Foreign Affairs / Re: Arresting Putin In South Africa, A Declaration Of War On Our Country - Ramaphosa by mojounited(m): 10:21am On Jul 19, 2023 |
Most people don't realise that, being an ex-spy, Vladimir Putin is more calculative and surgical in his approach than being irrational (he is not one you'd consider a dictator, in my opinion). If Putin is somehow replaced with someone like Dmitry Medvedev or Sergey Surovikin (General Armageddon), the world would likely be involved in a nuclear war in no distant time. Africa should be sensible and avoid any conflict or confrontation with a nuclear power, especially Russia where they have core nationalists that can be more cruel in conflict when compared to Putin. |

Rubbish people, playing politics with people's lives. I miss the military era to be honest; You dare not issue nonsense ultimatums to Babangida or Abacha when banditry, terrorism, cultism, ritualism and other vices of killings are so rife. During my college days in FGC when Abacha was still Head of State, students from Lagos/SW would be picked-up by Marcopolo "Lagos buses" on the "last day" of the term and returned upon resumption of a new term. Never for once was there a case of kidnapping. My boss also mentioned that in his boarding school days from1993, boarding students travelling long distances often used trains to arrive /depart schools in Jos and other parts of the North without a single news of kidnapping, banditry or robbery. If you're caught, tried and found guilty for banditry, kidnapping or armed robbery, it is execution by firing squad in your community straight up! These days, it seems Nigeria rewards kidnappers, bandits, terrorists, ritualists, cultists, corruption, etc. A train load of people get kidnapped, entire students in a boarding school get kidnapped, entire communities get wiped out, people are not free to move and operate freely for day(s), etc. After many years of democracy, insecurity seems to be getting far worse... |

Stoplying:Then your supposed fact was not needed in my narrative since it did not invalidate the initial post I made, based on reason. US made a move on the chess board by courting Taiwan and China has found a way to respond by also courting Cuba. If it wasn't a big deal, the US wouldn't be barking already. It seems you just like jumping on and responding to every post, hence this will be my final response. 2 Likes |

Stoplying:What does that change in this your narrative when US can deal directly with Taiwan without China's approval, thereby treating Taiwan as if it is an independent Nation? Recall how Nansi Pelosi, former US Speaker, made a trip to Taiwan even when China was vehemently against such move. How does a high-ranking foreign government official visit your supposed territory without going through the proper diplomatic and official channel? Autonomous self-governing Taiwan is buying weapons from Washington (F-16s, Harpoon and anti-ship missiles, etc), producing some serious advanced chips that aren't allowed to be sold in China mainland markets, etc. Aren't you seeing the comparison I was trying to make with my initial post? US is still nosing around Taiwan which China considers a no-go area and part of its territory. While China is trying to do same with Cuba which US considers a country in Western Hemisphere and part of her area of influence courtesy of a somewhat disguised Monroe Doctrine. If you aren't seeing the similarities, then move on. PS - China is making this move with the hope that US would respond with threats or appeal for China to leave Cuban territory. Then China will use that opportunity to push for US to abandon all policies around Taiwan and likely the South-China Sea . This will be a win-win for China. It's a classic bait and strategic move by China. 7 Likes |

MrMcJay:You have no point. The stolen crude oil can be refined locally in Syria to obtain AGO (Diesel) to fuel all the war machines/vehicles and generators situated in Syria. Heck, if they can steal enough trucks of oil, that'd be enough to run their operations in the Syria and Iraq. If only you know how much worth of Diesel is required to power a 1,000KVA Diesel Generator all day every day based on international prices, you'd realise it's huge funding that a debt-ridden USA wouldn't want to incur further... |

The wingers (RWF and LWF) are squeezing and narrowing the pitch when in possession. That's such a poor play as it makes it quite easy for the Koreans to mark us out and defend as a solid/tight unit. I wonder if the coach isn't seeing it and communicating same to them... |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Can F-16s Fly Combat Sorties Over Ukraine? β A Discussion by mojounited(m): 9:49am On Jun 04, 2023 |
Tiopii:The US would definitely not allow, Support nor be a party to F-16 sorties to/fro Poland to hit Russia. If and when that happens, that particular airfield or base the F-16s fly from would be a legitimate target! It is one thing to pass on weapons to Ukraine from Poland, but it is a completely different ball game if you station weapons platform in Poland, take-off and fly from Poland, hit Russia and return to base in Poland. That is an outright declaration of war! Iskander-M or Kinzhal and other conventional weapons, without a nuclear-tipped warhead, would definitely be used by Russia to hit those airfields / bases in Poland if the above scenario plays out. If you think otherwise then you're naive, because the US would sure distance itself from Poland in that particular scenario... 1 Like |

Badassniggga:More reason why Russia placed tactical nukes in Belarus. If Poland allows sorties from Poland to bomb Russia and return to land in Poland, then Poland will definitely get hit! Even US and NATO would advise Poland against such recklessness unless NATO are fully ready to join the war. 1 Like |

PoliteActivist:But that's a fact, even if it is just symbolic. Most Russians are not as divided along ethnic and religious lines for the sake of politics as done in Nigeria, they do what's good for Russia. No need going into that anyway, it will just be a long back and forth that'll digress from the original post. But I'm sure if the scenario changed and I had mentioned "without US House/Congress' approval", you'd have just rolled with it. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia Deploys Tactical Nuclear Weapons To Belarus - US, EU React by mojounited(m): 12:44pm On May 28, 2023 |
PoliteActivist: False! Russia withdrew signatory from the Rome Statute (which created ICC) since 2016 after the Crimean debacle. Nothing ties Russia to the ICC. Even their president cannot unilaterally join Russia with ICC without approval by the State Duma. |

HacheNoire: Such hubris! Funny when you make comments like the above but it so happens that only Rosatom from Russia can make the cleanest and well refined nuclear fuel needed to run nuclear plants even in America and Europe (yes, the world, even US, depends on Rosatom for refined nuclear fuel thats why Hungary, Austria and other EU countries are against sanctioning Russia's Nuclear Sector). With Rosatom being a state-run corporation, how difficult do you think it'll be to maintain the old nukes and build new ones during war time? Financing a state-run corporation for any Nation's benefits isn't that difficult. Recall that North Korea and now Iran (yes, they're almost there) have built nuclear weapons whilst under US / UN Sanctions, so is it Russia that will find it difficult to maintain old nukes and build new ones when they already have all the experienced scientists, equipment and raw materials for them? Don't simply swallow all that MSM feeds you, do your own small research. That's how we were told that Russia are using microchips from microwave and washing machines after the first 6 months of the SMO... yada yada 2 Likes |

Felix6:You do have a point. But I think that by virtue of four best losers also advancing from the group stage to knock-out round, Nigeria would have already qualified with six points regardless of the outcome of the remaining games. This is because when you consider results, points and positions of teams in other groups, then our six points will be more than enough to guarantee our qualification to the next stage. 1 Like 1 Share |
