BritishNaija:

Please get your fact right, China and india can never absorb the EU gas buy from Russia.

Obviously, not in the interim, since gas supplies to other countries are not delivered via pipeline (as is the case for Europe), but give it time. Like I said, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Turkey, etc are still buying from Russia as there aren't immediate alternatives yet.

If Nigeria can commence OB3 pipeline for local gas supplies and AKK for the trans saharan pipeline to Algeria/Morocco, then Russia can pipe its gas to China and onward to Indo Pacific (if all of Europe stops buying from Russia completely); this will more than increase the demand and supply to India, China and Asia (Russia to China/India is even closer than Russia to Germany. Almost same distance if AKK trans saharan pipeline gets to Morocco).

Without cheap Russian gas which is already piped to Europe, Europeans will be buying at far higher rates from other markets (probably double the amount) and that means their products will likely not be competitive with products from India, China and Asia.

Apart from Canada and Russia, US source for uranium from Australia and khazakhstan and Uzbekistan, so not buying from Russia is No problem.

Funny, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are staunch Russian allies... Well, let's see how US intends to offset the 16% share of Russian uranium; US makes use of uranium for its 20% nuclear power plants and even more for its military industrial complex.

BritishNaija:

If you have a products and no one to sell to or the majority to sell to have blockade you, what is the essence?

BritishNaija, well, for starters, let's look at the world population (the emboldened are countries/continents that have sanctioned Russian products);

1. China = 1.44 Billion People
2. India = 1.38 Billion People
3. Africa = 1.3 Billion People
4. Europe = 750,000,000 People Take out 146,000,000 Russians and you have just above 600,000,000 Europeans only.
5. North America = 600,000,000 People
6. South America = 430,000,000 People
7. Australia/Oceania = 43,000,000 People
8. Japan = 126,000,000 People
9. Rest of Asia and Middle East = 1.7 Billion People

https://www.worldometers.info/geography/7-continents/

Total World Population (by estimate) = 7.6 to 7.8 Billion People (approximately)

Total Population of Countries that have sanctioned Russia = 1.2 to 1.5 Billion People out of 7.6 Billion People

Do you still think Russia will not have enough market size with "majority" of the world's population to sell its products? Funny thing is, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and other Europeans are still buying and stocking Russian oil and gas.

Apart from Canada, where else do you think USA buys Uranium and Plutonium from to fuel/replace and service its over 5,000 nukes?
Also, besides India and China (who already have hungry markets in-country), where do you think USA, Europe and Africa buy Fertilizer and Urea from?
Yes, you guessed right, they also buy from Russia, alongside titanium and other rare earth metals for manufacturing of military aircrafts. I'm sure you are aware that grains, wheat, fertilizer, urea, oil and gas are not in the sanctions list. You'd do well to ask yourself why...

China and India alone, who are hungry energy consumers, are big enough markets for Russia.

Check the report again, it never for once mentioned civilians. They're being careful with their propaganda. There were no civilians in the building.
My comment was not limited to this particular school incident alone, but about overall tactics of the Ukrainian Army; shell the Russians from civilian centers and draw enemy reprisal fire/attacks to those areas, and subsequently wail about civilian casualties. This way, Ukraine gains more sympathy from international community while Russia is accused of war crimes.

War is about deception.

Before you blame the Russians, take a look at Ukraine's Aidar Regiment hiding in a kindergarten.

Now tell me why there won't be civilian casualties when Russia decides to shell the kindergarten.

War is about deception. The end goal here is that Ukraine just wants The West and Rest of the World to believe that Russia committed acts of war crimes...

Smart move from the government, but not so smart sacrificing the lives of civilians when shelling from civilian occupied areas.

Russia is already hurting from sanctions, war is expensive, do they have the resources to stay forever

The Donbas region is richly blessed in Plutonium, Uranium, Oil & Gas Reserves, Precious and Rare Earth Metals and has a sizable rich lands for farming of grains. Mariupol also has one of largest steel complex in Europe while the port cities (mariupol, odessa, snake islands, etc) will be strategic for oil/gas and maritime services.

If Donbas, Mariupol, Odessa, Kherson and Kharkiv are captured and finally occupied by Russia, Ukraine's GDP and Revenues will be severely affected.

Just like when Russia annexed Vyborg from Finland after the war and now pumping oil/gas to Europe via Vyborg fields, same (and more) will apply to Donbas Region and other Oblasts captured by the Russians.

