Politics / Detractors Out To Destabilise Enugu — Nwodo by Montracine: 11:59am On Aug 26, 2019
President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has decried “the growing tendency of some detractors of Enugu State Government,” who he said, “are out to destabilise the peace and tranquillity in the state.”

Chief Nwodo spoke in reaction to the death of Mrs Regina Mba, found dead in farmland in Nchatancha Nike, in Enugu East Local Government Area, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Emeka Attamah.

He “enjoined the state government not to be distracted by enemies of progress, but to continue to carry out measures it has put in place to secure lives and properties in the state.”
He called on security agencies to unravel the conspiracy and tendency of hoodlums, who are attempting to make the state insecure through incessant kidnappings and killings, which hitherto were absent.

He, therefore, called for a thorough investigation into the death of the woman in Nchatancha Nike, stating that though the executive of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu State had visited the home of the victim, it was still necessary for him to add his voice to the condemnation of the act.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Is Fighting For His Self-interest -Dave Umahi by Montracine: 10:53am On Aug 21, 2019
Governors from the southeast have warned Nnamdi Kani, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to be ready for repatriation if he attacks them
- The governors describe Kanu's threat as empty adding that the IPOB leader pretends to fight for the people of the south east
- Dave Umahi of Ebonyi describes Kanu as desperately pursuing 'raw wealth' in his self-acclaimed fight
South east governors have accused the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, of pursuing a selfish agenda mainly for himself.
The governors also warned Kanu, who is on the run from Nigeria, that he would be repatriated to the country to face the wrath of the law if he dares attack any of them abroad as he had boasted.
In a statement by Dave Umahi of Ebonyi and chairman of the south east governors forum, he and his colleagues claimed Kanu was only pretending to be fighting for Ndigbo.

They said he is “pretending to be fighting for Ndigbo and would soon be exposed him if he doesn’t retrace his steps.”
Read the full warning below:
South east governors are saddened with the ugly display and dance of shame by IPOB in Germany in attacking one of the finest leaders of Ndigbo, Senator Ike Ekweremmadu. We totally condemn it as we weep for them as they never knew the implication of their naked dance in public.
We have also noted the empty threats by Mr Nnamdi Kanu (a former ordinary member of MASSOB) to attack governors of south east, Ohanaeze leadership and other Igbo politicians for not supporting the self-acclaimed supreme leader in his self-fight for the raw power and wealth while pretending to be fighting for Ndigbo.
We wish to warn that should any south east person be attacked anywhere in the world, we shall, by all means, bring back Kanu to Nigeria to face the wrath of our people. It is madness for anyone who wants raw power with no experience to think that we governors will support the killing of our people giving out our scarce land to herdsmen.

If Kanu is serious, let him direct IPOB to fight those foreign killer herdsmen in their countries of origin since he claims the IPOB is in over 100 countries in the world.
If Kanu who was previously in MASSOB but needed power and money wants Biafra and he is the self-acclaimed supreme leader, let him come back home with his army and guns to lead us to battle for the empire he desire to lead other than cheap talks. Soonest Ndigbo will know him better.

Politics / Lagos Ports Are Not Congested — STOAN by Montracine: 6:42pm On Aug 18, 2019
The Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN) says the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa and the Tin-Can Island Port Complex are not congested.

Mr Bolaji Akinola, spokesperson of the association, said this in a statement in Lagos on Sunday.
Akinola said that both ports were operating at less than 70 per cent capacity.
He said the major challenges facing the ports were the access road, which had become dilapidated.
“It is important to correct the understanding of the public about the ports.

“The hinterland infrastructure leading to the ports in Lagos, such as the roads, are at breaking points, while the ports are not congested and not at breaking points.
“Most of the terminals in the two ports are operating below capacity. The busiest terminals are operating at less than 70 per cent at the yard and 60 per cent at berth.

“So there is no port congestion anywhere as of today.”
Akinola said the ports in Lagos had capacity to handle beyond the volume of cargo they are handling at the moment if the dilapidated port access roads are repaired.
He urged government to put an end to the manual operation of cargo clearing processes deployed by the Nigeria Customs Service.
He said that port operation was not about the size of the port only, but about the efficiency of the connecting facilities around the port.

“I think the major problem we have at hand is that successive governments allowed the port access roads to degenerate so bad. The two main entry routes into the Lagos ports are the Ijora-Wharf Road and the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
“The Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, which is the major road to the ports with six lanes, has packed up several years ago.
“Every petroleum tanker, port truck and trucks belonging to many manufacturing concerns in Apapa now use the narrow Ijora-Wharf Road, which is not even in a perfect state also.
“This results in the inevitable chaos we see on the roads. If these roads are repaired as they should be, the chaos will disappear,” Akinola said.
Nige
He said ports in other parts of the country were not immune to the challenges of bad road.
He called on the Federal Government to embark on “urgent comprehensive repairs” of the roads leading to the ports in the country, especially the Lagos ports.
Akinola also urged government to provide functional truck parks in Apapa to stop trucks from parking on the roads and impeding the flow of traffic.
He said that there was need to develop alternative modes of haulage in the country, saying that over-reliance on road haulage was not healthy or sustainable for the country.
“The Federal Government would need to get the rails working so that cargoes could be moved around the country by rail.
“The National Inland Waterways Authority should also focus its energy on enhancing waterways transportation, as some cargo could also be moved to their final destinations by the waterways,” Akinola said. (NAN)

