Can we ever consider of participating at such an event without proper training or at least without practicing of running for certain times before? Isn’t it awkward standing barefoot in the same line with professional runners (wearing proper dress code), in nauvari and competing with them?

Christopher Paul Gardner, an American entrepreneur, investor, and stockbroker, who battled against homelessness and also loneliness while struggling to raise his toddler son and give his life a better chance to evolve in early 1980s. pro01: Interesting topic. It is worthwhile to first determine whether these ideas made millions in spite of their 'weirdness', or perhaps because of their 'weirdness'. However, assuming that the ideas succeeded in spite of their weirdness, the point to note is that no idea is "weird" in the objective sense of the word; it is often a matter of subjective judgment/preference of the consumer.

The only way to make legitimate wealth is to create/possess/deliver value to people that are willing to pay for it (regardless of what you sell or how you sell it). Perceptions of 'value' differ from one individual to the other. The bottom line is that you can't be sure what idea would make you a fortune, until you try. . .and it is not always a logical decision because the idea you regard as stupid or 'weird' might make 'sense' to millions of people that are willing to put millions in your bank account.

In fact, I strongly believe that if a determined and skillful salesman packages human poo and markets it as a 'niche product', he would find people - relatively plenty people - that are willing to buy such packaged poo. That's just how the world works: Different strokes.

1. The singing fish

Today, after several years, it might not sound so surprising or interesting since the toys of this sort have become so common among kids. However, in the late 1990s and by the start of 2000, the idea earned millions.

In the late 1990s, a toy company in Texas created The Singing Fish. By the appearance, the singing fish seems to be a normal fishing trophy – a bass mounted onto a wooden tablet that was then fixed to the wall. It has a button and on pushing the button, a motion sensor activates the fish to turn its head and tail and speaks out the recording sentences “Hello” “Take Me to the River” or “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. By the very beginning of 2000, the singing fish became a massive success and a popular gift. People would take it to surprise their family members and even place it at their workplace to make fun with the co-workers.

Now it is rarely found on eBay.

Today, Tamagotchis are not sold in large number as it used to be; however, elementary school kids still like to play with it. The creators of Tamagotchi made millions almost instantly.