Imagine Russia alone controlling up to/more than 50% of Oil/Gas Reserves, Mineral Deposits and Grain Fields in Europe...

I don't think that was where it landed..

Look at the tail end of the last picture, I think it slided up to that point before it came to a halt!
At a speed of Mach 1.7+ (even if it was just 200km/h flight speed), there's no way it would 'safely' land looking like that.

Looks like something that fell of the launch tube due to incompetency of the Ukraine user(s), especially since they may have only had few hours/days of training without actual combat experience and during constant bombardments from the enemy. Below is a comment from a captured Ukraine soldier;

“As for the NLAW missile launchers, well, we used them more often than the Javelins, but it has its own issue with the battery draining in cold conditions, making it impossible to launch,” he said.

He terms the American Javelins "not so useful" in urban warfare due to obstruction from buildings/installations to line of sight.

Why is this unpalatable, difficult for me to digest properly and believe?

So, a missile that travels at more than say Mach 1.7+ and at a certain altitude will just fall off mid-flight and LAND NEATLY on a grass field without so much of an impact causing dirt, roughness or slight/partial disintegration to the missile? Someone please educate me.

The west is running serious war propaganda but we shouldn't absolve Russia of trying to do same. There's more to this than meets the eye.

Only the DA-42 surveillance aircraft seems a good buy for COIN reconnaissance. Augusta Westland (just like previous ones) and Beechraft are to be used by incompetent money-thiefing military echelons, unless they can manage to add rocket launch pods to the A109.

Well, let me not deride them much since they've also procured viper ah-1z attack helicopters.

Foreign Affairs / Russia Rejects Gas Payment From European Country by mojounited(m): 3:32pm On Apr 28, 2022
The attempted transfer reportedly came from a trading firm that Germany seized from Russia’s Gazprom

Gazprombank, Russia’s key bank that handles European gas payments, has reportedly declined several payment attempts for April and May gas deliveries to Germany and Austria even though they were made through a ruble account. The bank rejected the transaction because the attempted payments came from a former Russian trading firm that was nationalized in Germany, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

The Gazprom Marketing & Trading Limited (GM&T) had been controlled by Russia’s Gazprom Germania Group before April 4, when Berlin’s Economy Minister Robert Habeck announced that the subsidiary would come under the trusteeship of the German energy regulator until September 30.

Earlier this month, Brussels said that paying for Russian gas in rubles by European Union buyers as demanded by the Kremlin would breach Ukraine-related sanctions. However, several member states agreed to use the new payment mechanism and have made their first payments in the Russian currency.

The GM&T case, which reportedly deals with a very small amount of gas, involves a payment process that is “unclear,” according to the statement by Germany’s energy regulator. The gas is due to be paid for in euros as agreed in the contract, it said, adding that GM&T can replace the gas by buying on the open market if it needs to.

https://ncdmb.gov.ng/ncdmb-signs-investment-agreements-with-duport-midstream-eraskon-on-energy-park-oil-blending-plant/

Is it possible that the two investment agreements signed by NCDMB in the above report were meant to act as catalysts for this recruitment? Duport Misdtream Energy Park Project in Edo State, initially scheduled to be completed in December, 2021, is now rescheduled for commissioning in June 2022. Meanwhile, Eraskon Nigeria Limited recently performed groundbreaking ceremony for the Lubricant Blending Plant in Bayelsa State last month, with a completion date scheduled for December, 2022 (project timelines can be tricky, so we expect completion date to be further rescheduled for this one too).

So, unless these projects / investments are directly tied to this recruitment, it's a tad difficult to understand why a recruitment that kickstarted in July, 2020 cannot be wrapped up after almost two years. The last time I was involved in such a long recruitment process was the 2019 NNPC Recruitment for EH component. Those who participated know how it panned out...

Some of us are lucky to be gainfully employed while hoping for this recruitment to come to a conclusion, i shudder to think of what other applicants, who are solely banking on this recruitment for employment, are going through. May our expectations not be cut short!

Op, I want to believe you intend using this sensational headline to gain more views and comments.

Correction: Israel never dropped the dollar outrightly; it just added Chinese yuan to diversify its foreign reserves, while reducing or lowering the amount of dollars.

Canadian, Japanese and Australian currencies were also added.