Politics / Just In: MASSOB hits IPOB over attack on Ekweremadu by Montracine: 3:33pm On Aug 18, 2019
Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in a statement signed by its director of information, Edeson Samuel disagreed with IPOB over the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
It states: “The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned in its totality, the assault, physical attack and disrespectful actions of some Igbos against Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany which we later confirmed as members of IPOB in Germany through the affirmation of IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful.
It is disheartening that some groups has turned the non violence struggle for the actualization of Biafra state into an abusive and systematic gestapo against the supposed citizens of Biafra.
The physical attack on Ike Ekweremadu by IPOB is not commendable. Igbo culture abhors disrespect on elders and persons in authoritative positions. If Ike Ekweremadu is sabotaging or has sabotaged Biafra struggle as alleged by IPOB, what meaningful and acceptable steps has IPOB took to draw the attention of Ike Ekweremadu to the alleged degradation?
MASSOB as a leading figure of current Biafra agitation advice other pro Biafra groups including IPOB that Igbo political leaders are not the major obstacle of our chances of achieving independence from Nigeria state, the major hurdles militating against the freedom of Biafra people from Nigeria is non cohesion and brotherhood among the leaders of leading pro Biafra groups. The tendency of superiority complex on ideology and the spirit of lordship over others are the detrimental tendencies grossly affecting the freedom of Biafrans.
Ike Ekweremadu and other perceived and alleged enemies of Biafra are not our major obstacle against Biafra. IPOB can never actualize Biafra alone, neither MASSOB, LNC, BNC, BIM and others operating individually can achieve Biafra alone. Biafra will be more achievable when a strong coalition of MASSOB, IPOB, Lower Niger Congress, BNC, BIM and others from Niger Delta regions are established under a collegiate leadership
The tendency of grooming authoritarian leadership under any guise in Igbo land and Biafra in general will never be tolerated because the republican nature of Igbo man does not allow such authoritative and empirical rulership.

MASSOB also condemns the directives to attack the governors of southeast, consciously attacking a governor will never give us Biafra but will continue sending our youths to untimely deaths because every attack on a governor will attract the trigger happy Hausa Fulani security agents in Igbo land to open fire on our defenceless youths. Tomorrow, they will say governors ordered the killings of IPOB members.
MASSOB also apologized to Chief Ike Ekweremadu for the physical assault on his person at Germany during the Igbo traditional ceremony of iri ji. We admonished Senator Ike Ekweremadu to abreast the assault as a family affair between a father and his children. Hausa Fulanis and other enemies of Ndigbo are happy but we must shame them when they see you in a cordial relationship with your people.
MASSOB calls and extend a hand of fellowship to IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, BIM led by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, BNC led Alhaji Dokubo Asari and other pro Biafra groups to rally together in the true spirit of Biafra and defend Biafra land from the Fulani invaders and marauders. The era of propagandas and talking on radio / newspaper have gone, people’s opinions on social media will never give us Biafra. Let’s unite and confront our common enemy. Though our governors and other leaders are not assisting the Biafra struggle, we can engage them traditionally, not insulting them.

NIMO

Nimo is a town in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, it needs no introduction to anyone conversant with the history of the state. Situated strategically in the middle of four towns (Abacha, Abagana, Enugwu-Ukwu and Oraukwu).

Owelle, from whom Nimo got her creation, is the eponymous father of Nimo, Abagana, Eziowelle and Abba. Nimo had four children namely, Okpala Dinwenu (Etiti Nimo) Ezenebo (Ifiteani), Ojideleke (Egbengwu), and Ezeabani (Ifitenu). She was earlier ruled by four Ezes (Chiefs), one for each quarter of Nimo. Nimo was notably known as an agricultural town and consequently produced bountiful economic commercial commodities. Praise worthily and courageously, Nimo met with many inter-community wars against Ozalla, Ezike, Okpo, Owa, etc. and relentlessly defeated the combatants with indomitable might. Because of their strategy and method of fighting, they were called "Ndi ofulu uzo ma fa anua muo".

Today, while Nimo is tucked away from the so-called major roads, she has still been able to stand tall among her peers in terms of development, such that she is today inhabited by strangers, comprising civil servants, artisans and professionals, who feel at home in the town and contribute to her development.

The current traditional ruler of Nimo is;
HRH Igwe Maximus Oliobi.

AWGBU
Awgbu is a town in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, South East of Nigeria.
Awgbu town shares boundaries in the West by Agulu and Mbaukwu; in the East by Ndikelionwu, Omogho and Awa; in the North by Umuawulu and Amaetiti; while in the South by Amaokpala and Nanka.
The indigenes of Awgbu are the descendant of Ezekanunu. Ezekanunu has six sons from five wives: They include Ugwu, Abor, Osikwu, Ohzu and Amaugo (twin brothers) and Mbulukor. Ohzu and Amaugo are twins of the same mother. The practice then being that inheritance are shared (na afo nne) according to wives. Ohzu and Amaugo, being that they are twins of the same mother always get a portion. This is evident in the number of five villages we have in Awgbu. The villages are five instead of six because Ohzu and Amaugo which are twins are counted as one village.
Awgbu has one main market that trades on a specific day of the Igbo calendar called Eke-Awgbu which trades on every Eke market day of Igbo calendar. The market is currently in a very poor and shabby state due to land dispute challenges, as being alleged that land owners have refused to release their land for construction of shopping malls and modern Market. Awgbu natives also found it difficult to dispose of their land for development, this has also hampered community developments.
