FROM THE LABOUR PARTY IN RIVERS STATE. The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Rivers State, Tonye Princewill, has accused Governor Rotimi Amaechi of selling the state’s assets to an indigenous oil company, Sahara Energy, and using the fund that accrued from the sale to finance the activities of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
PREMIUM TIMES recently reported how assets such as Olympia Hotel, Abonemma Wharf, Risonpalm and the power generating stations in the state were sold to Sahara Energy.
Mr. Princewill alleged that the over $800 million realized from the sale of the assets was never lodged into the coffers of the state government. “Money changed hands but the accounts they entered were not necessarily Rivers state government’s officially operated accounts,” he said. He also alleged that there is no evidence of competitive tendering, independent valuation or a transparency in the entire process, arguing that the “Rivers people cannot be sure they got a good deal”. |

They have started retracting their narrative of late. Here's Adamu Oshiomhole saying practically the same thing as above. We Found No Corruption Offense Against Jonathan – APC THE Muhammadu Buhari’s government’s war against Corruption has taken a new dimension, as their major target, former President Goodluck Jonathan have been declared Corruption free.
The Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who in the last two months the Buhari’s government mouthpiece on Economy and Corruption related issues, announced this Abuja.
According to Oshiomhole, “our government have found nothing Incriminating against Jonathan, but he must take responsibility for others in his government as the leader”
The acting Finance Minister announced on their arrival in Washington DC, that the US will help them to recover $150billion they think was stolen in the last 16years, Hope For Nigeria reports.
On their return, the government announced that they will only probe the 5 years government of Goodluck Jonathan.
In a related development, Nigerians are calling on Buhari to start the much talked probe without further wasting of time, especially now his wife is listed by the US state department in Money Laundering case of Halliburton which the recipient, Mr Jefferson is now in Jail.
Buhari is afraid of sending his wife to prison and have dropped the Halliburton case where former President Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar both heavily funded his Election, were implicated in multi-million Dollar Bribery case. |