It is however true that a lot of other countries may opt to diversify their foreign reserves from dollars (not dump it outrightly) since the US has weaponised the dollar

Foreign Affairs / Re: Anti Russian Sanctions: The Effect In Europe by mojounited(m): 11:12am On Apr 22, 2022
Globetech:
How has the life of Europeans changed with the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions?

EU inflation jumped from 1.3% to 7.4%

▪️In March 2022, inflation in the euro area rose to 7.4% year on year. A year earlier, inflation was 1.3% over the same period

▪️The growth trend of inflation in the EU is taking place not only in relation to "year on year", but also in relation to the previous month. Thus, March inflation became higher than February by 1.5 percentage points.

▪️At the same time, inflation has already exceeded the double-digit threshold in 7 eurozone countries - it was 10 percent or more, including the Netherlands - 11.7%, the Czech Republic - 11.9%, Lithuania - 15.6%

The EU urged citizens to turn off the heating, reduce the speed of the car and switch to remote control.

▪️In Germany, it was advised to wash less often so as not to depend on Russian gas

▪️In France, residents were asked to lower the temperature in the batteries of apartments, save on air conditioners and lighting

In Italy, restrictions are imposed on the temperature: in summer it should not be below 25 ° C, and in winter – no higher than 19 ° C

In Ireland, for the sake of saving gasoline, motorists were advised to slow down less often, not carry heavy loads and not turn on the air conditioner, but it is better to walk

In Lithuania, citizens were advised to boil less water, lower the temperature in the room to 16 degrees Celsius and listen to music quieter

▪️In Estonia, it was recommended to wash clothes at night and insulate houses

VDVN: Germany will pay a record 33.9 billion euros for energy from Russia in 2022.

It is noted that the price of Russian oil could rise from 11.4 billion euros to 14.3 billion euros, and the price of gas imports to Germany could double from 8.8 billion euros to 17.6 billion euros.

As long as Coal, Oil and Gas from Russia are still in demand, these sanctions against Russia would mean little. Imagine Germans being informed to wash and bath less in order not to utilise much gas/electricity;

"Dear Germans, it is okay to stink for Zelensky and Nazi Ukraine".

So what's the idea of all those takes?

Is that how bigger and stronger countries should be taking from smaller countries?

Not an idea, it's reality albeit morally wrong. Unfortunately, wars have always happened and it predates The Holy Books, and it'll continue to happen. The Holy Book even prophesied about a great war before rapture.

From the days of King David, Solomon, Herod,..., Alexander the Great, Napoleon, The Roman Empire, The Caliphate, The Brits, Hitler, The USA...down to the Fulani invasion of Northern Nigeria, senseless wars have happened and will always happen.

Israel has taken over much of West Bank and Palestinian lands. The US threatens any nation with sanctions, before now it used to be outright invasion / regime change; the first nation to unleash nuclear bombs on another country and involved in over 93 wars/conflicts worldwide. NATO bombed Serbia to smithereens and carved out Kosovo, killed Qadaffi and Sadam Hussein, etc.

Here, back home in Nigeria, we have terrorism, banditry/bandits killing people and taking hostages for ransom, armed robbery, herdsmen, ESN/IPOB, ND Militants, Cult Groups, even those killing and harvesting human organs/skulls for rituals.

They're all just taking whatever they want/can from the weak. It is in human nature to be destructive!

I'm just an armchair analyst on NL, whatever I do or say here will neither change Putin's mind nor the outcome of this "special operation".

So don't come directing your moral compass at me, speak to the world leaders who'd rather have nuclear and deep space satellite weapons than food/health care/infrastructure that'd be more than enough to take care of humanity.

Once Russia takes Mariupol, Kahrkiv, Kherson, Odessa, and Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk), Ukraine will become a landlocked country. Russia would then benefit from the natural resources in those areas; coal, iron ore, precious earth metals, oil and gas reserves, uranium, etc.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/erictegler/2022/02/23/as-russian-forces-roll-into-eastern-ukraine-putin-grabs-yet-another-prizeores-and-energy/amp/

Irrespective of how much sanctions the Western Nations met out to Russia, Russia will be richer in the near future if they hold on to Donbas.

Also, Russia's Black Sea Fleet will have little or no further worries about any blockade of its Navy heading towards the Mediterranean from unfriendly forces if Mariupol and other port cities are captured.

Just like when Russia went to war with Finland and ended up capturing Vyborg. Now, Russia pumps Oil & Gas to Europe and the Baltic Nations via Vyborg Fields.
