Sometimes giving up and letting things go can make us the happiest. Turning over the pages of time you are quite likely inviting depression, stress and excuses, all leading you to an unhappy and unfulfilled life. So, let us see what are those ‘give ups’ that can make us happy and content. 1. Give Up your self-directed negative thoughts https://i49.tinypic.com/2n8bo5x.jpg 2. https://i48.tinypic.com/ibkxfp.jpg We have got only one life to live with no promise of tomorrow and no control over what the fate’s decree. Sometimes, there is no second chance or next time, it is either ‘Now’ or ‘NEVER’. An opportunity or chance can never be the same; the next is either better or worse than the first. Today, I stumbled upon the story of former Melbourne criminal Mark Brandon “Chopper” who spent over two decades of life in prison and was convicted for over a hundred crime charges including being involved in killing 19 people. He later went on to become the bestselling author of several crime novels. Today, at the age 57, he is a free man, a celebrity and wants to relive his life. But life seems to be slipping out of his hands; he is on the way of his last breath. He desperately needs a second chance to prove that he is far better as a person. His life has denied him a second chance; he has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and he confessed that he was not going to live for more than 3 months. In 2000, he was portrayed and immortalized in the film “Chopper” by Eric Bana. In 2009, he refused the liver transplant saying, “I’m not going to ask for a liver transplant, it’s not fair,” he said. “I’m 55-years-old; I’m not going to put my name down against some 10-year-old kid.” Thinking twice on your action is far better than regretting later. Once you are confident about the decision, don’t hesitate or look back. Source: http://www.successstories.co.in/sometimes-there-is-no-second-chance/ |

https://i48.tinypic.com/1605s2s.jpg In the early years of life Michael Jordan, in his words, was a confused child and could never excel academically. During high-school days, he remained a B+ student and played Football, baseball, and basketball. His extreme and numerous failures made him extremely successful player. He missed over 9000 shots during his career, lost approximately 300 games; and on 26 occasions, when he was the person to take the game’s winning shot and he missed. “I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael Jeffrey Jordan. His defeat could never stop him, “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” ESPN ranks him #1 on Sportscentury’s Top 100 Athletes of the 20th century. Some Memorable Quotes from the Legend “I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. I don’t do things half-heartedly. Because I know if I do, then I can expect half-hearted results.” “My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.” “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” “I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win.” “Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.” Source: http://www.successstories.co.in/accept-failure-but-dont-accept-not-trying-success-story-of-michael-jordon/ |

Gisele Bündchen is, what I call her, an entrepreneur and not a model. You sign her up for a brand and your sales skyrockets several hundred percents. And I'm not surprised to find any male model in top 10 or 15. Blame it on men for this segregation |
https://i50.tinypic.com/5ma613.jpg Farrah Gray spent his early years in acute poverty and began working at the age of six. His first job was selling home-made body lotion and hand-painted rock bookends. Life wasn’t easy and Farrah would walk several miles visiting door-to-door in his Chicago neighborhood to make ends meet and take care of his ailing mother. By the time he was 14, he had gone through several businesses including a prepaid phone card company, Kidztel, and a food company for young ones named Farr-Out Foods, from which he earned approximately $1.5 million before he finally sold it. At the age of 20, Farrah published his first book, “Reallionaire: Nine Steps to Becoming Rich Inside and Out”, where he noted down all his experiences and journey to becoming the man he is today. His prominence progressed from national to international and Farrah became an entrepreneurial icon among the youths of America and other parts of the world. https://i48.tinypic.com/24nlhlj.jpg 1. It is Between you and God “People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” ― Mother Teresa 2. Be Like Water “Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” ~Bruce Lee 3. The Guidance of Virtue “Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.” – Buddha 4. Catch the Spirit of the Great Pioneers “To win the big stakes in this changed world, you must catch the spirit of the great pioneers of the past, whose dreams have given to civilization all that it has of value, the spirit that serves as the life-blood of our own country – your opportunity and mine, to develop and market our talents.” ― Napoleon Hill 5. Every Morning is a New Arrival “This being human is a guest house. Every morning is a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor…Welcome and entertain them all. Treat each guest honorably. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.” ― Rumi 6. Don’t be Afraid of Experience “Experience life in all possible ways — good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more mature you become.” ― Osho 7. God is Reflection of Human Fraility “I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own — a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism.” ― Albert Einstein 8. Mistakes do not Make us Evil “We are all mistaken sometimes; sometimes we do wrong things, things that have bad consequences. But it does not mean we are evil, or that we cannot be trusted ever afterward.” – Alison Croggon 9. The Brick Walls are there for a Reason “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” ― Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture 10. The Greatest Blessings are Within Us “True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.” ― Seneca The article was posted on Success Stories: http://www.successstories.co.in/10-quotes-to-live-by-in-the-year-2013/ |
But why some good souls are destined to die untimely/unfortunate? I believe in Lord almighty..but sometimes I feel the world has turned into a fitter/better place for the evils. Look around..the bad are enjoying and the good are suffering. Why? andico34: every event ever recorded in the annals of human history are tied to seasons and times and dates and numbers......there are connections to this...can explain better if i can create more time here....but look at that bible verse that said the children of issachar had an understanding of the times and seasons and were in command of their brethen......even one s birthdate etc is tied to a particular....am still a bible student on this but it is amazing how events are connected |
https://i46.tinypic.com/2r7c3uu.jpg Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost a child while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. Both Presidents were shot in the head. Now it gets really weird. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names are composed of fifteen letters. Now hang on to your seat. Lincoln was shot at the theater named "Ford." Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford." Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials. And here's the "kicker": A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe. AND...................: Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse... Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theater... ___________________________ I saw this had to share just in case anyone did not know. |
