R.I.P

He was only 65, looking at it differently, Fayose was right to be cautious of our leaders. The average lifespan of the Nigerian man is 60 or so, yet we have people who want to fight for office at 70+ years. (No names please)
Politics › Re: Buhari To Name Journalist, Tolu Ogunlesi, SA New Media by Mogidi:
Apart from the military officials, Buhari has only appointed News men, Garba Shehu, Adesina and Ogunlesi.
This government is going to rule through Twitter, this is why it was wrong to vote an illiterate.

Twitter may have won Buhari the presidency, twitter can't sustain his grip on power.

The intention of my post wasn't to make it look as if Buhari is on point.
The failings of Nigeria didn't start from the Jonathan's administration either but rather than poke at Buhari every day/week; would it not be better at 100 days where even the opposition knows it is a fair enough period for appraisals?

In the end, we all (critics, passive followers, aggressive followers, supporters and the rest) want Nigeria to work
Wait 100 days, even Buhari's ardent supporters are complaining at his sluggishness.
A report by an influential western newspaper captured the mood of the nation when it had as its headline ''baba go slow''

I'm going to the indulge you for the fun of it.

1)Is there any immunity covering Sylva as one of the transition committee? How did you know for a fact that Buhari stopped the prosecutor from prosecuting Slyva?Isn't this same Slyva that was alleged to have hired crowd to stone Buhari before the 2011 elections?
Buhari is the president now, instead of facing charges, he was busy organising Buhari's transition committee. Same Buhari that won an election using ending of corruption as his main campaign slogan.

2)You really expected an insurgent of the last 8yrs more to be wiped out in 2 months?Yet,your hero couldn't do so in 6yrs?
GEJ contained the insurgents around the forest of Sambisa before handing over. Same Buhari threw many spanners in the works to make it impossible for GEJ to defeat the insurgents. ''An attack on boko haram is an attack on the north' says Buhari.

3)As at march last year, the naira exchange rate was at 165 to 1 dollar. It sky rocketed to 220 before Jona left office.

I guess Jona and his team of economic experts led by our dearest NOI were sleeping then.

Criticize the president constructively not this poo and lame write up you guys throw here and there.
What happened to N1= $1 ?

What does that tell you?? Your man GEJ played politics with things he shouldn't have played it with and it cost him.

That, for me and for many others was one of the main things that swung our votes the other way.
The article is nothing but constructive criticism, I mean how do you criticize properly?

You people conveniently promote Buhari as the man responsible for the recent gains in electricity but retort with ''he's only been there for 45 days'' when faced with superior arguments.

well, I have not really said you should not criticise, infact no one is free from criticisms and that is why some people have not argreed with some of your words up there. As for me, if a former Millitary General can take things easy so as not to leave deep holes looming behind in latter stages, he surely means well for us.
We're yet to see Buhari's blue print or road map, how long are we going to wait.

If vandals are no longer vandalising pipes, GEJ who contracted the surveilance to militants should take the credit. If the surveilance was not working you'd blame GEJ right?
Politics › Re: Buhari's Response To Dele Momodu: My Thoughts... by Mogidi: 1:37pm On Jul 16, 2015
Mynd44:
I. You ask for the direct influence of the present administration in power. You forget the government decided to stop the contracts to militant groups and instead put the money into the security agencies and have them secure these assets. If you go through the assessments of the ministry of power, most of the rise in power is associated with gas supply. Another point you fail to see is that the feeling at the top affects what happens in their agencies. You know you have an administration that will not tolerate incompetence and you will not let yourself fall back. That alone makes people sit up
Apart from Tompolo, contracts with militants has either expired or would expire soon, it has nothing to do with Buhari. You still insist ''the feeling at the top'' affected it, why has it not affected other ministries? You can't take credit for what works and then plead for time when we scrutinize other sectors.

2. Kanji? Do you know how much power Nigeria generates from Kanji? If Kanji is running and the gas plants are not, the rise in generation will not happen.

3. You say we are losing the war against Boko Haram but really? Have you considered that BH are now not able to hold parts of the country due to the agreements with chad and Niger and with these countries cooperating with us, they have no hiding place and now we are dealing with an enemy that does not have enough might to laugh a frontal assault hence turns to suicide bombing
We are losing the war against boko haram, agreements with Niger and Chad you quoted were actually the brain child of GEJ, Buhari derided the decision at the time. By May 29th boko haram were only active around Sambisa, who aided their upsurge?

@Mynd44
Isn't it strange that when the present government comes under scrutiny most APC supporters deploy their usual defence of give the govt time?
You people would want us to believe Buhari is responsible for the recent upsurge in electricity distrubution without telling us his actual input that necessitated these gains.
What has Buhari done in the energy sector to take credits, if the industry was not performing you and the rest of his supporters would have insisted that the rot in that industry woould take years to eliminate. You failed to recognize the input of the last administration in the power sector and the seasonal advantages of kainji water level.

Stop using the defence ''is not business as usual'' because APC repeated this line in different guises during the election. I remember APC saying it won't be business as usual for boko haram when General Buhari takes over. Since the fight against insurgents have yielded no result, I no longer hear APC supporters saying because Buhari was an ex army General boko haram are trembling in their shoes.
