Family › Re: Do You Believe In Surrogate Babies? by mohawkchic(f): 6:00pm On May 29, 2009
~Yes i do,& i must commend the Women out there who choose to Carry babies for Women who arent fertile or cant have children due to some illness . .The Success stories that is!

~As Of the cases wherein the Surrogate mums refuse to give up the child,I can only imagine what that must feel like. . . must be heartbreaking for the expectant parents but i can totally understand it aint easy cutting ties w/ a baby that has grown inside you for nine months!!

~I've always been drawn to Articles or Documentarys about Surrogacy & often wondered if I cud do the same . . undecided Doubt that very much . . . .I cant pretend not to be attched to the baby growing in me even tho i know it wont be mine . . .Really makes me wonder how Surrogate mums deal w/ these emotions !!

~A British Surrogate mum have given birth to 12 surrogate babies plus her own two children. . . .the money must be that good or she loves being Preggers/Passionate about making a difference in someone else's life by making a dream come true! . . . . I think all 3 grin

Family › Re: Why Do Women Nag? by mohawkchic(f): 1:17am On May 29, 2009
~Women dont speak in some special code only Women understand!! If only half the men that complain women nag will spend that time trying to listen closely to whats been said, they wud save themselves the hassle!!Simply put,if some men Communicated better, there will be less naggers. . . lets face it,There are some people who were just born to nag! cheesy

~Nagging is a woman's way of  complaining about something you were either suppose to have done, should have done & still haven't come round to doing!!: Am sure you'll agree whatever it is that is been "nagged" about has been said/mentioned at least two or three times already. . . but Some men prefer to "Zone-Out" pretend they are listening . . . will smile, nod & agree when everything you're saying is going in one ear & out the other!! If you're guilty of doing this, you know you're in deep shite when you dont have a response to "What did i just say?" grin Ding !Dong !You so deserve the nagging!

~Some women use nagging over insignificant Silly things to get to whats really bothering her. . . .Sometimes we do a lot of "Talking" but but that doesn't necessarily mean we're getting the message across the right way. . . or at all, for that matter !

~Me am more of a "Riddler Nag"  ie The Nagger That Nags Without Nagging"
the history of sagging is shameful,so why associate with it?and more still,i think it's common amongst the youngsters here in Naija, don't worry, lets give them time, they'll outgrow it, but for females,if u wear a low rise denim, try wear a tank top/shirt dat'll go down to the top of the pockets[u'll still look sexy]but u exposing all that stuff on okada and the likes could be really disgusting especially when u have adults,e.t.c. passing embarrassing remarks at u, u can dress sexy without exposing ur 'butt crack', u can ask the guys grin grin grin
~ grin . . Now thats not Sagging,Its "ButtCrack Flashing"   cheesy

Oversized Shades
Be cool and stylish with a pair of oversized or retro sunglasses. Just be careful on how you choose them and find a pair that will match the shape of your face.

Cropped Jackets
They’re great for those mild days of mixed sun and breeze. A cropped jacket can be paired with long layers or a casual tee or tank for a modern look.

Statement Jewelry
From chandelier necklaces to four-fingered rings, these popular pieces of jewelry look great with any outfit for any occasion.

Boyfriend Jeans
The loose, relaxed fit style and rolled up hem can be worn with flats, pumps, or almost any other shoe that you’re in the mood for. You can even try them in shorts for a cooler look.

~Top Ten trends for Summer 2009

1. DRESSES - Must-haves - Easy A-line 60's shifts, dynamic Grecian drapery, asymmetric off the one shoulder styles.   New tier volume tulip skirt shapes over straight longer skirts.  Strapless full ethereal fairy prom skirts/dresses.  Maxi dresses. Kimono sleeve dresses that morph into tunics when worn over trousers.

2. STRONG INTEREST IN SHOULDER/SLEEVE -  Sleeves are truly back.  Puff sleeve volume, cap sleeves, 80s batwing draped sleeves.   There also kaftan drape kimono sleeves, arm-warmers and chiffon sleeves.  The length of the sleeves varies, you will see cropped fuller sleeves, full-length tailored sleeves, furthermore they can be pushed or rolled to elbow.  As for the shoulder line, it's expanding with a softened shoulder line, one shoulder looks and halter collier lines.

