These days, it seems Nigeria rewards kidnappers, bandits, terrorists, ritualists, cultists, corruption, etc. A train load of people get kidnapped, entire students in a boarding school get kidnapped, entire communities get wiped out, people are not free to move and operate freely for day(s), etc. After many years of democracy, insecurity seems to be getting far worse...

Aren't you seeing the comparison I was trying to make with my initial post? US is still nosing around Taiwan which China considers a no-go area and part of its territory. While China is trying to do same with Cuba which US considers a country in Western Hemisphere and part of her area of influence courtesy of a somewhat disguised Monroe Doctrine.

If you aren't seeing the similarities, then move on.

PS - China is making this move with the hope that US would respond with threats or appeal for China to leave Cuban territory. Then China will use that opportunity to push for US to abandon all policies around Taiwan and likely the South-China Sea . This will be a win-win for China.
