** Even if you have been migrated to avits (which i doubt) and deliberately missed a visa appointment (without noticing the embassy ) then you have automatically forfeited the appointment and needed to purchase another MRV in order to book another visa interview date.

** Yes MRV last for 1-year if you keep it inside your wardrobe. But the moment you have used it in booking a visa appointment then the expiration date would be tagged or tied to your appointment date. In this case your old mrv expired last year September (the day of the appointment you missed). 👍

I think it's just better to start the process all over again. The system is the most incompetent system I have encountered in my life. They also lie with ease, I am applying for the first time on the new system, I had paid since the last week of August, I called them last week to complain of inability to fix visa interview, the agent first confirmed that I have a valid payment with them and when I inquired about why I haven't gotten a date, he started issuing one false excuse after another, when I show the failure of logic in all his excuses, he said the problem is with my payment, I asked if he was the same person that just confirmed my payments some minutes prior, he then apologised that the payment is intact that it will soon be resolved, till date, it is yet to be resolved. They either do not know their function or the Lagos embassy is filled with people that are not willing to work. I have resolved to take the advice here and start all over again but after 3 months, they still find it so hard to send verification email in time. I even tried calling today, the site said there is a public holiday so there are no agents, and this is an outrageous lie as there is no holiday either in Nigeria or the US.

1. Go and sign up on AVITS, and create a ticket . Attach or quote your SEVIS fee, MRV , and Copy of your Form - I20 in the query/complaint.

Book your appointment (get a date if you haven’t), join mock sessions, attend your interview (be prepared to defend/explain everything on your i20 from sponsorship to school to course), get your visa and flyyyy.. so easy

good day gboyega, i did check the requirements and made sure I meet their requirements especially the food and nutrition program that didn’t require having an advisor before being admitted , so I really don’t know what’s wrong, do you know anyone who studied science lab technology for undergrad that used it for masters program in the usa?

I would suggest you look into the program admission requirements and be sure you met each of them. For example, check if the program requires you have a supervisor before application etc. Also, ensure the program addresses your research needs as indicated in your SOP as most programs only select students they feel they would meet their needs so as not to waste both the time of the student and the resources of the program.
