Wrong. Many people are under watch, even as they are serving within the government in sensitive positions. Infact, people serving with the government in sensitive places are more watched than others, it's possible that even the administration before Buhari placed Dasuki under watch before its tenure expired.
Try and paint a sensible scenario not the above, come on.
The past admin thought he was a national threat yet he remained in his position till the demise of the administration.

On the contrary, there is the freedom of thought and expression don't just cross the national security line.
Decree 4 can't work in present dispensation, forget that line of thought.

AZeD1:
Try robbing the office of the DSS and see who comes after you.
If their offices were robbed, it would still be the primary role of the police to investigate. The only exception would be if the police indicate to the DSS that the motive of the robbery was to gather intelligence about the workings of DSS. The job of investigating robberies is the exclusive domain of the police unless as stated above.

They don't have your time yet. Be patient , don't try and jump the queue.
The predicted "Police state" is about to become real, no more freedom of thought or freedom of expression.

According to the DSS. The law gives them the right to do that. Oh by the way, it is one day Shekau became a threat to National security, the same way it would take Dasuki a day to become a threat.
Wow!! bros you nailed it with the emboldened, flawless logic. I wonder why I've not been arrested, I could one day become a threat also.

The DSS actually faulted by not stopping this early, something they are trying to do now that you are complaining.
Maybe you got me wrong, my complaint is that the DSS left their primary role of intelligence gathering. The article on page one detailed their obsession to please the incumbent at Aso rock rather than concentrate on the fight against terrorism. You'd agree, storming PDP offices and working as parallel EFCC officials is tantamount to giving boko haram unhindered access to bomb at will, boko haram has benefited from the resulting chaos.

The fight against Boko Haram has been handed over to the Nigerian Army and the multinational joint task force. Everyman and his dog knows that.
But the gathering of intelligence is the responsibility of DSS, boko haram is not a regular army, the spate of suicide bombings that escalated in recent weeks can only be the result of the DSS not playing its primary role of intelligence gathering.

The JURISDICTION of the DSS is Nigeria.

Anything or anyone they feel is a threat to National security is under their jurisdiction.
Is Dasuki or the the storming of PDP secretariat a bigger threat than boko haram? You forgot the primary role of the DSS is to secure Nigeria.

Mynd44:
1. Dasuki's case was one bordering on National security and they went with a warrant. It was during the search they discovered the cars. You might know (I don't think you know anyway) that to own a bulletproof car, you must have been cleared by all National security agencies including the DSS. So they were well within their constraints

2. Still Dasuki. They found on him high powered rifles which no one would have issued licence for. What is that, national security or what?

3. When oil marketers went on strike, the country was all but shut down. I think it is fair if we call our energy sector a national security one. In the USA, the FBI are called in issues of Economics that might threaten internal security or a cartel purposely hiking prices

4. Stop being a clown. When the DSS was used to escort electoral materials, you did not know you were also going to have them involved all through?

5. This is hilarious. The DSS can actually go into any crime scene they want and it is then their choice on whether to intervene or not. No arrests were made and they left them to their issues.

You people make this too easy
Very weak and lame attempt at justifying the reasons the DSS sought to impede the works of the police, the EFCC etc when they should be gathering intelligence on boko haram. The DSS with its attempt at looking the other way gave boko haram the impetus to bomb the NE at will. We can all see the results of the inefficiency that has plagued DSS since Buhari took over.

Instead of storming boko haram hideouts the sss are busy storming PDP offices, this change is travelling same route as the change in Osun, we're heading for disaster as long as Buhari remains the driver.

Meanwhile Bubu is afraid of probing OBJ because OBJ intends exposing the "real" Buhari.....niceeeeeeeee

A source close to Buhari’s government has said that the president was only trying to diffuse gossips in the media about Obasanjo being a target of his probe.

The former president was reported to have already started compiling a report which included documents linking President Buhari and key assistants and colleagues in his government to major fraud connected to different affairs of the administration, when he received President Buhari’s “esprit de corps” plea for a general understanding and restraint.

The incumbent leader of the nation quickly announced a negation of his threats, declaring publicly that he would not spread his corruption investigation beyond the government of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari exactly indicated through Femi Adesina, his media aide, that he would not waste time in probing the administrations of ex-presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Sani Abacha, and Ibrahim Babangida.

Meanwhile, the report caused doubts among critics on the president’s credibility in fighting corruption as he firstly swaggered.

Buhari’s request for cooperation with the USA, however, provoked a supposed reaction by President Obasanjo, who is alleged to be one of Nigeria’s most corrupt past leader by most western countries.

America has specified it would help Nigeria’s new leader to recover billions of dollars in stolen assets – a move that might discover previous fraudulent actions in the Obasanjo’s tenure.

Meanwhile, the United States government may not be please with selective probe of executive fraudsters which may worsen Nigeria-USA relationships.

It should be also noted that as the Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar was caught up by a US Grand Jury which reports detailed his fraudulent participation with Congressman, William Jefferson to secure a business deal in Nigeria.

Chief Obasanjo’s regime has been believed to be the most fraudulent in Nigeria’s history.
