries could not hold in Taraba.

Channels Television .
Updated April 26, 2015
The Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) has declared the
candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), Darius Ishaku winner of the Taraba
governorship election.
Mr Ishaku polled 369,318 votes to beat his
closest opponent and candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Sen Aisha
Alhassan, who polled 275,984 votes.
There were reports of sporadic shooting at
one of the collation centres in Takum
Local Government Area of the State, when
the supplementary elections were held on
Saturday.
No number of casualties have been
reported.
Channels Television’s correspondent, Yemi
Kosoko, said the gunshots were heard
after elections have been held.
“News just filtered in that there is a
problem in collation centre in Takum where
the results of elections held in the local
council were being collated. There was
sporadic shooting at the collation centre.
“Apart from that, there are no other
incidents reported so far,” he said.
The supplementary election held in three
registration areas in the local council,
where the April 11 elections were declared
inconclusive .
The Taraba State Resident Electoral
Commissioner (REC), Mr Ahmed Makamma
had confirmed that a run off will be
holding in the governorship election in the
north eastern state after the April 11
elections were declared inconclusive.
Speaking via a telephone interview on
Channels Television’s election monitoring
programme, Nigeria 2015, Mr Makamma
said “there will be a run off between the
person with the highest number of votes
and the person behind him”.
He also confirmed that the candidate of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr
Darius Ishiaku, is leading the candidate of
the All Progressives congress (APC), Sen
Aisha Alhassan, “with a margin of about
53,000 votes”.
Mr Makamma also confirmed that the
results from Donga Local Government Area
was cancelled.
“So that makes the election inconclusive,
because if you look at the margin at the
moment is 53, 000 and the number of
cancelled votes is 127, 125, so there will
be a runoff election to determine who the
winner is”, he said.

Mr Ishaku polled 369,318 and Sen Aisha Alhassan polled 275,984 votes, doesn't invalidate my assertion that PDP won the election did it?

Taraba judgment, another evidence of executive interference -PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Saturday’s judgment of the Taraba state gubernatorial election tribunal in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hajia Aisha Jummai Alhassan is another evidence of executive interference in the judiciary.

The party said the reason given by the tribunal for arriving at the bizarre decision is intriguing and further exposes the contradictions and double standards inherent in most tribunal rulings against PDP interests recently.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh said in a statement on Saturday that the Taraba state tribunal ruling again brings to the fore the organized plan by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Federal Government to deploy all unorthodox means to decimate the opposition.

“It is rather curious and a great conflict of irony that the Taraba tribunal sitting in Abuja on security grounds faulted the conduct of PDP primaries shifted to the same Abuja on security reasons”, the party stressed.

The PDP said if the tribunal is faulting the party primaries as basis for its decision, it then means that no APC gubernatorial candidate can stand the test, as their party never had acceptable primaries in any of their states.

The PDP wants democracy watchers globally to recall that it had earlier alerted the nation and the international community of the grand design by the APC to use the judiciary to wrestle some PDP states, particularly Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Taraba states.

“Evidence that Taraba ruling was a product of Presidency manipulation can be deduced from the fact that few hours before the judgment was delivered, the APC had arrogantly announced their victory on the new media”, it said.

PDP said it is totally confounded by the brazing show of power by the executive and warned that the development clearly portends grave danger to our democracy and indeed national cohesion and development.

Finally the party calls on its members across the country, especially in Taraba state to remain undaunted as the appellate courts will restore its well-deserved victory.

Gbawe:
It is time every brazen act of impunity and wrongdoing the PDP took during the 2015 election is reversed. We all know that PDP leaders never expected GEJ to lose so they stuck their fingers up at Nigeria and brazenly carried out all manner of electoral malpractices. They must have thought Buhari is joking when Mr.President announced that he would do all in his power to ensure all acts of electoral violence, arson, misconduct and vote rigging is looked into exhaustively. PDP getting what it deserves in my opinion.

When they hounded Captain Sagir Koli out of Nigeria, because he revealed how Obanikoro and Fayose were bullying a Senior Nigerian military office to assist their vote rigging plans, PDP fans mocked us on Nairaland when we complained over that development. The threads are still here where some of us insisted this was wrong and must not be ignored with culprit unpunished. GEJ, in all his unscrupulous glory, pretended he did not notice the biggest and most disgraceful scandal to hit Nigeria in a while. In fact, showing the total disdain GEJ had for Nigerians, he made Obanikoro a Minister after that disgraceful episode. PDP and GEJ fans even taunted us that Captain Koli should show face to defend his allegation if he dares. Well Karma is a naughty woman and she is here for payback. Make una enjoy. For the next four years PDP and its fans will know that a disciplined, resolute and principled leader is in charge and not a corrupt, unprincipled, totally shameless and weak reprobate.