3. COLOUR - Vibrant popping electric brights compete with soft sorbet tints.
In the red range popular tones are: blush beige, warm rose, lavender, fuchsia, magenta, rust red and hot shocking pink.   While in the aqua spectrum we have deep cardamom green, citron green, vibrant green, jade aqua, Santorini blue and royal lapis blue.   Monochromes are represented by, slate grey, black, navy, hessian, cream and white.  Last, but not least, are the key colours of, lemon yellows, tangerine, orange and antique gold.

4.GOLDEN GIRLS - Think golden days with yellow, golden buttercup, citrus, lemongrass, burnished bronze and copper and all with metallic shine and the gleam of liquid gold shimmer.

5. EXOTIC TRIBAL - Note Amer-Afro transcontinental tribal references in pattern, print and fabrics.  Navajo rust-red/turquoise/brown beadwork southwest colourations. Fringe on bags, fringed boots, sandals and garments

6.WATERCOLOUR PRINTS - Ditzy garden floral print mixes, Ikebana and exotic flora prints in a painterly manner. Animal fashion print materials also worked in non-animal bright colourways.

7. SHEER FABRICS - See through sheer areas create modest cover up looks that add intrigue.

8. RETRO JUMPSUITS - Carrot and peg top trousers versus wide leg jumpsuits.  Jumpsuits as above knee playsuits.

9. TROUSERS - Harem dhoti carrot peg top style trousers with skinny ankles.  Wide leg pants and boot cut jeans.

10. RETRO DENIM - Distressed looks with acid and stonewashing, ripping and fraying. Skinnies, baggies, boot cut, dark denim, pale denim, credit crunch chic of any and every denim style.  Designer prices or recessionista fashion

~As a Parent or Guardian/Cousin/Sister/Aunt/Uncle,the most scary thing that can happen to you is having a child do the "disappearing act" on you . . for Instant while shopping or out & about!!It only takes a second for this to happen & kids as we know they are a lil bit too adventurous & get distracted easily . .

~First time it happened to me i nearly peed myself w/ Worry/Panic . . .i was getting money out of the Cash Point . . .my all to eager 3 yr old at the time wanted to punch in the code, which he did,for a spilt second when i focused on the ATM's option of "Would You Like A Receipt" & get the money out,my son has disappeared from right beside me!! I immediately paniced when i looked around & cudnt see him . .I dont even recall dropping my Shopping bags/Handbag/Wallet. . . . words cannot describe how i felt at that moment,my tummy was doing funny noises . . i was hyperventilating! i just stood right there & screamed his name, everyone stopped/turned. . .some stared at me,some enquired what's up? I just cudnt get my mind to focus on the colour of clothes he had on as people enquired,i just kept thinking,His name & my contact details are written on his Jacket . . .i was shaking like a leaf thro a windy storm!! All tips i've read up on losing a child had gone right off my head. . . .i was going round in circles sobbing & screaming my son's name, then out of nowhere he appeared distraught & crying "Mummy" . . . I got down on my knees & bundled him up crying uncontrolably & repeating "Dont You Ever Do this to me again!"! He'd wandered into a store he'd spoted "Teletubbies Toys". . i tell you what! I never want to feel like that Again!!

~Pray to God you dont experience this but should you find yourself in this suitation, here are a few tips i got form a child safety leaflet on how to keep a child "Safe & Found" . .

Child Safety Tips

~Encourage children to stay close to you at all times & keep them within your sight!

~Arrange a meeting point for kids a lil bit older just in case you get lost where you should meet up

~Dont leave a child unsupervised . .

~If You have to,use reins or wrist Links {Almost every child i've been around hate them but it helps knowing they are at the end of that link}

~Make Sure your child knows Never to walk away with a Stranger{this is a bit tricky,considering the child is lost &  it will be a stranger who'll walk up to them . . }

~If You Lose a Child. . .

1.Stop,Stand Still & Look,Dont Run About

2.Stay close to where you last saw the child

3.For parents, carry an Up to date Photo

4.Always try to make a note of what the child is wearing

5.Get someone to Alert Security or look for "Child Safe Zones" stickers In some Shopping Malls
